The Great Computers Civil War (Future Tech ONLY)

Great Computers
25-04-2007, 02:26
The Supreme Monarch Avalon XII impatiently watched the full sized wall-screens for any sign that the rumors were true. Then, he saw it. The confirmation he had been waiting for:

“This is Harley Johnston reporting live and uncensored from the second planet of the Great Computers system, Techonia II. The National Liberation Force, or NLF, has quickly and successfully taken over the planet and has instituted a fully democratic government!! Finally, the people of Great Computers can put their own in office, instead of being ruled by some power hungry tyrant!!! As long as this new order reigns, this day shall be known as Rebirth Day in honor of the victory of democracy!”

This is not what Avalon wanted to hear. His regular forces were being reequipped and all the space craft scrapped. He had the Jackal Special Operations group, but they were trained for special missions, not suicidal combat. His meager forces on Techonia II had either dissented or been executed. It was clear he had no choice left. He must seek help.

(ooc :meanwhile…)

President Jacobs thought he had done well. His National Liberation Force had swept across the planet and freed the people of Great Computers from the oppressive tyrant. His next move would be to sweep the capital planet of Techopia and execute the tyrant to end his reign once and for all. In order to do that though, he needed a great deal of help. Jacobs knew that others would come to the aid of Avalon, so he too must find help.

Field Lt. Anderson was in high spirits. He and his platoon had just taken another hidden Loyalist stronghold on Techonia II. And as suddenly as he and his men had taken the base, a strange and curious ship flew over head. He knew that it meant one of two things. That either President Jacobs had been successful in requesting help from other nations, or these men were for the Supreme Monarch…

In deep, interplanetary space, a purple-shaded cloud of sparkling gas formed out of nothing, glowing brightly as a beacon of hope in the desolate darkness of the void. It was a hyperspace window, formed at an equidistant point between Avalon VII and Techonia II. Bursting into view all of a sudden was a Beliskner-class Cruiser, emerging from the hyperspace window and coming to a relativistic halt.

Supreme Commander Végeirr was aboard, the leader of the Asgard Union. Such an act was a risk, but it was not a decision made lightly. Both he and the High Council had discussed it at length, but in the end they agreed that the risk was worth the potential gain. They saw the opportunity to bring peace to this area of space long before war tore it apart, and although there had already been bloodshed on both sides of this conflict they did not believe the moment had passed. The idea of sending more forces to the area to strengthen their position had also been discussed, but in the end a lone cruiser was determined to be appropriate. It was fully capable of defending itself, but it would withdraw should the need to do so arise.

Skidbladnir was the name of the vessel. It presently used its advanced sensor arrays to scan both worlds and ensure that the ship was located exactly between the two, a symbolic gesture more than anything. This exact positioning would also serve the next stages of their plan, should their plan advance that far.

When all aboard were certain that the Skidbladnir was exactly positioned, and that the AI was able to maintain that exactness, Végeirr enacted the first step. He sent a message, to the leaders of both 'forces', timed to ensure that both would receive it at the exact same moment in time.

Greetings,

I am Supreme Commander Végeirr of the Asgard Union, aboard the Asgard cruiser Skidbladnir. We have heard your respective appeals for assistance, and we have come to help you both.

While both of you are preparing to take your ideological differences into armed conflict, I propose that the most beneficial course of action for all parties concerned is to instead engage in an exchange of words, at a negotiating table. It is apparent that neither side seems to have tried discussing their issues before taking the easy and, ultimately unproductive, route of violence. All I am proposing is to explore all of the peaceful options before shedding further blood, and neither of you shall lose anything in the attempt.

If you are prepared to lay down your arms in a truce, at least to give our proposal a chance to succeed however minor you believe it to be, we are willing to host your talks aboard the Skidbladnir, which will serve as a completely neutral ground and a safe haven for your leaders to talk together without fear of attack.

Please respond most urgently. I hope that you are both willing to attempt this, as I am sure that neither of you has any desire to see bloodshed.

The Supreme Commander also sent out a second message, making a brief put poignant appeal to any foreign powers planning to assist their side of choice, asking them to wait until all diplomatic options had been explored.

