Vetakan General Election 2007

After continued Civil Unrest following the last Election 2 Weeks Ago and the Political Storm regarding the Vote of Confidence of Vetakan President Roxanne Wright. Vetaka will go to the polls to relect a new Government in an attempt to try calm the Crisis.

Current President Roxanne Wright will not be standing and will be retireing from Politics immediatly after the Election. The Vetakan Defence Force has confirmed that it has under the Emergancy Powers Act declared Martial Law for the duration of the Election. The VDF also confirmed the deployment of the Vetakan Police Force and the 1st, 4th and 6th Armies throughout the Nation.

Below is an outline of the Candidates:

Vetakan Freedom Party (Seeking Re-Election):

Leader: Foreign Secretary Scarlet Rogers

The Current ruling party of Vetaka elected immediatly after the Vetakan Civil War. The Freedom Party was instrumental during the Civil War and was founded by the Vetakan Hero Daniel Pearce. It intends to continue its current course of Economic Growth, Democratic Introduction and Supporting the newly formed The United Federation of Allied Nations.

Has pledged never to allow this situation develop again.

The Vetakan National Party:

Leader: Micheal Andrew Parker

A very Patriotic and Nationalist Party formed during the Civil War and was part of the Freedom Party. However in the aftermath of the Civil War they broke away from the Freedom Party and wanted Vetaka to remain in Isolation and build up its Militray Force for Mutral Defence. It would restrict Freedom and Democracy to defend the Greater Vetakan Good. Would withdraw from UFAN and seek Corporate Alliance Membership and begin a Imperial Foreign Policy Agenda.

The Vetakan Confederation of Communist & Socialist Parties (Withdrew):

Withdrawn from Election. All Votes for the Communist Party are now for the Freedom Party see Post 6

Message to Vetaka

It is sad to see PResident Wright stand down from office and bow to presure from nothing more than what is simply a glorified terrorist that is Mr Parker. a Man who would spark a civil war because he is a sore loser in an election. a man who attepted to overthrow the democratically elected government of our friends in Vetaka. We can not; and we will not negotiate with terrorists.

We are saddened to see Miss Wright stand down however If Mr Parkers Nationalist Party wins the election we will have no choice but to severe all diplmoatic ties, Trade, and Treatys and with Vetaka, Animarnia will not reconoise the terrorist government of Mr Parker, we will not deal with the terrorist government of Mr Parker.

A Party Political Broadcast from The Vetakan Confederation of Communist & Socialist Parties:

The Confederation after a recent meeting has decided to withdraw from this Election. The Confederation has decided that in order to remove the threat of a Nationalist Vetakan Nation. We will withdraw from the running and back the Freedom Party led by Ms Scarlet Rogers. As such all Votes for the Confederation are to be counted for the Freedom Party.

Should the Nationalistic Mr Parker be elected to Government. The Confederation of Communist & Socialist States offers a Coalition to the Freedom Party in the Senate backing in order to ensure the surivial of Vetakan Democracy and Freedom as we know it.

I call upon all whom have not voted as of yet to vote for Freedom Party not for Political Agenda but for Democratic Freedom that we all take for granted. Vote to stop a Terrorist from seizing control of The Dominion of Vetaka

Those glorius “defenders of democracy”

Recently widespread riots started in Vetaka. Those riots effectively demonstrated that current ruling party, Vetakan Freedom Party, is unable to ensure stability. Confrontation reached to decisive showdown with Presidential vote of confidence against current President Roxanne Wright. First round ended up with tie, then both sides had 150 votes. For second round leaders of The Vetakan National Party, which is main opposition party, were going to be transported to Senate by army helicopter, official reason was "ensuring their safety". In reality army, probably under commands of President or Freedom party leadership, kidnapped opposition leaders ensuring Wright’s victory at Vote of Confidence. President Wright argessively pressed to start the vote then opposition leadership was missing, and easily won it. Probably story would had ended here, with Vetaka silently converted to dictatorship. But conspiracy leaked out. President Wright was forced to announce new elections and her personal retireing from politics.

Those new elections have already demonstrated hypocrisy of international politics as many countries have already announced support, and in United Kingdom2 case even sent large amounts of money, to Vetakan Freedom Party, which recently attempted to turn Vetaka into dictatorship. It is really shameful that countries, who pretend to be supporters of democracy, are ready to sell their principles, and start supporting party which leadership should be tried for their crimes against democracy. On the other hand there are some things that suprize nobody, like the fact that Vetakan stalinists, officially known as The Vetakan Confederation of Communist & Socialist Parties, withdrew from election and announced full support to usurpers of democracy at Freedom Party. We can only hope that Vetakan’s have enough common sense to understand that voting for tyrants at Freedom Party, and their stalinist lapdogs, is direct betrayal of democracy.

The "Communist" withdrawal from the Vetakan elections is a shining example of the total futility of electoral politics. There can be no "Workers' Party." All parties in a bourgeois republic inevitably cater to the capitalist class. But in the world of fools and sellouts there are some that really take the cake. Tonight we salute the Vetakan Confederation of Communist and Socialist Parties.

The Vetakan CCSP is exceptional in that it is actually afraid of winning an election. They withdrew from the running on the flimsy premise that they would split the vote and cause a Nationalist victory all while the ultra-reactionary Nationalists had been polling at well below the CCSP's own 25% with the bourgeois liberal FP picking up a fat majority.

These were the poll results well after the CCSP's withdrawal! When a party that can hold 25% of the vote in an election in which it is not even running withdraws in favor of a 'more viable' one, you know that there is something rotten in the state of Vetaka.

Official Nationalist Party Announcement

The Nationalist/Conservative Alliance Government of the Empire of Alexandrian Ptolemais wishes the National Party the best of luck in the upcoming Vetakan election. We wish to aid the National Party through a secret flyer campaign (OOC: type Exclusive Brethren in Wikipedia, and you will probably bump into what I am thinking about).

We also hope that this will not hinder the Vetakan delegation that is in the Empire presently for the Free-Trade Conference

After an intense few weeks which has seen the loss of a President, the downfall of a government and in excess of $1 Billion in damage to property across the nation. The state of Vetaka has reached a period of political calm with a coalition government now taking power one hopes the threat of nationalism can now be cast into history books forever. Although a great Vetakan President has been forced out. This reporter hopes Scarlet Rogers can lead the Vetakan People to greatness just as President Pearce and President Wright have done.

With the Freedom Party alone securing a vast majority and with further support from its Coalition of the Confederation of Socialists and the League of the Black Phoenix. The Coalition of Free Vetaka has secured this nations future for generations. The People of Vetaka have spoken we will not accept the Evil and Tyranny of Micheal Andrew Parker.
