I am new as a nation, but as an RPer, I've had one field I've always been troubled by: missile defence. I have my strengths in the navy, but satellite weaponry and/or missile defence has always puzzled me. Are there any good guides, or a kind NSer who would explain, in a fair bit of detail, space warfare/missile shields?

I have designed a Multi Purpose Satellite System known as OBSAT System is somthing ive worked on for months since before I joined the NS World. Its primary Aim is to provide a nation with Advanced Communications on the Battlefield but a secondary aim is Missile Defence System.

OBSAT Works via Satellites and in its Missile Defence Role it simply basically locks onto the incoming Missile, calculates all possible targets and locks Intercept Missiles. Once Interceptor Lock-On is Confirmed all you have to do is hit the Fire Button and away it shoots.

First, a missile shield is VERY VERY VERY expensive.

But, to the point, missile shields work in layers.

Innermost, around precious targets, you have something similar to shipboard CIWSs. This is second on the list
Next layer is the longer range ground based anti missile units (often missiles of their owns, or lasers if you so please), like the American patriot. This is the first one you build. It is simple and reasonably effective if you pull it off well.
Beyond this is where you should put the satellites and the like, taking out ballistic missiles as they are at the apex of their trajectory. This is the final, and most complex, layer

Of course the most effective way is to prevent the missiles from be launched at all.

(The order I gave you for construction is a combined complexity/expense and usefulness for protecting the whole country) Others may disagree with me, but thats my two cents. Not that my own country has a missile shield, but this is how I'd do it.

It's a regional and political alliance, and most of the nations of the alliance already have advanced command and control systems as well as multi-tier missile defense systems of their own, which the alliance links together under a cooperative umbrella.
