An ancient base that was controlled by the Dark Eternals (name explains itself) and they used the base to create superior soldiers out of the gene polls on Earth. Basically, the Dark Eternals have taken a number of specimens from the most evolved species on the planet in order to create soldiers those possessed a level of intellect that would allow them to handle simple weapons and be obedient to their Dark Eternal masters. What they would generally do the captured specimens was that they would alter their genetics and/or rapidly evolve them in closed spaces.
These experimentally specimens were later put into contained in storage tanks and use their genes to create clones that be put thru further genetic theory and evolution until they reached the perfect states and when they did the Dark Eternals stored the perfect specimens in storage containers and took a large amount of their genetic material in order to create clone armies of them. With their experiments done at the base they left it and wiped out all files on the technologies used and where they had taken the genetic material, but they left all their creations in their storage tanks. Yet, they did release a number of their specimens back onto Earth where they became the sources of many of the monsters legends including the Yeti, Vampires, Centaur, Cremira, and a many different legends across the world.
Generally, the monsters will still vary hugely in appearance due to the sheer number of different experiments the Dark Eternals performed on them. Also, the Dark Eternals did leave the base operational and nearly all of their creations are either still in their storage tanks or have been released into the base. Yet, before the Dark Eternals did leave the information about how to operate the base and on the evolution of the monster in the form of information on their external and internal changes after each experiment, sadly they did not leave any of their more powerful weapons behind and any information of the regarding the weakness of the creatures.
Now a secret power has organized dozens of the finest soldiers within humanity to investigate a find that they have made deep in the below the ice mountains in Antarctica after using radar to probe the bottom and identified a large metal structure below the surface. So after digging a deep tunnel they have expeditions below which all have been lost so far. To recover the lost teams and to clear the base they have now sent their own battalion below to clear the base in order to seize what technologies they could.
So now humans have dared to make an attempt to open the dark secrets of the base and gain access to all of its horrible technolgoies and weapons...

Joe was cleaning one of his rifles when the call came through. He picked up the phone and the usual scrambled voice came through. He listened for a few moments, and then hung up. He sighed, it had been a slow few months in the business, it seemed that there weren't any freedom fighters, Western governments, or private contracters that needed anyone killed lately... the world was annoyingly quiet. Luckily for him however, he had just gotten an offer from somebody for an "expedition," whatever that meant. All he knew was that they told him to come prepared for the cold, bring weapons, and that there would be a rather sizable payment for success. With how all the airlines were being paranoid these days it would be sort of tricky to get any weapons through, but he had a few favors he could call in to get to the meeting place without raising any alarm. He went to his cabinet, pulled out a pair of duffle bags, and began loading one with the necessary cold weather gear. Once he had all of the cold gear, he packed in a Dragon-Skin bulletvest, a set of thermal goggles, and a number of rations. He picked up the other bag and went down into the basement, where he kept most of his guns and ammo. Looking at his collection, he decided to take one of the higher calibre rifles this time around. He figured that if they're out in the cold, he might as well make sure to good solid bullet to break through any ice if necessary. He took the G3A4 off of its rack, gave it a good heft, and set it in the bag. He had just cleaned that one, so he would be able to save himself the trouble. He also knew the 7.62 cartridge would have no problem killing any person he'd have to kill in the process. Going through the rest of his guns, he took the SIG 226 .40 down, again for the reliability and the stopping power. Then he grabbed his knife, although he hardly knew how to do anything except cut throats with it, since he was never particularly interested in the things... Lastly, he grabbed a few blocks of c4 and some detonaters. He seriously never knew when the stuff would come in handy, so he figured it wouldn't ever hurt to carry some everywhere he went. Besides, it was his specialty, blowing stuff up and all.
About an hour later, he was on a private prop plane heading off to the private airport where the caller said to meet him. He would arrive in about 20 minutes.
The WH15P hummed quietly as it whistled through the air. Nataliya held on to her seatbelt tightly. She had heard far too many stories of a WH15P malfunctioning and suddenly stopping, sending its passengers through the thin shell. She checked her GPS transceiver again, making sure the pilot was going in the right direction. As the green dot slowly got closer to the red blip, Nataliya began to pack her equipment into a highly durable backpack. Considering she had to 'borrow' it from MAVERICK, she didn't take much. Some scientific equipment from the MedLab, which to her looked more like a glorified child's First Chemistry Set, a few weapons. As she checked the Shock Baton she found in Security, an image flashed into her mind of when she had last had to use it. During the Karkofsky Virus. Before she could even push the image from her mind she began to hear a beep.
"We're about to reach our target, Miss Pokrovsky." The Pilot called back. Nataliya nodded in reply, and quickly packed the rest of her things. She pulled on a synthetic fur coat and hat over her diving suit, and prepared for departure.
Let's just hope this was worth it, she thought.