President Jacobs angrily paced around his makeshift office. “This is an outrage! Talks of peace?! The people of Great Computers have long appealed to their ruler for the right to chose at least their own officials, but nothing has come of it. The time for words has long past. Now is the time for action!!!”
“Jacobs, sir? May I interject?”
“Of course, General Arches, I’m not some power hungry tyrant. You may speak freely with me.”
“Sir, may I suggest that we explain our position to Supreme Commander Végeirr and inform him of our plight? Perhaps he may be able to help us spread democracy.”
“Maybe…”

(ooc: On Techopia…)

“Send Végeirr my message, and be sure he reads it.”
“Yes, your Supremeness.”

The messenger left on a small, three man passenger craft. The small vessel heads towards the Skidbladnir, Messenger Shitflan is waiting patiently, and reviewing the message:

"To the High Council of the Asgard Union,
The time for peace talks is not now. The men I shall refer to as my enemy have displaced the rightful government on Techopia II. This act was a violation of several Imperial Laws and Decrees. In hopes of restoring peace quickly, any aid you can send to put down this rebellion would be much appreciated.

I personally have talked to the leader of my enemy, but this was before his forces attacked the Empire. He has no qualms about destroying innocents and causing chaos and disarray. Please help us, as, at the moment, we can not help ourselves.

Kasier Ahiezar sat at his chair in his flagship Korv'nevia and listened to his King's transmission and even he was convinced by his acting. His King’s radical message which was sent to both parties was meant to show that Dracious could not be altered in its cause, in truth they had no quell with democracy but Dracious wanted a able strong ally, not a weak and divided one.
Ahiezar went over this third parties message again as well as it was far more important. This was the last thing Dracious wanted, but he knew the effort to be futile so to avoid any arguments with this newcomer he would wait, he pulled his fleet close to Techonia II and would strike at the best moment. Still he did not like the direction this was already heading in.

If you looked at a brightly polished jewel, or perhaps even the unbreakable diamond, you would see brilliance within it's reflective body, the different angles of each shard within bending light to project a most beautiful display at another area. And in the blackness of space, another jewel appeared, shining brightly and almost illuminating the void in it's glory. A small portion of a Republican fleet entering the system.

It consisted of a convoy of newer class vessels, the Patrician-class destroyers that were slowly replacing the various starships of the old regimes, unifying the Republic even more. The large hulls gliding gently and elegantly towards the two planets, taking the middle just like the single vessel that was holding it's course exactly there, however the symbolic nature of the move was most definitly different. The Monarch of Great Computers had sworn allegiance to the mighty Republic, and had joined it's ranks, abdicating the nations sovereignty and becoming part of a bigger whole. Inevitably a smooth transition from sovereign nation to dependant province would take time, and a rebellion only complicated matters.

A junior member of the Senate had been dispatched to bring peace back to the wayward province, and with him he brought his own legion, the Tenth, all hardened veterans of many wars. This commander was Germanicus, still a young man but had already made himself known and established a good foothold in the political scene. And it was he who broadcasted a message to the entire system, ensuring that both planets, as well as all starships within the area, would receive the communique.

Attention

By Decree of the Senate and People of the Republic,

All rebel forces within the area(concerning the democratic revolutionists who currently have control of Techopia II) are to stand down their weapons and retreat to their military installations. Within the day, official legionaries of the Republic shall be dispatched planetside to take charge of the situation, and an official representative of the Republic placed in lawful charge of the planet and its people.

In addition, all monarchist forces(concerning those remaining loyal to the former sovereign of Great Computers, Avalon VII) are to stand down their weapons and retreat to their respective military installations. Within the day, official soldiers and representatives of the Republic shall be planetside to take charge as well.

To all the citizens, soldiers, people, and visitors on both planets hear this: Disorder or disobedience will be met with swift and resolute punishment. Republican law must be respected, as must its word, its authority and its stability observed. To the foreign vessel, which our scans indicate is of Asgard origin, you are to stand down your weapons and shields immeadiatly. We ask that a representative of your craft be sent to our command vessel, The Judicator, so as we may make inquiries into your incursions into Republican territory with a vessel of war.

Let what has been said be set down, and all done as ordered.

Supreme Monarch Avalon stared in absolute disbelief, his jaw hanging loosely, at the video screen on the wall of the Supreme Command Headquarters.

“This is unacceptable!” screamed Avalon. “This is preposterous!!” He finally started to calm himself down. “How can they do this to this country? How can they do this to ME!? To invade another nation while it is at full strength is understandable, but to invade a country during a civil war? That same kind of low and underhanded technique reminds me of, well…me. Sadly, we did join The Republic, and must abide by its rules.”

