The Story So Far
A series of bombings have torn through the Samtonian capital and outlying regions, killing a large number of government officials and bureaucrats. The army, after requesting the dissolution of the Constitution, has begun to forcibly shut down media outlets and massacre protestors. Things don't look too good.
What is This?
This is a semi-closed RP detailing the events that will spiral into a civil war- Samtonia, a stable first-world nation has been precariously balancing on a system of governance for too long that has serious (some might even say monumental) flaws in it.

It's not closed- I'm not making this RP invite-only. If you want to post the reaction of your media or discussions among your private citizens or government fine by me- but. There's always a but. If you want to join in a large and meaningful way, I'm going to either need to talk with you over IMs, on this thread, or through TGs (in fact, TG me no matter what that you want to talk to me). I want the people heavily involved in this to have been at least partially checked by me- that way I know the quality I can expect from heavy participants.
Current Participants
Factions:
Democratic Republicans: The conservative elements of the government, the majority of the military. The hippie-hating, God-fearing, commie-punching, true-blooded patriots. Have a penchant for secret police, religious discrimination, and gunning down protestors in the street.
The Constitutionalists: Liberal elemnts of the government, the middle-level bureaucracy, the extremist politicals from back-rooms and alleyways, the greatest share of the people. Stand for socialism, atheism(though not mandatory), upkeep of the Constitution, and freedom of speech- as long as that speech is the kind that they tolerate, comrade. Like secret police, executions, prisons.
The Deists: As of yet, litle is known outside from the fact they worship multiple Gods and like burning either bodies or people. Lots of bodies or people.
