Official USSW 2nd BN/VII ABN Request to Wanderjarian Forces in North Calaveras
As friends in the GUSN, might our two forces patrol together to stop the escalating violence between North Calaveran resistance elements and The PeoplesFreedom forces? At present we don't believe we can control too wide an area by ourselves, although we can liaise closely with the rebels and/or Outer Eugenian elements to ensure a stable occupation; if only we had a zone for such. Might yours suffice, sirs?
Sincerely,
Lt.Col. Rose McGuffin

The head honchos of TPF's intel agency were all ready to receive the briefing. Finally, a man walked in.
" Okay, one my we have been moniotring radio communications in NC for quite some time now."
" We think we have finally picked up on the Rebel Leader's radio communications."
" These messages here state the recent bombings of roads and bridges. Now we have begun to closely monitor them. When he gives his location, we have Special Forces ready to move in for the kill."

The First Marxgrad Declaration of the Calaveras Freedom Congress
The invaders have already killed at least three hundred and fifty thousand human beings and caused untold damage to the nation's infastructure. The death toll would have been tenfold were it not for the resourcefulness of the workers of Calaveras and indispensable humanitarian aid from abroad. All this death and all this suffering! And for what? "Freedom?" The workers now hold the reigns over their own destiny and the presence of TFP forces only strengthens support for the old government. If the TFP invasion was indeed simply a misguided effort to liberate the people of North Calaveras, then they must leave. Every day that even a single TFP soldier stands on Calaveran soil brings more of our people into the armed resistance militias- reactionary formations that are already beginning to weaken and destabilize the very social movements bringing freedom to our country.
If you truly want us to have freedom, then get out now, before it is too late.
The real cause for this invasion was the profit motive- what the government of TPF would call 'capitalism at it's finest.' This is a lost cause. There is an old saying in North Calaveras: "we would rather starve to spite our enemy then starve to make our enemy wealthy." There will never be a place for the invader in our new democratic economy. Your farcical 'elections' have been superseded by our own self-organization.
This war has already cost TPF much in blood and treasure and the cost is only getting higher. It is time to cut your losses. To do anything else will cost us our freedom. It will in the very least cost the TPF economy an untold fortune in both the gold that the capitalists covet and the beloved dead that the widows mourn: Get out now!

OOC: Hey Wanderjar, would you mind my Rangers patrolling alongside your guys? I admit we may be closer to NC than anybody else, but if he shoots off at you or us we'll set the rebels straight of course.;) 'Tis only fair when enforcing a surrender, right?
Not at all, feel free :D

OOC: Great!:) This situation's ICly FUBARed enough without my 300 bopping about the Calaveran countryside @ random just asking to be popped-off @ by somebody claiming more "Red Cred" than us...
IC
"Listen UP!" Lt. Col. Rose McGuffin was in her best "Rain"-camouflaged, field-gray BDU with the soft budyennovka Wagdog used in place of a field cap tucked under her right arm. "We are officially going on patrol Rangers, in the same sector as Wanderjarian troops which are so kindly offering us an AOR in this crazy place. Our orders are simple. We are to assist all parties in honoring the terms of North Calaveran surrender and create the conditions for fair elections to create a new government and facilitate allied withdrawal. Any hostile action against us by North Calaveran rebels is NOT to be tolerated, and you have authorization to use lethal force to repel any attacks; preemptively if necessary. Just because the November Charlies are our technical-comrades, and the Tango Papa Foxtrots the aggressors here as far as Command is concerned, doesn't mean the Brass are going stupid on us." She felt relief at that, since as was they had enough problems...
"Any questions?" There were none, since the mission had already been spelled out and reviewed countless times in the days since 2nd/VII Airborne arriving in North Calaveras by the subordinate officers and (especially) senior NCOs. "Good. Keep the radio nets clear and liaise with Battalion S5..." the unit commisar and their section, although actually more often functioning in the Western-style 'Civil Affairs' role anyway than the Soviet-style 'Political Department' role they also discharged occasionally, "for updated instructions on best to calm the citizenry. Absent this, initiative takes priority as always. Let's move out!"
Within the hour, the 300 Rangers had piled into the 50 ABI armored jeeps provided for the mission from Seventh Army motor pool spare stocks. As they rolled out towards the Wanderjarian Area of Responsibility, the six-man Squads driving as part of two-squad Sections for mutual security tensed up. They checked their gear, everything up to and including Machine Guns (PKMs) or Sniper Rifles (PSLs) or even RPGs (RPG-29s); these being deemed suitable for the patrol work envisioned, mainly as minimally-escalatory in regard to similarly-armed NC insurgents and (especially) neutral civilians. As she rode in the middle of the Rangers' main column, manning the open DShKM roof mount, Lt.Col. McGuffin anxiously thought to herself. How long until somebody here does something stupid, eh girl? She didn't suspect long...

Oberst Holger Hintz spoke before his Battallion of Wanderjarian Marines. They were gathered in a major city under Wanderjarian occupation, where the main Wanderjarian Base was. Daily troops went on long patrols throughout the city and the countryside, and today it was 3rd Battallion, 2nd Brigade (3/2).
"Alright Marines," He spoke before the four hundred heavily armed Marines, "Today is our turn to patrol. This sector is under joint jurisdiction of the Wanderjarians as well as the Wagdogian Rangers. We may even see them along this escapade. Now then, we'll take the main road and proceed to more or less stand guard on various intersections ensuring that we all are accounted for. There should be a platoon on every street corner. If the insurgents make themselves known, we will engage, and eliminate. Move out Platoon Leaders! Get your men and equipment ready!" They did. Immediately 5-ton trucks filled with Marines headed to their respective street intersections for guarding. Other Battallions were handling other sectors, but 3/2 had responsibility in this area. The people gave mixed looks at the Wanderjarians as they drove by, weapons ready and scanning for any possible insurgent activity, some gave a look of hatred, particularly from the many who lost loved ones in the horrendous battles which raged in the early stages of the conflict. The mass suicide charge which had ended the enemy military was a terrible cost to the people, who lost hundreds of thousands of men to that failed mission.
Leutnant Adam Bormann was on his first Campaign as a Wanderjarian Sturm-Marine. He had been in service only a few months, having been almost instantly sent out to sea with the Fleet Force Marines, and was only still getting used to the way to actually run a platoon. Now he had not only led them in combat against the enemy in the intial invasion, he was now preparing to lead them against an enemy which always fought on his own terms, and never followed the typical rules of warfare. It was an enemy whom nobody exactly knew what to make of, but had already cost the lives of several TPF soldiers, however no Wanderjarians to date. No Wanderjarians had yet to fall to the NC forces, and it was hoped optimistically that it could remain this way for the entire war.
He was not so optimistic.
His street, which he was dropped off on, was in a market sector. On either side of the streets were vendors and other stores which provided foods and other services. They were dirty buildings, it seemed, as were all cities around the world. However, these seemed somehow more so, as though they were not cared for properly. Masses of people walked past them, proceeding with their daily lives as they always had. The Wanderjarian Marines, clad in their Integrated Warfighter System equipment, and the BTR-94, which was an APC which was armed with a ZU-23-2 twin 23 mm gun, and a coaxial PKT machinegun and a surveillance radar with a range of up to 20 km against ground targets and 30 km against aerial targets. He called out to one Marine to man the gun, while he sat in the back of the Command Center Bradley, inside which were a series of Communications terminals and other computers, each of which could access the computer inside every Wanderjarian Marines helmet, and allowed the Commander to see what the soldier saw. He wiped sweat from his brow, and continued to monitor the troops on their patrols around the block, while other squads kept position in Sandbagged positions for fortifying against enemy insurgent attacks.
He was confident in his Marines ability to handle anything, but only time would tell if they would actually perform well against the insurgent foes, assuming that they even made themselves visible on this run through the city...