Lee sat back in the helicopter as it ferried him towards where he would meet his contact for the job. He once again checked his stuff: snow camo gear and warm clothing, his kevlar bulletproof vest that he was wearing, rations, radio earpiece and underneath them, his weapons. He had chosen to take a combat knife as it had served him well in the past, some grenades for blowing stuff up, a shotgun for close quater firefights, a silenced pistol and his pilot sidearm that he had kept from when in the RAF. The pilot called out to him that they were nearly there and he looked out the window. There were three people there. One he guessed was his contact and the two others must also be in on this job. He frowned - he like working alone, save for his radio earpiece linked to headquarters and mp3 on the journeys.

Natalie Landry was not particularly enjoying her flight in-to keep it private, the Amazonian government was calling her involvement in the operation an "insertion". Due to that, she had been provided with an STOL light jet-not built exactly for comfort. It had the capacity to land on a carrier and close in on Mach 1-and Natalie was no military girl. She was used to the more leisurely executive jets often sponsored by various aid organizations, or at least civilian transport helos-not this. The jet was blasting through turbulence to minimize transport time, and Landry was having a difficult enough time simply keeping the meal she had eaten before the flight down.
Natalie wasn't used to being well-armed, but this time the operatives who had equipped her for the mission had pimped her out with some seriously expensive equipment. She carried a semi-automatic rifle with a detachable 10x and 20x sniper scope, each shot with enough power to easily down a large human simply through shock. Besides bullets, the rifle came standard with several other ammunitions-explosive bullets, tranqs, and poison-loaded projectiles. A silencer pistol, and for close quarters, an extended combat knife designed to withstand the harshest conditions rounded out the arsenal. Natalie shied from the weapons-she was more an advocate of peace-but wouldn't hesitate if a situation jumped.
Besides that, she carried a fairly detailed medical kit. Natalie more or less understood that she'd likely be the most experienced of the crew handling medicine and first aid-she'd worked in horrid conditions before regarding medical appropriations with various aid organizations. The medical kit was equipped with a plethora of the latest equipment-however, it was actually fairly light. Besides the rifle, Natalie's equipment-the medkit, a good deal of rations, cold clothing, a GPS unit, and a personal communicator.
The jet veered into the zone of contact with the others of the group as Natalie stared out the cockpit of the craft, her blue eyes shining against the Antarctic ice. It was a dreary site-water, whether in the frozen or liquid form, dominated the scenery. Not particularly exciting, though Natalie was fairly protected from the cold by what she already was wearing.
"We're in, settling for landing," the pilot said.
The STOL jet contacted with the ground, wheels gliding along the ice, finding friction as the vehicle quickly slowed to a quick stop. The cockpit lifted and Natalie stepped out, more for the pilot-he wanted to rendevous quickly back to base to avoid any incidents. She pulled her rifle and pack out of the jet as the cockpit began closing once more.
"Best of luck," the pilot said as the cockpit closed around him.
The jet fired thrusters again, picking off from the ice and veering back into the sky-its red engines burning hot against the cloudy grey sky.