President Jacobs paced around his office, with all of his diplomatic advisors in the room. He was trying to think through all the debating. Finally, everyone was silent, and a tall, older man spoke.
“This is an outrage! We can not give in, Jacobs, we must resist!”
Another, younger man replied, “Of course not, but the best course of action is to appeal quickly to other nations for help. We can still win this war!”

There was more arguing. Nobody could agree on anything. Finally, Jacobs calmed them all. “We must continue to fight for our rights. We must appeal to others for help, and if they come, we can win! Send a message to the Asgard ship requesting immediate aid. We have seen the Taledonian government and what this so called Republic is, and it’s nothing more than an even larger, and more power hungry dictatorship!! So my fellow citizens, I ask you this day but one question. What do we fight for?”

Numerous communiqués from the two opposing sides were received, and even a ship approached them. None of the responses were surprising, and frankly they had expected them. The usual posturing, rhetorical chest-beating and the like, and as had been expected both sides equally plead for the Asgard's help in defeating one another. No-one aboard the Skidbladnir had ever been under the illusion that it would be easy to get two peoples so set on killing each other to sit on opposite sides of a table instead of a firearm. These matters were put aside however, as the arrival of these new ships changed the situation quite dramatically.

Végeirr was surprised to find an alien power taking control of the situation so quickly and efficiently. Certainly there had been no apparent indication that this place was the domain of a larger power, and he found himself wondering why these warring peoples had not turned to them for help straight away. Maybe they knew that their requests for help in killing each other would not be welcomed, as seemed to be the case. He was also puzzled by the request to lower their shields and power down their weapons, being as they were inactive from their moment of arrival. Just to be sure, he conferred with an engineer to confirm that they were still powered down and that there were no malfunctions.

Either way it seemed likely that these newcomers could resolve this peacefully. Or at least, he hoped they could. Or that they would even try. There was no reason why they shouldn't; after all there was no practical reason why they would want one of their domains to engage in warfare, nor in killing anybody they didn't have to, irrespective of their regard for life.

Now, apparently, they were in the territory of some Republic. This sounded somewhat promising. Despite their recognition of the Asgard ship, Végeirr himself had no reciprocating knowledge of these people, but from what he knew of Midgard cultures at least republics tended to be representative democracies. Though, how a monarchistic society managed to gain representation in such a democracy was beyond his reasoning. Regardless, with their original reason for being here now obsolete, having been taken over by these newcomers, they could just disappear into hyperspace and head for home, leaving them to sort out their own problems. But that would hardly be polite nor a good first impression, and it was this Republic's territory after all - they would follow their wishes and respect their laws, until it became dangerous for them to do so anyway.

So, Végeirr promptly had himself beamed over to the somewhat ominously named Judicator as they had been 'ordered' to do so, alone and unarmed, in spite of the strong protests of the Skidbladnir's crew.

Kasier Ahiezar sat in his chair and brooded. The situation had become more and more complicated by the second. He went over all that had happened, again he brooded. Thinking how he could best benefit from this situation. Finally inspiration struck and a plan formulated in his head, he headed out of his room and towards the docking bay to board his ship. He may not have been invited to any of these “peace” talks, but he was about to change that.

Germanicus may not have been as large as the soldiers he commanded, but so far as Végeirr was concerned they were all equally large. His slight grey frame was short, skinny and frail, and it seemed a wonder he could stand as motionless as he was doing, let alone support his large grey head. His black eyes blinked slowly as he glanced around at his new surroundings. Although his memories dated back a few centuries by now, he had never managed to get used to the disorientation that Asgard beaming tended to instil in its victims. Users, he meant.

The small grey being had nothing on his person aside from a small purple crystal attached to the palm of his hand. Even clothing was a luxury they did without, although with a gender neutral species there wasn't exactly a lot to cover up. He stepped forwards gently, looking up at the man who was three foot taller than he.

His response to the remarks as to their speed was fairly simple, but perfectly reasonable. "Why delay?" he said simply, his voice soft and calm but with a manner-of-fact kind of tone.

"I am Supreme Commander Végeirr of the Asgard Union," he continued. "I bring you greetings on behalf of my people. We came here in response to two separate messages that originated from the planets in this system. It was our hope to try to bring some manner of peace to the region and avoid unnecessary bloodshed, but they were unsurprisingly... resistant to our efforts so far. I offered them our ship, the Skidbladnir, as a neutral place for their respective leaders to talk, but they were not very receptive to the idea. They seem intent on destroying one another."