At the moment, I'm mostly helping you spam up this thread.
While no Free Outer Eugenia combatants are involved in this war, an Outer Eugenian organizer and social philosopher named Vandana Goldman helped give rise to a vast social movement that has communalized NC's formerly state-run industries and has made the occupation rather difficult. The occupation forces are currently unable to use any major roads or rail lines to move troops for example because whenever you try, you find thousands of peaceful civilians blocking them with their bodies.
The Calaveran Freedom Congress has also boycotted any elections that are to be overseen by the occupying authorities.
They have basically undermined the legitimacy of this occupation by creating bringing freedom to Calaveran society themselves and at the same time exposing and foiling TPF's attempts to allow his domestic corporations to make a profit from the occupation.

OOC: Fair enough, again you certainly have my soldiers and citizens watching with preliminary approval despite the mission tying our hands to TPF's little diktat. Don't worry about us shooting you on my end though, our orders are strictly "do not fire until fired upon..." However, once we are shot at or otherwise attacked-proper (passive resistance doesn't count in our book), all bets are accordingly off.

Amidst the massive traffic jam that yet another of the anarcho-socialist blockades had created, Lt.Col. Rose McGuffin noticed the five Calaveran Revolutionary Youth approaching. "Hail, comrades!" "Great, young fighters." Lt.Col. McGuffin dared to think that things might just start going reasonably here for once, still sitting in the open machine gun mount on the roof of her armored jeep. Nodding her head only somewhat sharply in their direction, the four Ranger dismounts got out and searched the youths for their weapons, removing the usual assault rifles and such before confirming the kids were clear and stashing the guns in the jeep. "Now, although I must speak with your commanders about whether you have indeed volunteered at this age, that is really my only problem here. Could you lead my Headquarters Company troops to your base, so I may speak with your commander one revolutionary soldier to another; despite the fact the imperialists have their strings tied to us still?" And darn tightly too... Unlike usual, she let that bit of resignation seep through the usual iron control she maintained over her body language.

In news today, the Supreme Emperor has returned from his vacation retreat. His much needed vacation came during a time of very low international stability and conflicts brewing throughout the world. It is speculated that he took this time off to clear his thoughts from all the crap that he has seen go on in the world over the time he has been in office. This is his first vacation he has taken in his two terms in office. He has issued the following statment reguarding how his joint cheifs have run the country over the past few months.
EXCERT FROM STATMENT
"The Joint Chiefs, during this time of instability, has been exemplary. I have to hand it to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for keeping the group set on the one thing that has set our nation apart from most others, keeping our of international affairs.
Thus, it is my honor to give Mr. Larry Williams the Golden Cross. A symbol of honor and respect within the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom."

Well, here goes. Lt.Col. Rose McGuffin knew she was taking a BIG chance here, with both the guerrillas and the occupying forces; not to mention word sent to her via OBSAT datalink of potential Allanean intervention on the way. We have to move NOW before they use their trademark overkill here if so... So she spoke plainly.
"Comrades, Colonel Pierce Sir, please listen to me. You have fought bravely for your Revolution, and stood up to the fascist aggressor. But alas, sometimes the road to Socialism's triumph is indirect; filled with reverses, and temporary wins for the imperialists even if we must still resist as we are able. As things stand now, comrades, your best means of resistance is, in fact, to surrender; to us. If you allow my men to reach each of your bases, and disarm your fighters there prior to escorting them back to our bases shared with the Wanderjarians, we can guarantee your safety.
The Wanderjarians are friends of our main ally, and wouldn't dare harm you if you were under our protection. And I doubt the First Reich of The PeoplesFreedom would be inclined to betray their own ally either, not least when our actions could be presented as a great victory for them thanks to the appearances of the matter.
Surrender to us, come to our base where you can be kept in comfort under our protection, and we may even be able to secure the release of your leader. He will need to stand for elections with the rest of your Communist Party, against those others the Reich and Wanderjarians support; and we have no position for or against the anarcho-communists currently resisting all forces involved. But your chances are a hell of a lot better with us than they are on your own, fighting those who would jump at the chance to wipe you out entirely. Will you let us help you?"
Now, as always with such grave matters, one could hear a widget drop on the other side of the factory. It seemed an inspiring monument to Marxist sentiment; a relic, if one could use such religious terms, to the Revoltion. Hopefully, McGuffin thought, it can stay that way too if this works...

The grainy video image clearly showed a patrol of Wagdogian jeeps with their cargo of armed rangers. Panning and zooming in, the operator could see that they weren't equipped with any guided anti-aircraft missiles. This would prove a big mistake. It was time to make the foreign invaders fear the open skies.
A five ship patrol of Raptor rotary-wing drones hovered more than a mile away, using the optical sensors on the front of the highest altitude drone to identify their targets. As one, the patrol accelerated towards the jeeps, and at a mile and a hlaf distant, opened fire. Each carried two short-range wire-guided kinetic penetrator missiles fitted with a delayed action ten pound HMX warhead, cased in a fragmenting shell. Designed to punch through light armour, the thin sided jeep would offer little protection from the devastating hail of high-velocity shrapnel.
With five missiles streaming towards the patrol, the vehicles closed in, their controlling operators switching to the strafe-enabled 7.62-mm machine guns mounted underneath. In less than a minute, they would be on site, and ready to finish off any survivors.

"Shit!" He shouted, seeing all the dead bodies of civillians and militiamen. "Is everyone alright?" Men waved arms, however he noted flames rising from the BTR-94, and saw the scorched bodies of four men; Wanderjarian men.
"Ah hell," He whispered. "God dammit! Unterofizer Danzig, Where are you?" He shouted for his platoon Sergeant.
"Right over here Leutnant!" The NCO replied, standing up from behind one of the sandbag barricades. "We've lost five men sir, the other forty are alright aside from some small bumps and bruises."
"Good," the Commander replied. "We need to get out of here, I think they might come back. Soldat Hertzer! Give me that PRC!" The Radio Operator ran over to his Platoon Leader.
"Here you go sir," He said, handing him the reciever.
"Thank you. Papa Bear, this is Alpha-Echo 1-6, do you read me?"
"ALPHA ECHO 1-6, THIS IS PAPA BEAR. WE READ. OVER."

"Papa Bear, did you read the last part? We have casualties, repeat, five KIAs."
"WE HEAR YOU LEUTNANT. MEDICAL TEAMS WILL BE ENROUTE. CARRY OUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT. OUT."
"Roger," The Leutnant replied weakly. "Out. Alright guys, we have to go into each of these buildings to find weapons. If anyone has guns, arrest them. If they run, blast 'em. It was the first time in nearly a decade that the Shrike bomber had been used in an active combat role against a hostile foreign power. Designed for high-speed low altitude precision bombing, the Shrike was the smallest of the McLeodian bomber arsenal.
The 28th Squadron, reknowned for its actions against rebel naval forces in the Third McLeodian Civil War, was given the honour of leading the first manned mission into North Calaveras. The attack formation consisted of three waves of four aircraft. The lead aircraft, Gold Flight, carried a mixture of ultra-high speed anti radiation missiles to tackle enemy SAM and AA sites, and medium range ram-jet boosted anti-aircraft missiles. Blue Flight, coming in next, carried the major strike weapons. Each of the four aircraft carried two cluster-bomb shaped fuel-air weapons, designed to slow and glide over a long distance, spraying a fine mist of fuel into the atmosphere. A phosphorus flare would then be used to ignite the fuel, causing a massive thermobaric explosions, flattening and burning anything within a five hundred foot radius.
The final flight, Red Flight, was simply there to polish off anything of interest that was still standing. The front bomb-bay carried a rotary launcher fitted with four GPS guided high explosive AGMs, and the read carried the nastiest surprise of all. A delayed action munition dispenser would cover the ground around the base with a mixture of fused, pressure sensitve, and false sub-munitions, designed to disrupt rebuilding and rescue efforts.
They had their target, and they were now just twenty minutes from the Wanderjarian base. Flying low, using terrain avoidance systems, they should blend into the surrounding countryside until it was too late to do anything but run and hide.