Graevus's Move
btw, Graevus is not a Dark Eternal Experiment, but Biogen created him. Biogen is a Corporation operating secretly within The Cult of Marx. he simply wishes to take control of the base for his own operations. therefore he fights all mutants who don't side with him, as well as anything weaker than himself (he considers humans to be weaker than himself. he would consider negotiations from the Dark Eternals and their servents, because he sees the Eternals as powerful beings, almost gods. all of the following happens in the months leading up to the humans first moves.
Graevus stands outside the abandoned base. Megalithic in proportions to the mountainside it was built into, it is a scar in the face of the Heimdalloug Mountains. just the sort of place that Graevus wished to inhabit. a smile that would kill a child spread across his face as he and millions of his perverted minions entered the base, brushing aside security systems and spreading muck and filth throughout the place.
He makes a purulent lair within some dark recess of the base, setting up biological surveillance systems. these systems are pseudo-psychically connected to him, and he can view in this way most of the things that his systems as well as his minions see and hear. his minions spread out through the place, digging systems of tunnels beneath even the sub basements and through walls and ventilation systems. for the most part, they leave the mutants left behind alone, but on occasion, they set them free, hoping that they can aid each other in keeping the base in Graevus and the Dark Eternals hands.
stats for the bio-cameras are presented below:
Tyrant Cams
Size: about the size of an ostrich egg
Description: these are fragile bio-sensor systems employed by Graevus to keep a close watch on goings on in the Dark Eternals base. they look like an egg plastered to a corner of a wall or in the middle of a ceiling, fastened down by some sort of slimy tendrils, which it can use to travel inches per minute when ordered. the "egg" part is the bio-sensor itself, it is fragile and can be easily hit in melee or shattered entirely by a bullet. however, the body must be completely burned or the camera grows back by the next day.

Joe woke up suddenly and looked around. At some point in the flight he had fallen asleep, and he looked at his watch. It was almost 2 hours since he took off, and he had been told there was only 20 minutes more almost an hour and a half ago...
Where in the hell AM I?
He looked out the window to a frozen tundra. He suddenly realized why the client wanted him to pack the snow gear. He walked up to the pilot's cabin and knocked on the door.
"How long 'till we land, pilot?"
"About 15 minutes. Go ahead and get your stuff in order, we're taking off again as soon as you're outta here."
"You got it..."
Joe walked back into the cabin and began gathering up his gear. He brought the two bags down, and buckled them into the next row of seats for the landing, and then he buckled himself back in. Suddenly, the plane touched down, and soon came to a halt. The pilot opend the door and pointed out the door. Joe grabbed his gear and went outside. The first thing he noticed was the biting chill that immediately gripped him. He was glad it was daylight, otherwise he would probably be almost frozen already. As the plane took off behind him, the next thing he noticed was that there was already several people gathered around. Nobody told me about a group... He hauled his bags over to the group and set it down.
"So how's everyone doin' this chilly afternoon?"

To everyone was given a simple letter that appeared when they came within sight of the base which read," You have been brought here for no mere guard duty, but the reason for you being here is to investigate the series of attacks here and protect the researchers that are here from any further ones.
Though sadly we have not been able to indentify what is behind the attacks.
As well, for when you land report to the gathering grounds where more infromation shall be provided as to what is going to here and to the objectives of your mission."

Joe glanced curiously at the messenger after receiving the letter. Gaurd duty? Mysterious attacks? Investigations?? This is starting to sound like something out of a bad science fiction movie... He looked up at everyone else and assumed they had been given the same note, due to the looks on their faces. Crumbling it up, he threw it over his shoulder, grabbed his baggage and started marching over to what looked like the "gathering grounds."

Base:
Inside the base the mutants had already destroyed nearly all the surviving members of the first groups to be sent down as the humans were weak when compared to the countless generations of refinemnet of the genetic codes of the mutants.
As well, the Cult of Marz had aroused the hatred of the mutants and now the literally countless mutants now began to drive at them in the hopes of riding the base of their presence in its entireity.
Surface Base:
The surface was filled with mostly soldiers that were gearing up to be sent down into the hell below and with the recent announcement for them to come together at the really grounds it was sure to be soon...
((OOC: Damit Amazonian, you stole all my equipment ;) ))
IC:
There was a pneumatic hiss as the side door of the WH15P slowly slid open. Nataliya stepped out, reading the letter she had just received on her PDA.
Who would want a base out here? she wondered. She looked around at the other people who had arrived. Mercenaries and foolish scientists, eager for glory. She could guess which ones were the corporations and which ones were hired.
"Who are all these kids?" She muttered in her native tongue. She placed the backpack down and began to draw out her equipment. She clipped a CS Gas Dispenser to her belt, aswell as a Shock Prod. She took out the Military TASER she had used in her army days as shock pads and also a Makarov PM 9mm pistol, and shoved them in the appropriate holsters the side of her legs. She pulled out a Combat Knife, made sure it hadn't iced over, and promptly slid it into her belt. Taking out her communications device, which resembled a Blutooth mobile phone, she attached it to the side of her head. She kept the PDA in hand, and checked she still had the USB sticks she had brought along. Even a snippet of this 'new technology' would be worth a fortune on the black market.