Meanwhile the Skidbladnir continued to monitor the messages being exchanged all over the place. The faction calling itself the NLF seemed to have taken their lack of response as a sign that the Asgard were either ignoring them or helping their adversaries, when neither could be further from the truth. The captain of the Skidbladnir, Hvatgeirr, had been given his instructions by the Supreme Commander - to delay violence and stand by for instructions.

Greetings President Jacobs,

I am Hvatgeirr, commanding the Skidbladnir. Supreme Commander Végeirr has already boarded the alien vessel, at their request. Only through reasoned discussion can ideological differences be resolved.

Julius cocked an eyebrow. Republican records showed the Asgard as being a single, small group, and now somehow there was a Union of them. Perhaps different nations of the species....or different sects within one entity vieing for power, never-the-less, it was unimportant.

"I welcome you to my humble vessel. And I can assure you, Commander, that peace shall be brought about, with or without bloodshed. I'll assume the Loyalist forces will co-operate with me quite easily, so that leaves the ball in the revolutionists' court. They can either lay down their arms like ordered and prepare for representatives of the Senate, or..."

He was cut off by a junior officer who had just ascended the five stairs seperating the bridge catwalk with the lower bridge where all the instruments and controls sat. The officer, dressed in a grey uniform and with a few colored pins on his right breast, saluted crisply.

"Sir, the communications were sent out as ordered. Avalon has agreed to our terms and is awaiting the vessel we have dispatched to his world; whereas the revolutionists insist they were never apart of the Republic, and will continue to defy authority."

Understanding the situation, Julian nodded, already formulating his next move in his head. "Very well. As the official representative of the Senate within the province, I declare the revolutionists enemies of the Republic. They are now a rebel force. Have a second destroyer ready to land on the rebel planet should the first sent there not be enough. Also, order all vessels to activate shields and power up their weapons."

"Yes, sir." The officer saluted again and returned to the lower level to relay the orders.

Germanicus turned back to the small alien, a look of sympathy about him. "Like I said, it was up to the rebels, who have chosen bloodshed it appears. My men will need me on the surface to co-ordinate the invasion, so I shall bid you farewell. Return to your vessel, and move towards the loyalist planet. Speak with the officer I have sent there, as well as Avalon if you wish, though he may not be as sociable as the former. You are now a guest of the Republic, enjoy your time, I shall join you again when I have suppressed this uprising against Republican authority."

President Jacobs watched the monitor intensely. He was watching for any movement from the Taledonian cruiser. He knew that he would not be able to defeat this enemy though, but he could make a point.

An advisor ran into the room, out of breath and frantic, “Sir! The Taledonians are arming their weapons and raising shields! What are your orders?”

“I want to talk with this Taledonian commander, and demand to speak with his superiors. The last order still stands, even if I’m onboard the ship. Prepare a vessel for me immediately and send a message to the cruiser informing them of my decision to visit them.”

To: Julius

Our leader, President Jacobs, has decided that he will speak to you and your superiors on the matter of the sovereignty of the nation of Exasperated Peons. He is boarding a vessel to able to come to your ship and speak personally to you, and your superiors through your communication systems. He would very much appreciate it if you could allow him to dock inside your vessel.

(ooc: On Techopia)
Avalon waited patiently for the arrival of the Taledonian craft to arrive. He was not terribly pleased by the entire situation, but knew he had no choice. Any sort of military resistance against either nation was futile with his entire military being reequipped. He also knew that he had joined The Republic, and there were plenty of advantages for being a part of it.

“The Taledonian vessel has entered the atmosphere, sir, and should arrive here shortly.”
“Good, hopefully this matter can be…”
Avalon didn’t finish his statement, as it was impossible due to the deafening explosion behind him. As he turned around, Avalon was blinded by the brilliant explosion coming from the Royal Palace. As grateful as Avalon was he was not to be in the palace, which he would have been had the Taledonians not sent a vessel to retrieve him, his feelings quickly reversed as a large, metal support beam that was launched from the building hit him in the hip and pinned him to the ground.

Secondly, I don't remember sending a vessel to retrieve Avalon VII. I dispatched a second starship to Techopia that would land and disembark troops. They wouldn't take anybody off the planet, but instead secure it and await the arrival of Julius, so I'm not sure which craft you're talking about.