Blue, kick it into full burner. We'll make a hole in the defences, you guys punch right on through. Red, stand easy, this place could be too hot for a second strike wave. In fact, divert to secondary targets, find those Wagdog patrols. Red One, you have full NIRTSSAT authority. Good hunting"
Seconds later, Gold flight switched to a line abreast formation, and popped up to firing positions. A total of twelve UHARM missiles streaked off towards the base, aimed at the Gepards fire control radars. A second wave of thirty-two Anaconda missiles ripped skyward, each tracking in on the outclassed and out-performed F/A-18s at speeds well over Mach 3 and rising. Guided by a combination of NIRTSSAT radar and turbulence tracking then a short range high-accuracy millimetre radar system, they would accurately engage at over fifty miles. This close, they would cause chaos.
Gold Flight broke away, flying perpendicular to their approach path, as Blue Flight came through behind them. In less than thirty seconds they would be at their launch points, and then all sorts of bad hell would break loose. Inside each bomber, the crew ran final weapons checks, powering up each device and calibrating them against the aircrafts internal systems. Of the sixteen devices, three failed initial testing, two of these passed after a hot reboot, and the remaining device failed, butwould be dropped anyway, just in case it detonated on impact and added to the destruction.

Pretty damn popular round. My bombers are miles away from this, and will be long gone before you can catch them. The Base was filled with Gepard Anti-Aircraft "tanks", which caught onto the enemy attack as soon as the missiles were launched. However the people inside would not normally be quick enough to launch the missiles and activate the 2 x 35 mm autocannons before being destroyed by the enemies missiles. However due to FutureForce Warrior technology, the Bradley Fighting Vehicles which were lined up along side these AA tanks were quite able to deal with this. They had a personal CIWS system interlinked into their functionality as part of the next generation of IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). While normally designed to prevent RPGs from destroying them, enemy aircraft missiles could be targetted as well by their computers. They were. The gatling guns on the Bradleys opened fire immediately, all several hundred of them in concert to take down the enemies missiles while the Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer Gepards fired their own ordinance (Stinger Missiles and their autocannons). Also, Behemoth IIIs fired their own Stinger Contigent so soon the sky was filled with anti-aircraft missiles, heading rapidly at the ill-fated OPFOR Air squadron.
Meanwhile, Red Squadron immediately opened fire upon their enemies at very close range with their Air-to-Air missile boxes. The enemies which survived would then be ruthlessly hunted down by the now quite aware Carrier Air Groups which were scrambled to find any other hostile aircraft. The enemy had made the mistake of attacking when the Wanderjarians were already expecting attack from another enemy airforce. Poor timing could seriously damage an operations effectiveness, and this was a lesson their foe would learn harshly this day.
Dozens of F/A-18s took to the skies whilst F-99 Fighters also took off, all to intercept any survivors of the combat air group.

The column wound its way southward, still heading for Wanderjarian territory. The hours passed as the vehicles idled and some of the troops marched. OOC:
1) You shot down every single high speed anti-radiation missiles without loss? Unlikely, since they are low altitude, but fine.
2) Red squadron should be nearly non-existant, those Anacondas are fast and deadly.
3)Stingers are short range, low speed, and not great at head-to head engagements, so i can out-run them easily.
4) Not a chance am i deleting anything. My main force has launched yet. Good luck hitting stuff with a small visual cross-section, nearly zero radar return, and very little thermal output.
5) The base must be huge to house 100,000 men and 1,00 SMBTs, as well as your hundreds of Bradleys and Gepards. CIWS won't cover that in its entirety, so at most ten-percent of your force will even be in effective combat range of my bombers. So you can fill the sky with missiles all you want, I'm flying the other way.
<Blue Flight>
"Blue Flight, Blue One, launch and break, launch and break"
It took just five seconds for the bay doors to snap open and each bomber to launch its deadly payload. Considered the most destructive conventional weapon in the McLeodian armoury, the glide-trajectory fuel-air explosive. Sixteen of the surfboard shaped ceramic projectiles deployed stubby winglets and raced across the now blinded gunners, happily wasting ammunition shredding thin air. At this speed, there was now five seconds until a huge fireball would engulf a large portion of this base.

The first of the Shrikes turned again, away from the chasing aircraft, and descended until they were flying just fifty to one hundred feet above the ground, accelerating well past the sound barrier. At this altitude, the Hornets would struggle to catch up, and with a few jinks and turns, they would soon be out of range.
Gold Four was unlucky. His map didn't show the terrain feature that forced his autopilot into a sudden ascent, right into the path of a stream of ground fire. The large caliber cannon rounds blew away most of the starboard wing and engine nacelle. The craft, now completely unstable, snap rolled to the left before slamming at very nearly Mach 1 into a hillside. The fireball was huge as the aircrafts remaining fuel immolated what was left of the wreckage. By the time the fires died down, there would be little trace left of the multi-million pound bomber.

OOC: A small raid, eh? Well, that might stand, but I don't see why you're so gung-ho here. I'm helping NC by preventing TPF from going all Das Reich on his country or such. Sometimes, one has to tell the occupiers what they want to hear in order to do that and prevent WORSE than occupation from happening. That's what I'm doing, or does that make me one of the guilty too now, eh?
Seriously, your reasoning for these attacks escapes me entirely if your on NC's side; and I really don't see what your profit is from attacking me here as an independent. So, again, why? No I won't leap into attacking you without proof, but isn't that what you're essentially doing here?
Not really. See, I'm here to help the NC people gain independance. With the peacekeepers, which is what I see you as, removed from the region, it opens up TPF for direct attacks. It's easier to fight for his independance without being held up trying to deal with non-hostile forces. A few raids here and there, and a couple of big strikes should weaken resolve to stay in a foreign country for little gain to the country.
Besides, if TPF goes Das Reich, I can really go to town. Been a while since I've utterly destroyed an occupation force.

WE are now sending 300,000 troops, 1,500 ZTZ-99 tanks, and 100 MIG 23 fighters inside the Calaverian Capital and airport. Our occupation will be used to ensure that protesters are not killed since apparantley this WAS your job but you could not do it. This is a harsh warning, fire upon unarmed protesters again and you shall deal with not only the Calavarian Guerrilla's but Thakuria as well.

Doing this will be an act of war. Keep that in mind while you do this.
OOC: @McLeod03: You said you were flying just above the treeline, that gives you almost no ability to out run them unless you want to pull up so fast you stall yourself into the ground, assuming you increase thrust, (or your pilot blacks out from the tremendous Gs of such a maneuvre, whichever you wish to rp occuring is fine.). Also, the SA-2 Stinger can fly some 14 miles high I believe, so out running it from so low would be an enormous challenge. As to your missiles attacking my fighters, my apologies mate, I did not realize you were attacking them. However, by the time you did target Red Squadron, you would have already passed them. Thus my men are behind you firing at your aircraft. The base part is a bit of a god mod, so I apologize for that (I'm trying to do about nine things at once now, taking an online test, writing this, and helping a friend write a term paper on whether the Battle of Iwo Jima was a turning point in the pacific or not.)
Anyhow, More or less your squadrons I'm assuming are coming in from one direction? Then it wouldn't really matter, because the CIWS would catch your missiles en route (That and those miniguns have quite a range).

