After several millenia of domination,the USA had spread its sphere of influence, dominating several of the systems nearest to Earth by virtue of its powerful naval and spaceguard assets,using its political and economic power to suppress the free movement of humanity originating from other countries,as well as monopolise the use of resources from those systems.
However, this was eventually broken by a political and economic combine of the great powers of China,India,Japan,Indonesia and Russia, who combined military and political power to oppose the USA,eventually developing wormhole and phase gate technologies to rival that of the American Warp drive technologies of the time,offering potent travel technologies that allowed countries to escape from the influence of the American government.
However,as the race for the stars began,with the 3 competeing technologies resulting in an economic and then military competition of war, it devolved into the 1st System War,with the forces of the superpowers of India and China providing a powerful counterweight each to the Americans,who were opposed by an alliance of smaller nations and empires, as well as several megacorporations.
India and China remained neutral,hoping to weaken the axis of smaller powers and eventually annex their star systems,while weakening the USA at the same time.In the process,the Americans used powerful biological weapons and terraforming systems to commit mass atrocities and ecological damage upon the planets of opposing nations,often using it as an excuse to perform regime change,claiming that the nations were guilty of population abuse,much as the USA was.
Among those that suffered the most were those colonies derived from Singapura,who inhabited the galacted edgewards systems of the human sphere of expansion,their entire planetary ecosystens transformed into deathworlds inimical to human life or dead worlds devoid of life and atmosphere.
Eventually, the war came to a close with more than a quadrillion humans dead, and the victimised nationsa a shattered periphery on the great powers.
For more than 5 centuries,the Unified Stellar Americas preyed upon the smaller powers,engaging in piracy and banditry,breaking alliances and ignoring the demands of the Human League, engaging in orgies of destruction and death that cleared entire star systems,even beginning hostilities with non-human life forms as well as others of terragenic origins,starting the First Human-Alien War,culminating in an American victory at the Battle of Zulu's Drift against the alien Tau,who had sought to counter American expansion into their home systems,and their resulting enthrallment under occupying forces.
Now,the Itapa Human League as a whole has diversified and expanded,seeking consolidation to counter a threat from beyond the universe,encountered by the Bharat Condeferacy at the edge of the Andromeda galaxy,which has started to consume entire worlds,in the process creating a psionic gulf that prevents astropaths from transmitting their thoughts and creating ripples of gravity so powerful in their wake that entire flotillas are swept off their orbit.
Furthermore,strange inorganic artificial life forms hostile to all forms of biological life,and unfriendly to overtures by terragen AIs,have started to increase in numbers,often at the edges of territory on the frontiers of American expansion.
Now,the time has come to consolidate the diaspora of humanity into a single unit for the sake of survival,and the piracy of banditry of the Americans,coupled with their corrupt,decadent culture,has to be placed under the unified rule and supervision of the League.
The victimised planets of so long ago are festering with rebellion and rumblings of war,the societies are prepared for the conflict of vengeance,long foretold by the AI Prophets of Terra Nova,and the planet of Old Earth waiting to be reclaimed from the hands of the Americans.For whoever controls Earth controls the spiritual centre of humanity,a uniting symbol glorified in myths and legends,the source of all genetics of terragen life,and can unite the humans into an army strong enough to ally with other sentient beings to confront the great Enemy from beyond.