A small, messenger ship leaves Great Computers space, and is heading towards the Taledonian ship. This small ship is not armed, and a transmission is sent to the Taledonian ship, and it says that a messenger has come with a special message for Germanicus.

The ship was launched beforehand. Plus, the capital (where Avalon is) is called Techopia, the planet with the rebels is Techonia II)

The orbital defense guns start firing at the Taledonian Cruiser.

(ooc: Back on Techopia)

Avalon VII was rushed to a medical center, where his broken ribs, hip, and femur could be taken care of. His left lung had also collapsed on impact, and he was losing blood quickly.

Now one why the explosion happened, or who did it. All they knew is that the planet was unsafe now, and Great Computers authorities forbid the Taledonian vessel to land.

Ahiezar fought back the indignation of being ignored while he flew back to his dragonship in the fleet next to Techonia II. He ordered his fleet away from Techonia II since he appeared to not be involved in this conflict. Once again he sent messages to Dracious detailing the situation.
Ahiezar lieutenant Alzohar approach Ahiezar after he entered the ship. “Great Kaiser sire shall we engage the rebel forces on Techonia II?” Ahiezar looked down on his shorter lieutenant.
“No we have not been involved here yet so we shall not.... yet.”

As Julius moved towards the exit of the bridge, he stopped halfway along the catwalk and looked down at one of the control consols. "What is that?" He harshly questioned the man stationed there.

"Um....It's a starships, sir."

"And you didn't report this vessel to me why?" He snarled.

The crewman shirked and blanched, "I assumed it was just a merchant vessel, one that was a bit more armed than normal due to the increase in pirate activity around this sector."

"You dunce! Scan them immeadiatly, retrieve all relevant data, then demand that they move to the surface, to Techopia. I shall meet Avalon, The Asgard and these people there once I have finished on Techopia II."

"Sir!"

The door shut smoothly behind him as he left, the quiet of the corridor before him contrasting the beepings and buzzings of the bridge, but he didn't linger on the thought long, knowing it was about a five minute voyage to the nearest hanger bay.

In the inkyness of space, the destroyer Vigilance continued to slide towards the rebel planet unimpeded. Its shields had been raised, however, and its weapons charged, just as ordered, and a wise move it was. The turrets and orbital defence stations around the planet began to open up, their fire hitting a good distance away from the ships hull on the shielding that shone blue for seconds until it dissappeared again after every strike.

"They've got a bloody cheek, opening fire on a Republican starship." Commented the Captain, one Vertius Harolditus. "Target their defences and destroy them, let them know what is coming for them. Perhaps those on the surface will show some obedience when they see us sweep through their spacial defences."

And as the command was passed down, the Vigilance began its own assault. The modular vessel was armed with Taledonian weaponry, the giant energy cannons that adorned its surface releasing massive blasts of blue energy that swiftly moved towards their targets, joined by red and green energy in smaller blasts from the turbo laser batteries and the energy blasters. The shields frequently appeared in blue areas of the bubble that surrounded the ship as the enemh continued their attack, the counterstrike moving unimpeded through the energy shielding.

To: Dracian Vessel

We have spotted your vessel, and you have been commanded to the surface of Techopia. There you shall stay until the active representative of the Senate arrives.

To: Transport Vessel

General Germanicus is currently en-route to Techopia II to regroup with his army and will be unable to meet with you at this time. You are to move to Techopia and await his arrival there.

Meanwhile, the Glorious Realm began its descent over the capitol of Techopia, the loyalist planet. Explosions had been detected coming from the palace, something that wasn't promissing, and now permission to land was being denied, not that it was required. Senate authority overpowered provincial authority. All the same, perhaps it would be best not to land, so the starship simply moved lower, resting in the air not much higher than the tallest structure in the city. From its body came many vessels, transports carrying thousands of soldiers to various areas of the city, expecially the palace which seemed to be the hot zone. Stability and order would be returned in no time at all.

We have heard of your distress and we will be dispatching the 3rd Naval Armada led by Grand Admiral Sith Lord Nejaa Halcyon. Estimated time of arrival is 3 hours from the dispatch of this message.

Yours Sincerely,
Grand Admiral Darth Bane,
Imperial Regent and 2nd Supreme Commander, Imperial Navy.

3rd Imperial Armada

Lord Halcyon eagerly paced the bridge of his flagship as his fleet hurtled towards Techonia II to crush the rebels. Resistance was not expected to be heavy but nonetheless they had brought along with them their heavy guns should the rebels try anything stupid...