OOC: In theory, missiles will fly slower low down, and the maximum range I can find is eight kilometres (five miles). The Shrike is based around an updated and uprated version of the TSR.2 concept, capable of supersonic speeds at low levels. You'd be at near maximum range anyway, i'm not stupid enough to get right up close to a defended base and engage. UHARMs can attack from around 50 miles, and Anacondas, as previously stated, a range of about the same.
I'd be looking at being about twenty miles from your base when you discoered me, fifteen when I engaged, and five when Blue squadron popped off its weapons. That means Blue would be unlikely to get hit, but is in danger. Gold already lost one, assuming some form of exterior base defence / golden BB type scenario. Red is pretty much safe. You're right, its a kick ass base defence, IF i was stupid enough to fly right over the top of it.
Miniguns have a range of about three miles at the most, and at that range, hitting anything is a minor miracle. If you opened fire when Gold did, as you stated, you've just fille dthe sky with lead, and damn near run out of ammo, especially at the front, to engage the bombs now incoming. Quit whining, start RPing.
And as for Iwo Jima, not in my opinion. I would have said Midway was more. But thats a little off topic.

TPF had said it was fine that I had observed with my 1,800 E.R. units however, it seems that this did not deter your violent ways, we shall buff up our military presence to ensure the safety of the citizens, we are only increasing presence of troops already there, so you will not betray their trust once more.

The slaughter of their Calavarian neighbors in a protest fueled their hatred of these capitalist invaders. Had not the capitalists their own people to exploit? Why must they believe that other nations wish to fall under their neo-liberal rule? Let us hope that the road to the capital will prove successful, the last thing we need is a fire fight, the Wandejar forces had been expecting us. However, it is imperative that they aknowledge that we are partisans for the peace and only wish to ensure that the people do not suffer from this madness no longer. The Second Marxgrad Declaration of the Calaveras Freedom Congress
Industrial Democracy has come to North Calaveras but it seems that the occupying powers are dead set on imposing a government of their choice on the workers of our nation. They cloak their true intentions in demands for 'free elections' that they insist on 'overseeing.' We will never allow hostile regimes that have murdered nearly 400,000 of our people such control over our political lives. They know that the vast majority of North Calaverans will refuse to participate in such a farce- they know that their brand of 'free election' will ensure their continued power over us.
North Calaveras will not be ready for truly free elections until she has a new constitution. The constituent organizations of the Calaveras Freedom Congress have been laying the groundwork for a constitutional convention, and the national elections that will follow immediately thereafter. We welcome neutral election observers from all countries. The Errikan Empire fully agrees with your demand for a constitution, something which we fully believe to be a necessary part of a stable republic. Of course, in order for this to be worth doing, it must serve to protect the life, liberty, and property of all, not just a minority at the expense of the majority and not just a majority at the expense of the minority; thus, should the current occupiers approve of this motion, the Errikan Empire would like to send advisors to this meeting.
Errikland

Errikan observers will be welcome- the meeting is open to all, though speaking privileges throughout most of the proceedings will be reserved for the locality and soviet delegates who will be combining the various drafts presented to them by their constituencies. If by 'property rights' you mean the legal framework that allows wealthy individuals to steal the labor of the working class, then you will probably be disappointed. Most of us hold that capitalism is nesseserilly a system that protects the privileges of a minority at the expense of the human rights and well-being of the majority.

OOC: Alright Wanderjar, we've argued enough about it. This is my last OOC on the topic. Are you going to ignore that attack, or post some losses? So far I've seen nothing, and taken some that strictly speaking wouldn't have happened yet. So far, my cowardly attack seems to have done diddly squat. Also, BVR misiles won't work against TERFLR aircraft. The radar cluttler will be immense, you won't get a lock.
<North Calaveras>
Red Flight had made it out unscatherd. Being further away, they had aborted their assault on the Wanderjarian base much earlier, and raced out from under the noses of the circling defenders. It would take five minutes for them to be out of NC airspace, and back over international waters. Another half an hours flying would put them at their tanker rendevous, and then the long flight home awaited.
Further inland, Gold Flight, minus Gold Four, were also now putting serious distance between themselves and their pursuers. Lighter now, burning off their fuel and without their main weapons, they were faster, flying well over the sound barrier, dodging around settlements and any hostile radar sites. A pre-determined left turn and a reduction in speed whilst flying this low would lose them completely in the ground clutter, and any forces being vectored in ahead of the aircraft would find themselves waiting for a long while, whilst the bombers crept by further south and then proceeded to their own tanker aircraft.
Blue Flight, however, were in trouble. They had to be closer to the enemy fire, and were now at the back of the strike package. The pilots barely even had time to register the massive explosions behind them, and the fireballs lighting up the sky where the Wanderjarian base had once stood. TERFLR systems were constantly blaring out warnings, and the RSOs were calling out yet more anti-air search radars above and behind them. Dialing it down to fifty feet above the treetops, the bombers attempted to hide even lower, now putting themselves a little more than a wingspan from the unforgiving earth.
<Near the destroyed Wagdog Patrol>
The Raptors had lain in wait. Sooner or later help would come for those destroyed in the first attack. Here it came, two more lightly armoured jeeps. With the aircraft already written off as unrecoverable, and with only a little fuel left, they moved off to intercept. Flying low and slow, they travelled on a course that would bring them across behind the jeeps, into an ideal firing position for the onboard machine guns.

<Near the destroyed Wagdog Patrol>
OOC: Sorry dude, I'm notorious for taking forever to respond. My apologies.
IC:
Across the base, numerous Gepard AA guns exploded, as did numerous other targets of the enemy attack. Dozens were killed and many more injured by the attack from nowhere. Several aircraft from Red Squadron were lost as well, however by this time many more fighters and interceptors were incoming to finish off the enemy forces. None would escape, however they would do some damage to their Prussian targets.
Back in Wanderjar, Lord Baker had already reached a decision that this conflict did not benefit the Empire. He was calling for the immediate withdrawl of all Prussian forces. They would be coming home to then be sent to fight against the Hatarians and their allies, a cause he believed to be much more noble.

pissed off that the officer didnt explain himself, Pierce grabbed him by the shoulder and and said
Pierce: If you have harmed my men i will kill you personaly.
His 6.2 stature would impose a pyhcological effect on him.
The Wanderjarian instantly grabbed the mans arm and in one swift motion, had the man on his back.
"You insurgent fuck!" He screamed, drawing his pistol. "No, we harmed not a one of your people, but by god if you touch me or any one of my men I shall see you personally executed." With that, he turned to the Wagdog officer, and said, "Now then, Unterofizer, please see to it that they are placed in the care of our allies." He motioned to the captured insurgents.
"Jawhol mein herr," He replied, and motioned for three men to help him move the prisoners onto the trucks.
"Marines," Bormann said, "Saddle up."

The prisoners safely on the trucks, the column rolled back towards the Wagdoggie part of the Wanderjarian base. Lt.Col. McGuffin got an antsy feeling, especially since the point section she'd sent to the crash site still hadn't reported in. They were alive, her PDA and OBSAT confirmed that much, but something felt... fishy about all this. And when I catch that fish, I'm gutting it with my own bayonet right there... She was not a woman to mince words in these sorts of situations, even silently. That is, once the other companies get these men safely into barracks. They rolled out with the Wanderjarians as her section and a two-vehicle short Alpha Company shadowed behind a ways before committing to the investigation. One way or another, Wagdog's responsibilities here would be discharged...
Official USSW Request to The First Reich of The PeoplesFreedom
Considering the attacks on our peacekeeping force that have most cowardly murdered thirty of our soldiers, our government must request permission to deploy Sixth Army (equivalent to one of your Corps most likely) and Sixth Air Force to North Calaveras under "Sixth Army Group" HQ to take up the former Wanderjarian occupation zone. From what we understand, this zone shall still have some Wanderjarian presence which we both know of and need not further be specified; but overall, our continuing responsibilities in this theater require this deployment in order to protect ourselves and our mission. We also request your assistance in self-defense, in case further attacks should materialize; as these would be obviously-detrimental to our mutual interests in this matter.
Sincerely,
Carolinus Horridus

Party Secretary, Wagdoggie Revolutionary Party

The base'll be mine when Wanderjar's mostly-gone, and I'm sending in tons of stuff unless TPF has a problem with that, so no worries.
Bottom-line, NC; If MacLeod03 wants to make this a regional war for whatever reason, he'll get one from me. One he'd have a tough time pulling the sort of attack above again in, considering my own not-inconsiderable air defense and surveillance capabilities; all integrated with SAM/AA targeting and firing of course, as well as fighter direction. In short, if I can see it at all I can shoot it down, or at least make a creditable attempt; so I am NOT bugging out on you here, period.

