--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extraterritoriality
The United Socialist States of New Brittonia respects the extraterritoriality of all foreign embassies to our nation; and as such the embassy compound, including the actual embassy building, the embassy grounds, and the diplomatic residences are considered foreign territory and all New Brittonian citizens inside the embassy are subject to the recipient nation (the recipient nation being the foreign nation)’s laws.
Diplomatic Immunity
The United Socialist States of New Brittonia respects the time-honoured tradition of diplomatic immunity and as such, places the ambassador and deputy ambassador under diplomatic immunity along with their immediate family and five (5) foreign nationals to be selected each by the ambassador and deputy ambassador, leaving a total of ten (10) foreign nationals under full diplomatic immunity from being arrested or subpoenaed. All other foreign nationals working at the respective embassy have diplomatic immunity from all petty offences. This diplomatic immunity can be waived or suspended only by an edict by the Prime Minister or a two thirds (2/3) majority vote by all three houses (the House of Commons, the House of Representatives, and the Diet) of the New Brittonian National Parliament.
Persona non grata
Through an edict, the Prime Minister of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia has the right to expel said nation’s ambassador and diplomatic personnel at any time, for any reason. This right is also given to the Parliament of New Brittonia under a two thirds (2/3) majority vote by all three houses of the Parliament (the House of Commons, the House of Representatives, and the Diet). In all times excepting a time of war, the New Brittonian Military shall escort the diplomatic corps to their home country. In the regrettable occasion of war, a neutral nation that has been accepted by both parties will escort said nation’s diplomatic corps back to their home country. In both situations, diplomatic immunity will still be enforced until the diplomatic corps has left New Brittonian territorial waters or airspace (exception is granted if an edict or a two thirds vote in Parliament waives said immunity).
Embassy Security
The government of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia allows twenty-four (24) armed military personnel to guard said nation’s embassy and embassy grounds. All weapons used by said military forces must be registered with the New Brittonian federal government and the Epsom city government but all other state, county, and/or city governments that the diplomat and his/her security forces may travel into. As diplomatic security forces, the weapons do not have to conform to local firearm regulations, however the registration is necessary in case of the need to trace the bullet and/or firearm.
Diplomatic Security outside of the Embassy Compound
When a diplomat is traveling within New Brittonia and said travel is outside of the embassy compound, the diplomat is entitled to a maximum of twelve (12) security forces of their own country to guard them. Additional security will be given by the Diplomatic Security Forces of New Brittonia and local police.

The diplomatic bag contains diplomatic immunity, and as such, will never be searched by New Brittonian police or military personnel or be subject to any non-invasive search methods, if, and only if the bag only has official diplomatic correspondence between the embassy and the host country. The diplomatic bag must weigh under one (10) metric tonnes. If any suspicion arises, the bag can be detained by police until a resolution can be made.
