GROB, THRESH - Moments ago, opposers to the Council's recent legislation, and proposed legislation, overpowered the police forces on guard outside the Council Hall and seized the building, then captured the five remaining council members.

Soon after they had succesfully taken the building, their leader, prominent anti-establishment civil rights speaker Spencer Ithead, made an announcement.

"Thousands of our Threshian brothers and sisters have been removed under a pretense of concern. Throughout our nation, suffering continues as more and more of these citizens are extricated from our communities. This injustice can not stand! Free people of the world must unite, and declare in one voice: WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY! Until our demands are met, more of this immoral and prejudicial government will suffer!"

The demands are, we have just learned, that Premier Reddox and his Cabinet step down, and a new, sympathetic government put into place.

Police and Military forces are gathering for a counterattack.

As hundreds of policemen and soldiers gathered outside the Council Hall, dozens of the freedom fighters took positions in windows throughout the top floor, aiming their assault rifles down at the enemy forces.

The leader of the forces, Owen Drescht looked over at his commander, Ithead, who nodded. Drescht opened fire on the police and military, and the other 71 armed freedom fighters followed suit. Their bullets rained down upon their countrymen, and as the uniforms fell, a wry thought entered Drescht's mind. These men were no different than they, just on the other side of the wall.

The establishment rallied together and returned fire, bullets embedding themselves in the brick near him. Above him, from the rooftop, a dozen revolutionaries began hurling Molotov cocktails down upon the police and soldiers. Primitive, but effective.

The onslaught continued until their opponents pulled back to regroup, and Drescht turned to Ithead.

"When is it enough?" he asked.

"When I say so," came the cold response.

Several soldiers broke through the door and began moving towards the staircase in an effort to reach the revolutionaries raining fire upon their allies. As the soldiers reached the first landing, the doors at the top of the staircase burst open, and bullets began pouring out. Two freedom fighters were at the top, firing round after round at the soldiers. One through a grenade down at the soldiers, which burst, scattering smoke and confusing the invading troops. The freedom fighters easily picked off their enemies and sealed the front door once more.

A flower of blood was blossoming on the side of the revolutionary, and he looked down. "Shit," he frowned, and hurried across the hall to the makeshift medical station, where capable hands cleaned and bandaged his wound. Doctors and nurses were not pleased with the HIV/AIDS legislation.

Finally, Ithead reached for the megaphone and spoke from the rooftops, the soldiers having backed up sufficiently for him to feel safe.

"Soldiers and officers! Abandon your efforts! We have this position fortified and will accept nothing less than the complete and total surrender of power to our hands. If you fail to comply and persist in this futility, we will be forced to execute the councilmen. We give you four hours to bring us the Premier."

Ithead returned to the top floor, where he was safer.

The Premier, apparently, was unconcerned with the welfare of his supporters.

The revolutionaries dragged the councilmen to the rooftop, where they positioned them on the edge of the building, facing the crowd of military force. With a handgun, Ithead traveled along the men, executing each one with a single bullet to the base of the head.

Drescht winced with each shot, sorry for this loss of life.

As the final councilman fell, Ithead spoke to the military once more.

"You have defied the will of the people, and you will be punished."

He waved his hand, and the twelve freedom fighters on the rooftop opened fire on the crowd, hitting both innocents and soldiers. Drescht turned to Ithead, incensed.

"You're hitting the civilians! This isn't right!"

Ithead turned, his cold cruel grin present once more. It was like he had two sides, the coward and the criminal.

"Blood alone moves the wheels of history."

The military pulled back, and a helicopter descended down into their midst. Drescht ordered the revolutionaries to hold their fire.

Out of the helicopter stepped the Premier, his hands held high.

"I am here. What is it you want?"

Ithead pulled out his pistol and fired two shots, bring the Premier to his knees.

"I swore that the people would see you brought to your knees. And so it is done. Give us control of the government, and we will end the loss of life."

The Premier frowned, and realized he had no choice. He nodded, and called off the military. He crawled to the rooftop and addressed the crowd below, among which was, of course, a news crew televising the entire event to the nation.

"I turn control of the nation to these revolutionaries. I am... sorry."

Ithead smiled his wicked grin and executed the Premier, his body falling to the ground. He took the fallen leader's place and addressed the crowd.

"This is how the new legacy of Thresh begins. From now on, we will rule with an iron fist."

These words struck Drescht deep. This was not what Ithead had told him, and by the look on his friends faces, not what they had been told either. He raised his rifle, and fired a single shot. Ithead fell to the ground, the shot having struck him square in the back. Ithead continued his fall, following the Premier's path. Drescht took the place of the former leaders, and addressed the crowd.

"In some cases, blood must be spilled. But it will be the goal of this government to limit the amount of blood that is spilled. The system is not wrong, only the people involved in it. The first act of this new government will be to repeal the HIV/AIDS legislation, and to assure both you, and the world, that this government will not oppress her citizens, this government will operate the way the old government should have, this government will respect the voice of her citizens. We are sorry for the loss of life that has occured today, and hope that our nation will never again have to be put through this kind of situation again."