From the Outer Eugenian quarterly Political Studies Review:
The proceedings of the Calaveran Constitutional Convention are somewhat similar to the form of participatory budgeting used in Porto Alegre, Brazil (PSR, sept, 1990 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Participatory_budgeting) ) and our own collective planning system. It is a five phase process.
During the first phase factory committees and local (neighborhood-based in cities, village based in the countryside) assemblies will create documents detailing the various principles that they want incorporated into the constitution.
In the second phase, the collectives send delegates to bring these documents to the Constitutional Convention where they are incorporated into a tentative constitutional document.
In the third phase, this document is sent back to the collectives for approval and amendment.
It is then sent back to the Convention in the fourth phase for minor amendment. Depending on the electoral mandate of the third process, more serious amendments may implemented in the fourth phase.
In the fifth phase the final draft is presented to the whole of the electorate. Depending on the electoral mandate present in the earlier parts of the process multiple drafts may be presented.
The third, fourth and fifth phases are continued until a compromise is reached that is approved by 2/3 of the total electorate. This incorporates certain aspects of the consensus process into what is basically an electoral...
(OOC: We will assume that we are at the end of fourth phase #1. I will present an outline of principles (I'm not writing an entire constitution) for the player of NC to approve. This will in RP terms represent the results of the 5th phase. Please post all replies to this development here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=524584&page=3)

OOC: Well, I've secured the entire insurgent force without a shot being fired (no, seriously) :D, and was about to hand them over to Wanderjar for joint custody (in the sense that I would've used his bases for my barracks) before MacLeod03 decided to try and start a war (which reminds me; are you going to shoot my jeeps first Mac, or should I just visually detect and pwn your UAVs with machine gun fire already so we can call this little dustup?) over your presence here and Hataria did something stupid in Wanderjar's other war.
Since ICly I have no way of knowing who's responsible for these attacks on my PKF, much less if they're going to stop anytime soon, I've ICly requested you allow me to deploy a joint Corps/Numbered Air Force-sized sum of reinforcements so I can take over Wanderjar's responsibilities until the election goes on. For which, I might add, I have also ICly called for the "release" of President Kash Wilson now that the insurgency is no more (read: simple transfer to my custody, which I can assure you will be actual custody; in-barracks and under armed guard, specifically, until the Calaveran Communist Party's so-called 'jailhouse campaigning' is done and the election results returned). NC Insurgency Defeated!
Liberty City, TPF- There was parades in the streets today as Wagdoggie and Wanderjar forces announced the capture and destruction of the NC insurgency. The insurgency lasted a few months, most of which was peaceful demonstration and not one of violence.
President Booch announced today that the elections will occur in around two months time. He also stated that TPF forces have to train the new army and police force. Once this is complete, TPF forces will withdraw, save for the new military base that will be established there. When asked about what would happen to Kash Wilson, NC's previous leader, Booch had this to say:
" I cannot comment on this time what will happen to Kash, my generals and I are currently discussing this."
Many Military leaders expressed their happiness, noting that they could finally continue on to the war with Hatria, whom they consider to be more important and dangerous. Now, time will only tell how NC will treat it's new gift of democracy.

The night air was crisp and refreshing; a sure aid to a man otherwise on sentry duty as part of the Company HQ rear sections that were left behind as a precaution by the Lieutenant Colonel. Master Sergeant Michael Ostartho was preturbed by rumors though, about why exactly such precautions had been taken aside from the little coup scored with the safe internment of the rebels. And scuttlebutt says she was right to leave some of us here bored, too. Supposedly somebody bossing us around from the air and such sh**. Jeez-oh-man! A thought only worsened when he was nearly pounced upon by a drunken North Calaveran insurgent Colonel.
Recovering his balance as he tried to wrest the drunken man into a submissive position without drawing his holstered CZ-83 pistol, MSgt. Ostartho barked out orders according to his training for these sorts of situations. "ATTENTION SIR! I order you to put your hands on your head and allow me to return you to the barracks immediately! You are engaging in drunken and disorderly conduct, and behaving in a manner inconsistent with your obligations as a lawfully-surrendered Prisoner-of-War. If you do not comply, I shall have to use the maximum force necessary to ensure that you do! Attention SEC-TION!" He called in the other members of his 12-man section to bring as much presence to bear as possible, so this could be resolved without injuries or gunplay...

The operators continued to kep the noses centred on the Wagdogian Rangers as they flew, effectively circling strafing their target with hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

The peaceful CFC (Calaveras Freedom Congress) which represents the NC Civil Resistance movement is currently holding a constitutional convention with legitimate elections to follow shortly thereafter. The first jeep wasn't harmed as-such, despite it's tires being blown and the gunner shredded fatally. It skidded and rolled, but the crew were so far merely injured aside from the dead gunner. However, the section leader Sergeant Faye Michaels drew a bead on the two drones and fired off repeated five-round bursts from her ABI's DShKM .50cal machine gun. Oh no, you are NOT getting away with this! If you want to kill Rangers of the Red Army, you have to do it YOURSELF!! She kept firing as her jeep tactically swerved to ruin the drones' lines of fire, since there was really no choice in the matter if any of those under attack wanted to live.
In emphasis of that simple desire, a crewman crawled from the overturned Jeep with the section's RPG 29 that already had a fragmentation round loaded for anti-infantry duty that would never materialize now. It would have to settle for anti-drone work instead, speeding off once he drew his bead on the slowest of the drones and let fly...