To: All involved nations
We would request that delegates from all the involved nations come to the Techopia Moon Base and discuss possible solutions and alternatives to this war. We have a special message that is to be given in person to General Germanicus when he is available, after which the conference will dispense.

Avalon VIII walked down the catwalk to the command center of the space port. He was acting head of the Republican province until his father was in governing condition. So this crisis was in his hands. Perfect, he thought.

Avalon VIII stepped into the control room and loudly stated, “This is the temporary state building, seeing as how my father failed to protect his assets. All of you are to continue normal operations in the back-up control room.” He paused momentarily to watch the men and women slowly leave the control room. He then proceeded to the communications station, where he sat comfortably. “This will do, for now. And now, to inform the galaxy of what’s going on here, those poor saps.”

To: Taledonia, the Asgard Union, Dracious, and Mationbuds

This is the acting governor of the Republican Province, Avalon VIII. The situation on Techopia is grim. The Royal Palace has been bombed, and my father is being rushed to an emergency medical treatment center. I urge you all to come join my delegate, who seems to have already contacted you, on the Techopia Moon Base. There you can quickly coordinate an effective attack on the rebels, as my representative has valuable information about the rebels.

The orbital guns and land-based guns continued to fire on the Taledonian cruiser. The order was given to prepare for a landing of the Taledonians. There was a broadband message sent out.

Order #12

Apparently someone had made a mistake. The next message reaffirmed it.

Kaiser Ahiezar received the message from the Taledonia ship, so they have finally been noticed… about time. He turned to another onboard screen and ordered “Alright then all ships turn about and set a course for Techopia.” Ahiezar said with unenthusiastic tone in his voice. Ahiezar still didn’t like the way things where turning out with this entire war, change was coming and it was his job to prevent that change. ‘Still’ Ahiezar thought to himself ‘At least the rebels will be crushed with absolutely no aid against such a large force they didn’t stand a chance.’
He then received the message from Avalon VIII, he sent a message to Alzohar “Trusted lieutenant, I would like you to take a Warhelm and head to the Techopia Moon Base and keep me posted on events.”
The Dracious fleet headed towards Techopia while a single Warhelm ship docked at the Moon Base.

Back aboard the Skidbladnir once again, Végeirr and Hvatgeirr watched the developing situation with growing discontent, letting the Skidbladnir's sensors monitor every detail of the conflict. These beings clearly had no interest in peace, as not one of the parties had even attempted to achieve such. Nobody here had expected it to be easy to convince them not to kill each other, despite the irrational nature of such a statement, but they were fast becoming barbarians without a hope. Such was the way of the universe, unfortunately.

"Perhaps we should install the planetary shields now," an engineer suggested in an attempt to break the silence that had befallen the bridge.

"It is too late for that," Végeirr shook his head slowly. "Now that the violence has begun, it will be very difficult to stop it. We have failed."

"Maybe we should force them to sit down and make peace," Hvatgeirr suggested calmly.

Végeirr turned his head to give him a squinted glare with his big, black eyes. "I trust that was in jest, Captain," he said, and then turned back again. "No. We offered a reasonable alternative to a violent solution and they chose violence anyway. There is nothing more that may be done for these beings."

"We are leaving then?" Hvatgeirr asked.

"We are leaving," Végeirr confirmed.

The Skidbladnir left its position equidistant between the two planets, its mission failed. It circled around the newcomers and passed them by, accelerating off into deep space. As a hyperspace window formed ahead of it, the ship launched itself into it like a cat pouncing onto a mouse, and both the ship and the window vanished.

Subject: Meeting on Techopia Moon Base

We would wish to send our heartfelt condolocenses to all affected by the terrorist bombing and we utterly condemn such blatant acts of terrorism and once again we pledge to crack down on them as hard as possible. We wish your father a speedy recovery so he can resume his duties.

We will of course send a delegation, led by me to attend the meeting at Techopia Moon Base.

3d Imperial Armada

After holding a meeting with the respective ship captains and commanders, it was decided that a third of the fleet would head to engage the enemy in a quick skirmish under the command of Vice Admiral Thompson.

The other quarter of the fleet would escort Lord Nejaa to the meeting at Techopia Moon Base.

After the meeting was dismissed, the fleet broke formation and went on their respective ways.

Nejaa and his delegation headed towards Techopia and arrived shortly afterwards. He was beamed down onto the moonbase, with a full complement of the highly elite Dicter Warrior Commandoes and a team of Imperial Diplomats and Naval Officers...