With little fuel left, and only a few rounds of ammunition, the drone exploded, showering the surrounding area with debris.
Another drone took a hit to the fuel tank, fuel leaking down onto the hot gun barrels, where it promptly ignited. OOC: The people of NC were so impressed with the 1986 constitution of Constantinopolis that the constitutional convention is going to send it nearly unaltered to the electorate. In other words most of this is copied from C's wiki page with some (shitty) change of tense in a few places. He has a great democratic communist model so why mess with a good thing, right? And knowing him, he'll be glad that another country has adopted his system. This isn't so much a constitutional document as it is a list of principles that are assumed to exist in an IC document. So without further ado, here it is. onto the fifth and (hopefully) final phase of NC's constitutional process!
Politics
The government of NC shall consist of three branches: the Legislature, the Executive, and the Judiciary.
-The Legislature is a bicameral parliament. The upper chamber of this parliament is the People's Assembly, with 800 members elected every 4 years by universal suffrage. The lower chamber is known as the Agora, and it consists of the entire adult population. Upon reaching 18 years of age, every person is issued with a MVD (Mobile Voting Device), which is a device similar to a mobile phone, used exclusively for voting. The MVD network is kept extremely secure, and each MVD unit can be used only by the person it was built for (the MVD identifies its owner through a retina scan, and it can only be activated by its owner's voice command). Using their MVD's, the people of NC shall participate directly in the law-making process. Not every law passes through the Agora, however - since that would be impractical. The Constitution contains a list of issues which can only be legislated by the Agora (these are generally the issues of the highest importance, including any changes to the Constitution itself); in addition, the Agora can be consulted on any other matter, if at least 1/4 of the Assembly wishes it. To be more exact, the law-making process goes as follows: a proposal for a new law is submitted to the Assembly. The members of the Assembly discuss the issue, and vote on the law. If at least 25% of them are dissatisfied with the result of the vote, they can demand a vote in the Agora. In that case, the proposed law is presented to the people on their MVD's, and they are asked to vote on it (For or Against). The decision taken by the majority of the people becomes final and binding (the law is either passed or rejected).
-The Executive is known as the Council of People's Commissars. It consists of 15 Commissars and a Chairman, each of whom are elected individually for 4-year terms. The elections for the Council of People's Commissars take place in the same years as the elections for the People's Assembly, but they are entirely separate events. The Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars (usually referred to simply as the Chairman or "President") is both the head of government and the head of state.
Economy
Being a socialist economy, NC has established public property over the means of production (the "means of production" are natural resources and tools that can be used for the purpose of economic production - things such as factories, cultivated land, etc). There are two forms of such "public property": Collective property and state property. Besides public property, there is also personal property, which applies to all objects that are not means of production. All three forms of property are discussed below.
-As stated above, personal property applies to all objects that are not means of production. In other words, it applies to all items for personal use. For example, everything found in a typical person's home is usually personal property. Personal property rights in a socialist system are quite similar to private property rights in a capitalist system, with one important exception: Personal property may not be used for commercial purposes.
-Collective property is a form of property over means of production. It applies to almost a third of all cultivated land, in addition to all small enterprises (those with fewer than 40 workers). An enterprise under collective property is an enterprise owned by its workers. Roughly speaking, the workers are "shareholders" in such an enterprise, all with an equal number of "shares". They may organize themselves however they wish, and vote to elect the management. Cultivated land under collective property usually consists of small farmsteads, owned by one or several families. If a farmstead or enterprise under collective property wishes to hire new workers, those workers become additional co-owners of the enterprise or farmstead.
-Enterprises that have between 40 and 200 workers are owned in part by their workers and in part by the state. These are usually called "mixed property" (part collective property, part state property). The bigger the enterprise, the bigger the share owned by the state. The state owns a share of 20% in enterprises with 40-80 workers, 40% in enterprises with 80-120 workers, 60% in enterprises with 120-160 workers, and 80% in enterprises with 160-200 workers.
-Enterprises with over 200 workers, as well as around two thirds of all cultivated land, are under full state property. Thus, the state owns the vast majority of the means of production. It also owns all other land (including roads, urban land, forests, and wildlife sanctuaries), the country's infrastructure and public transportation system, and, of course, government buildings and other items necessary for the functioning of the state.
-A special case of state property is the media (TV channels, radio, and printed newspapers). These are funded and technically owned by the state, but they are run and managed by their own workers. State employees are strictly forbidden to interfere in the media, and the penalties for breaking this law are very high. As to the internet, the government of NC enthusiastically supports this new form of communication as the end of all restrictions on free speech. The state shall embark on an ambitious program to ensure that every household in NC owns a computer with an internet connection by the year 2010.
Economic planning
-The NC economy shall bemanaged through three main agencies: the Central Planning Commission, the State Bank, and the Commission for Resource Management. The economy Shall be directed by a series of four-year plans For every enterprise, the planning agencies define the quantity and ratio of economic inputs (e.g., labour and raw materials), a schedule for completion, all wholesale prices and nearly all retail prices.
-The process of drafting a four-year plan begins roughly six months before the plan is scheduled to be implemented. This means that the process begins in the month of February of the year immediately following an election year; it is therefore the first major task of any newly-elected government (and, a certain direction in economic planning will likely be a key feature of a political party's electoral platform).
-The Central Planning Commission sets basic guidelines for economic planning. It drafts at least four different plan proposals that specify the general direction of the economy and general economic policies. These proposals are then submitted to the Agora (the lower house of parliament, consisting of all adult citizens of North Calaveras). The Agora votes and chooses which proposal should be implemented (this vote is essentially a referendum on general economic policy). A "none of the above" option exists, in order to enable the people to reject all proposals if they believe the Central Planning Commission did not give them a real choice (by making the proposals too similar), or if they believe all of the proposals are too far removed from their needs and wishes. If the "none of the above" option wins, the Central Planning Commission must draft new proposals.
-After the approval of a proposal by the Agora, that proposal becomes the basis on which the new economic plan will be built. Combining the broad goals laid out by the approved proposal with data supplied by lower administrative levels regarding the current state of the economy, the Central Planning Commission works out a set of preliminary plan targets. The task of planners is to balance resources and requirements to ensure that the necessary inputs are provided for the planned output.
-Economic planning is done on a sectoral basis. In other words, the main plan contains sub-plans for each sector of the economy. The Central Planning Commission sends the preliminary plan targets and figures downwards through a planning hierarchy that has a pyramidal structure. Each agency in this hierarchy receives the data required for its own activity, takes it through a process of detailed elaboration, and then breaks up the resulting sub-plan into different chunks that are sent down to different branches of the agency. Those branches follow a similar process and send their even more detailed data to lower units, until it eventually reaches the level of individual enterprises.
-Enterprises are called upon to develop the most detailed plans covering all aspects of their operations so that they can assess the feasibility of targets, thus opening up the most intense bargaining phase in the planning process. As the individual enterprise drafts its detailed production plans, the flow of information is reversed: enterprise managers and even rank-and-file workers often participate in the planning process at this level. Also at the enterprise level, labour unions often get involved in the planning process, bargaining with managers in order to advance the interests of the workers.
-Once they are completed, the enterprises' draft plans are sent back up through the planning hierarchy for review. This process also entails bargaining, with all parties seeking the target levels and input figures that best suit their interests.
-After this bargaining process, the Central Planning Commission receives the revised estimates and compiles them into one nationwide economic plan. Then, the redrafted plan is sent to the People's Assembly (the upper house of parliament) for approval. If the plan fails to receive the approval of a simple majority, it is sent back to the Central Planning Commission together with a list of issues that the Assembly wishes to be fixed. If the revised and re-revised plan fails to gain the approval of the Assembly three times in a row, it is abandoned (and a new plan must be drafted from scratch, going through the entire drafting process described above). So far, this has never been necessary.
-The review, revision, and approval of the four-year plan are followed by another downward flow of information, this time with the amended and final plan containing the specific targets for each sector of the economy. At this point, implementation begins and is largely the responsibility of enterprise managers.

IC
Picking up a drunk and snoozing Colonel was emphatically not why Master Sergeant Ostartho had joined the Army. Much less slogged first through two years of compulsory Red Guard training and ready-reserve service, then formally volunteering for the Army proper and Ranger School thanks to his high Infantry skillset marks in the Guard. Thankfully the Party pays well for this sort of thing, at least; and gives us maybe half the political BS to sit through that most of our comrades out there have to endure every day...
Eventually, he went to the main hall where the Calaverans were quite comfortably interned, with their booze (probably to go soon, once Lt.Col McGuffin heard about this incident) and their TV and their adult magazines that the Rangers had willingly shared. "ATTENTION, prisoners!" He waited for them to snap-to before going on. "I had the unfortunate duty of bringing your honored Colonel in from a drunken and disorderly assault upon my person outside. Now, I can overlook this if you maintain better discipline; which I know you are capable of as soldiers yourselves even technically now, so do so. That is not a request, however much of our stuff the Colonel lets you share because she's such a sweet woman. That is an order, given by me in discharge of her legitimate military authority over you as things stand; so obey it. Carry on, comrades." He awaited their acknowledgement of his orders and visible obedience before leaving back to the post his section mates occupied at present, all so he could give the personal touch of bringing the Colonel in from what looked like an honest mishap and nothing worse...