Meanwhile...

Elements of the 3rd Imperial Fleet emerged out of hyperspace, centering around the twin Executor-II Class Super Star Destroyers. The armada was surrounded by a trio of Twilek Class Motherships which covered the armada with an extra shield layer the power of two planetary shields.

A message was sent as weapons were energized and directed at enemy positions on Techopia II.

This is Admiral Thompson of the Imperial 3rd Armada. Surrender at once or face immediate and utter destruction.

You have one standard hour to reply. And nil reply or hostile action will lead to the consequence stated above. You have been warned...

"Mationbuds?" Gaius snarled at the hologram that was addressing him, "What the hell is Palpatine's lackeys doing in Republican territory?! We have a shaky enough truce, do they wish to start something?!"

"That's what the scans indicate, sir. It is clearly a Mationbuds battle fleet, and intercepted communications seem to side them with us, at least." spoke the shimmering image of the Captain.

"And this...meeting. You said they shall attend it, with the rest? Then send somebody there...a...a centurion! I shall be planetside shortly, tell the fleet to form up around Techopia II to ensure no rebel reinforcements arrive to give them air superiority for even a second."

The General's shuttle moved quickly through space, surrounded by an unending swarm of fightercraft that made attacking the shuttle nearly impossible, even for the most sophisticated A.I. systems in existence. The convoy of small craft moved to join the destroyer that was still muscling its way through the planets defences with some ease, the superior weaponry and shielding of the battle craft fairing well against the defending station.

The blasts from the orbital defense cannons splashed harmlessly against the super star destroyers' mighty shields. For now, the Imperial and Victory Star Destroyers were holding out, returning fire in the form of a spread of Proton and Concussion Missiles along with blasts from ion cannons and turbolaser bolts.

The Super Star Destroyers aided with the firing of a Nova Torpedo at each enemy orbital defense gun.

Meanwhile 2 VenatorII Star Destroyers entered the planet's atmosphere and unleashed a deadly array of Turbolaser fire, launching 200 TIE Interceptors to eliminate rebel positions.

They landed on the planets surface, deploying a total of 4 AT-TEs and 4 AT-ATs along with 200,000 Imperial stromtroopers with armor complements including hover tanks, artillery pieces... They were led by a battalion of the highly elite Dicter Warriors, crack troopers that formed the backbone of the Imperial Special Forces unit.

(OOC: Ok, Mationbuds, some things. Your numbers are rather...large. Now I'm not disputing your ability to have them, but it's...large. Large numbers usually make for poor RPs in situations like these. If you could reduce your forces drastically, and RP more of a battle like I'm doing(not just blasting my way through and landing on the planet in one post), it would make for better story, which is the important thing.)

Alzohar entered into the moon base standing with the others that had arrived. He felt awkward being taller then most there. He brushed his long black hair back in apprehension, a lot had been pushed on him here and he hopped he would make the Kaiser proud.

The rest of the Dracious forces entered into Techopia air space ready to descend onto the planet. Ahiezar set up communications with Techopia while he watched the battle commencing over Techonia II through a video feed and sighed to himself.

A small shuttle had left the command ship and was en route to the moon base, the last craft to leave the fleet, as the rest of it began turning its attention on the rebel defences, their massive guns all firing on the weapons platforms and satellite systems, they would blind the planet's defenders. And with the rest of the fleet now firing, the initial destroyer had the opportunity to slip past into the atmosphere and move to the surface.

There was no order to be merciful to the rebels, and none was given. Coming over the capital city, the starship took little thought for civilian life, preferring instead of unleash a storm of energy that went crashing into the streets and buildings, smashing through everything it came in contact with. And this barrage continued for an entire hour, until the city was but a smouldering pile of rubble. Still, there could be survivors, and they had amble defence on the ground now.

The belly of the vessel began to open, and while the destroyer itself hung over the ruined city, hundreds of transport vessels descended to various areas, Republican legionaries disembarking and taking up strategic positions, waiting for the final orders to sweep the city and quell the rebellion once and for all.

Meanwhile, the transport had landed at the moon base, and the representative of the legion entered the conference room and quickly took note of everything and everyone there.

"I am Centurion Vorelas, I speak for General Germanicus, and therefore the Senate and People of the Republic." He moved to the head of the table and sat down. "Now then, what is the meaning of this meeting?"