And precisely WHEN are the Tango-Papa-Foxtrots going to let in those reinforcement the water cooler has it we've requested? Don't they know some stealthy-wackos boppin' about Occupied Territory and shootin' our stuff hurts THEIR control as much as ours? He sincerely hoped so, despite the proverbial Lando Calrissian "This deal is growing lousier by the minute," feeling regarding the TPF forces...
Meanwhile, although the three drones had already more or less butchered the RPG crewman at the flipped ABI, the one still running still had its commander blazing away at the aerial harassment party. Two down, THREE to go!
More five round bursts issued from her pintle-mounted DShKM... and then still more... and than even more still. Fire discipline, she had learned in training and always reminded herself, was the key to effective employment of an automatic weapon. Besides, 'spray and pray' is an iffy tactic for an agnostic anyways... After each burst, she re-aimed before loosing the next as the vehicle swerved ever more erratically.
And from the drones' starboard and behind, equally determined to avenge the fallen, came Lt.Col Rose McGuffin's column of her HQ section and Alpha Company. They spread out, and a mass of machine gun fire in five-round bursts echoed across the terrain as the Rangers went to avenge their own. So, UAV's? Amateurs. Just for that, I'll go ahead and BREAK your lovely little toys after all... She'd never been much of a girl for puppets or dolls anyway, frankly; her fun having been definitely 'boyish' even for a petite and muscular redhead as she'd been her whole life, mostly sports too which had certainly helped her when it came time to go into the Rangers. Firing off her own five-round bursts from the ABI's .50cal, she focused in like when practicing her archery back in high school before each disciplined press of the machine gun's butterfly trigger; each aimed to down a drone and then some, there being absolutely no such thing as overkill once battle was joined in her world...

Sir,
We have been monitoring the situation in your country for a while, and are concerned about the intentions of The PeoplesFreedom's troops in your country. They have made perfectly clear that they are an occupying force, and yet seem to myself and my advisors to be attempting to pervert the course of democracy.
If you so require, we are willing to act as neutral supervisors, to ensure that any military forces in TPF that are unwelcome will withdraw. We are also happy to send some of our finest civil engineers to assist your countrymen in rebuilding the infrastructure destroyed during your occupation. If this is acceptable to you, we can start our deployments tomorrow, and will dispatch heavy equipment by sea, so it should reach you within a fortnight.
As a final gesture of goodwill, we are willing to make a contribution in funding to your government as a non-repayable gift aid of £250,000,000,000, to be used to pay for the rebuilding of civil structures, and possibly a new house for yourself after the problems with your old one.
Please advise us of any changes you wish to make to this offer,
Regards,
HRH King James IX.

Greetings,
I have been monitoring the situation in North Calaveras closely over the past few days. With the promise of a near full evacuation of TPF forces in the country, there is obviously the potential for accidental hostilities between the local people and any remaining soldiers. As such, I propose a joint operation to act in an intermediary role, keeping the peace between the two sides, and ensuring that the withdrawal of the TPF troops goes smoothly.
I also intend, with the permission of the North Calaveras President, to deploy engineers from the Royal Army. First and foremost, they are there to repaird roads and bridges, but will also commence mine-sweeping and the removal of TPF strongholds across the countryside. Any efforts you wish to make to assist us in this mission would be fully welcome.
As a final request, it would appear that the most secure location within the country is in the former Wanderjarian base, which I believe you now occupy. As such, I seek to ask permission for McLeodian forces to deploy to the area using that facility, and also ask for a small section of the base to act a staging post for those aforemention engineers and their escorts.

The remaining drones guns clicked dry. The attack was over. Each one of them, still weaving from side to side, closed in on the remaining jeep and the gunner mounted on top. Bullets slammed into them, somehow missing the only two key parts left, the uplink module and the engine. They were now being used for one last purpose, a suicide charge to kamikaze themselves into the jeep, determined to cause as much destruction as possible.

Sir,
We have been monitoring the situation in your country for a while, and are concerned about the intentions of The PeoplesFreedom's troops in your country.

Subject: PeoplesFreedom Occupational Forces
Greetings,
I have been monitoring the situation in North Calaveras closely over the past few days.
Encoded USSW Reply to HRH James McLeod IX Re: TPF Occupation in North Calaveras
Having an ally here would be ideal; as-is, I feel my troops are practically naked thanks to the The First Reich stalling in approval or denial of my requested reinforcements against the parties staging the recent attacks on my forces. However, your information seems to be outdated Your Majesty. This is not a fault of yours; indeed, the situation is moving too fast for even me sometimes.
So far, The PeoplesFreedom has changed its tune remarkably, moving to pull back from the area except for one base and allowing free mulitparty elections; even releasing the North Calaveran President, Kash Wilson, after he supposedly survived an accidental gas explosion in which twenty Reich personnel guarding him were killed. Naturally, and this must remain in the strictest confidence, I have my suspicions about how 'accidental' that was given the extreme prejudice with which TPF forces prosecuted the war and what few counterinsurgency operations took place before my Rangers in-theater secured the rebels' surrender without a shot on our part. But we shouldn't look good fortune in the mouth unless it forces us to, right?
I approve your deployment, although asking TPF first would be advisable (sadly) since we are still technically their associates in this. However, I can assure Your Majesty's Government that, frankly, I don't trust the First Reich even half so far as I could ever throw it; and if we suspect they ever again move to violate their agreement with us we shall use what capabilities we have to protect the Calaveran people. Your assistance in this, naturally, would make our efforts much easier.

The ABI armored jeep swerved just enough for the drone aiming for the gunner's head to miss. Sgt. Faye Michaels then swung her DShKM around and blazed away at the unlucky drone, hitting it for sure although she'd never learn how much damage she did.
Why not? Because the other drone impacted into the ground in front of the ABI and exploded, forcing the armored jeep to roll over and crash amidst the blast and debris. Sgt. Michaels was thrown violently from the pintle mount, impacting onto the ground and snapping her neck in the process, even if the other occupants of the jeep all miraculously survived. For their lives, she'd died instantly in the line of duty thanks to an unknown party's attack...
Crying tears of steel as she drove over and touched the dead sergeant's dog tags, the rest of Alpha Company's reinforced column surrounding the site and dismounting to take up firing positions as a security measure while the Company medics examined the four survivors left. Lt.Col Rose McGuffin ordered. "Sergeant-Major! I hereby put in a recommendation for Sergeant Faye Michaels to receive the Order of the Red Banner, the Heroine of Socialist Labor Medal, and the Gold Star of a Heroine of the Revolution. All posthumous, sadly..."
"Yes ma'am!" The Battalion Sergeant-Major noted the citation in his PDA like several others among the now thirty-three dead Rangers Wagdog had suffered in this mission so far. At least her squadmates in the jeep look alive. Lt.Col McGUffin was grateful for small blessings, as the life of a line soldier swiftly taught those living it.
"Good. Let's gather our dead and wounded, and move out back to the base people!" The column did so, not really knowing what (if anything) would happen next...

Wagdog, while we would approve your deployment request, we can longer. This is because we have returned sovereignty to Kash in exchange for a captlist party and certain other agreements. All we own now is the new military base currently under construction. If you still wish to deploy forces, you may ask NC. Also, we would like to offer you the opprunity to station troops in our new base if Wagdog wants. We have attached a document giving our numbers that will remain in the base.
Three Infantry Divisions
One Armored Division
Several additional Artillery Brigades
Two hundred F-31 Hyperbolt Interceptors
Two hundred F-29 Eagle Fighters
One Hundred B-57 Hurricane Strategic bombers
Docking facilities to be able to station a Carrier Task Force and twenty additional submarine pens for strategic use
TPF does not confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons on any of its ships or military bases.
Furthermore the base will be heavily defended. It will have a two mile deep border zone, heavily mined with only certain routes into the base. The harbor will also be heavily mined. TPF troops will also be allowed to bring their families to live with them in housing, although they will not be allowed to buy houses in NC territory. NC locals can also find jobs at the base, doing various different jobs such as construction, dry cleaning, janitorial, etc.

OOC: In case any of my deployments look odd in their organization, my Army and Air Force essentially use a cribbed version of the British Regimental System mixed with certain Continental/Soviet (specifically) features. Hence, "Corps" is always used by my forces in the same sense as in the British "Royal Rifle Corps," and suchlike multi-battalion infantry regiments in the British Army.

USSW Response to TPF, official request of the North Calaveran Government
This is fair, and we ask North Calaveras accordingly. However, our broader diplomatic situation at present is delicate and we believe any commitments of ours here must be robust if they are not to draw attack from still other parties hostile to our interests. Hence, we shall deploy our original force anyway to show that our commitment is indeed equal to yours, at the same base(s) as yours in addition to our current (former Wanderjarian) ones as a gesture of goodwill.
Sixth Army (~70,000)
Multiple Branch Corps sharing the Army number in Roman numerals (VI Infantry, VI Armor, &c...) with as many subordinate Battalions/Squadrons as needed, for administrative organization or use in an Army-scale mass battle (not that we anticipate any such here in North Calaveras).
Multiple standing Combat Team (company-sized), Task Force (battalion-sized) or Battle Group (brigade-sized+) HQs for organizing combined-arms operations as necessary.
75,000 personnel at full mobilization strength.
600 МБТ-25С "Tukotav" MBTs
1350 БКЧ-1 APCs
250 БКЧ-T Tank Destroyers
350 БКЧ-СУ 122mm Assault Guns (used in an "SP Battalion/Squadron Gun" role for infantry battalions and cavalry squadrons)
350 2С7А "Gigant Groma" 152mm SPH, 350 BM-30 Smerch 300mm MLRS, 50 SS-23 Spider SRBM
350 ТС-М1 SPAA/SAM, 150 С-400 "Triumph" SAM
Logistical and miscellaneous support totalling some 3,500 vehicles of all types (~700 UAZ-469/ABI jeeps, 1400 Ural-4320 trucks, 1400 MAZ-543 heavy trucks)
And Sixth Air Force
75,000 personnel at full mobilization strength
250 MiG-39/1.44 Flatpack, 100 MiG-31M Foxhound, 150 Su-27SM Flanker superiority fighters
100 Yak-41M Freestyle attack fighters
50 Su-34 Fullback (deployment pending) tactical bombers
50 An-225 Cossack, 100 Il-76MF Candid, 100 An-72 Coaler transports
50 AH-1RO Dracula attack helicopters, 50 Mi-26 Halo cargo helicopters, 150 Ka-29 Helix utility/assault helicopters
Miscellaneous support both ground and air, usually delegated to Army proper in the former case.
We aren't sure what naval forces are available at present, but we will update both of your governments when this information is ready. Likewise, we will not confirm or deny the presence of nuclear weapons among our deployments; although we hardly imagine a need for them here aside from perhaps general precaution for any of us. And in the spirit of that precaution, we shall not inquire after the status of such deployments so long as the Reich does not of us.
Sincerely and Hopefully,

OCC: My government doesnt deny nor confirm nukes, but I will tell you OCCly that I will have tactical sized nukes on my ships, and strategic sized ones on my subs, but I do not intend to use them, I just have them in case.
OOC: Indeed; likewise, OOCly you may know that I'll have nuke warheads available for my army's SRBMs, some nuclear freefall bombs for my tactical aircraft, and also nuke-tipped cruise missiles for any attack subs I deploy (all my SSBNs are in a few secret and HEAVILY-patrolled bastions, so it really wouldn't make sense to divert any when SSNs are enough for something here). I'm waiting for The World Soviet Party to confirm an order for the class I'll be deploying (Vladimir SSNs) when I do, since any naval assets I send will have to come from the two "Grand Fleets" of Czechalrussian-designed ships I'm organizing for possible assistance to TWSP in his fight. OOCly, I'll tell you that I'm eyeing a sensible group of one Tri Svyatitelya CVBN, one Pyotr Velikiy BBBN, two Vol'nitsa AHNs, two The People's Class AOEN, ten Danechka-Mod DDN, and ten Vladimir SSNs for this deployment. The supercarrier would also have twenty Yuri SOF/Missile boats and ten Aleksandrova LCACs carrying a small Marine Division (~8000 total, plus mechanized and support assets TBA but similar to a baby Field Army of mine) in addition to the 700-odd aicraft carrier wing and ship's crew to service those.
Nothing too overkill I don't think, aside from perhaps qualitatively-speaking, but I'm moving to convert my forces over from RL Russian/Romanian to NS Czechalrussian/Vetakan stuff as soon as replacements for the older hardware emerge. Hence, no sense in letting it all gather dust...

Bastion Military Base
All around the country, men were loading up on transports and heading up, but not here at the now under-construction Bastion Combined Military Base. Here, thousands of Marine, Army, and Navy engineers were readily at work building the base. They hired thousands of NC citizens to aid them. The docks would take the longest, the ships were being serviced by a Mobile Dock right now, which was the size of a Super-Dreadnought.

They were only the first in several waves of transports that would bring help to North Calaveras, and remind the natives that not every nation out there wanted to kill them. By removing any trace of the TPF occupation, they would help the country to heal and move on to their own free future.

On Approach to TPF Base
According to permission for Wagdog to deploy a full Army ("Corps" in The PeoplesFreedom's and most other nation's terms) and Air Force to North Calaveras, under an "Army Group" HQ as a joint defensive outfit to discharge their mutual responsibilities in-theater, the first of the fifty gargantuan An-225 Cossacks under Sixth Air Force were inbound carrying the first third of Wagdoggie Sixth Army's tanks and heavy equipment. Following behind were the Il-76MF Candids with the personnel and light equipment, the An-72 Coalers not deploying until refuelling assets could be freed up once the first presence was established.
As was, those fifty Il-78M Midas tankers were focused on keeping five times their number of MiG-39 Flatpack air-dominance fighters safely airborne until all could land and refuel more-conventionally. That done, Wagdog's second logistical operation of this size since deploying the famous Seventh Army Group (aka the "Seven Against Strator") to fight in Zanski would be well underway...

Kash was wondering, yes im sure you lost 20 men,
Kash: Small business are allowed in the constitution, and that will be fine.OOC: but private enterprise is not- any employee is in effect a part owner of the enterprise.

Joint TPF/USSW Base, North Calaveras...
The last of the mammoth An-225 Cossacks lifted off, the Sixth Army's deployment to North Calaveras complete. Wagdog now had a ground presence basically-equal to The First Reich's in all but infantry power. Naval deployments would take longer, focused on the supercarrier UWS Isildur and the heavy battleship UWS Comandante Guevara along with their escorting destroyers and submarines, but would arrive within the week. Now there was really only one thing for 2nd Battalion VII Airborne Corps to do before it headed home for R&R prior to an unspecified "training deployment"...
North Calaveran Base, Formerly USSW-Occupied...
With the resumption of North Calaveran sovereignty, this base had reverted to control of the Colonel who had once formally been Lieutenant-Colonel Rose McGuffin's prisoner. Ah well, such is peacekeeping. What matters is that we did the job, and did it right girl... She approached the Colonel's office (once hers) and knocked politely, remaining at attention as she brushed a flame-red bang out of her eyes...

Office of Colonel Pierce, President Kash Wilson...
"Thank you Mr. President, Colonel." She made sure to show equal deference to both men, feeling especially that the latter had earned it after doing relatively well as a prisoner of hers. "My men are heading off for training, but I do think I can return someday. You're both true Comrades and I was honored to help defend you from the fascists, even if that required gritting my teeth and going along with them for a time. My own comrades in Sixth Army should keep the Tango Papa Foxtrots in line now, holding them to their honor and helping you rebuild as allowed. My thanks for your dismissal, sirs." Snapping her best salute, she then politely walked off double-time to catch her Il-76; first back to Wagdog to meet up with some reservists recalled to duty with her battalion for this training mission, enough to more than double its strength for some reason, and thence to Vetaka for whatever odd reason had struck the War Office this time...
Shared TPF/USSW Port Area...
After some time in transit, the Isildur/Guevara mixed battlegroup arrived in North Calaveran waters as the naval component of the Peacekeeping force. Wagdog's deployment to North Calaveras was complete, and just in time; since tensions were mounting over the situation arisen from the Hatarian Empire's confusing fall, and Wagdog was involved insofar as it could be for the sake of its former associates in the Imperial Republic of Hataria.