(Shouldn't be a problem if I RP Risako as having arrived already, right?)
Risako had already arrived on the scene, her padded arctic garb constrasting starkly with the jet black FN FAL she had scrounged up from the stores. A brown shoulder bag rested on her right hand side, and her face was completely covered by the combination of goggles and scarf.
She headed down to the gathering grounds, and did a quick check to make sure she had everything she needed. Risako was, however, rather surprised at the distinct lack of warm clothing present among the hired people, and shook her head as she watched them shiver. She herself was wearing a lab coat underneath the thick clothing, but that was merely for purposes of stereotype reinforcement.
Within the Base
Shan'toa surveyed the bodies in front of him with an emotion akin to satisfaction, as close as his kind could muster anyway. Two of his Sentinels had fallen on the human team as they passed through a darkened doorway, slaughtering the puny ones in white coats in seconds.
They had learned to fear the scything claws and rending jaws of the enormous jackal headed mutants of his kind, but the weapons that some of them carried had to be respected, something that some of his race had yet to learn as shown by the lone Sentinel corpse propped up against the wall, it's face contorted in a sneer of rage.
Sensing that they had stayed long enough, Shan'toa growled at the other to follow and they loped away down the corridor and deeper into the base.

Lee looked around at the group. He could see a couple of scientists as well as a couple of what looked like mercenaries. all were armed. He had read the letter and wondered what had attacked the people here. He wondered what the scientists were doing here. Guarding them while trying to work out what happened here would be hard. He doubted if any of the scientists had any military training before. Gathering his gear he walked over to the group, wondering what else he would be told in the forthcoming debriefing.

Graevus's Move
several Cult of Marx Scientists as well as military units, launched a strike force into the Base, hoping to contain the crisis caused by the clandestine Biogen operations.
"All clear down here" voxed Sgt wulf. he had managed to get his men, the entirety of the strike force sent to this remote location by the cult of Marx, down to the second floor below ground of the labs. the scientists had almost all died, killed by booby-traps and mutant attacks. they had managed to disable many labs, and destroy lots of equipment.
the rest of his strike team entered the room. several of them were beginning to get sores and pockmarks as well as bad colds from the diseases rife in the place. many of them were wishing that they had put on their gas masks earlier on. suddenly the north west corner of the room, the opposite corner from theirs, collapsed, and several helots and Haemonculi dropped from some tunnel in the ventilation shaft. the strike team pulled out their recoilless rifles, pouring shots into the skeleton-like helots. but they are not fast enough. as the helots collapse, Haemonculae behind them open up with their flesh borers. plague beetles fly out into the tainted air of the base and gorge the eyes and torsos of the soldiers. in a few seconds, the entire strike team is either dead or disabled, and the living are dragged back into the tunnels of the base.
Meanwhile, Graevus starts work on a new lab, assisted by helots and Haemonculi. this lab is specialy created to provide mass produced mutants, growing them within hours utilizing special really really really really really strong growth hormones. the lab will be done in three days. mutants will be produced at a rate of 100 per three hours.

Natalie felt a bit at odds with some of the more well-armed people, or those who looked straight out of a research lab-she was a simple aspiring surgeon, barely out of university schooling. She also felt a bit ill-at-ease with the serious lack of any talking-it was too quiet.
She tried to lighten up the mood a little after the ominous note had been discovered on the base's front: "Well, it's a little cold out I guess..."
She blushed a little after speaking up. It was kind of a dumb statement, but it would tell her plenty about who she was dealing with by any responses-or by those who stayed quiet to a simple greeting.

Alex shook her head. She didn't like the sound of the mission...she was a big sci-fi movie nerd, and she knew that a research base going quiet, especially one way out here meant bad news. Really bad news. After hearing one of the other women's statements, she smiled grimly.
"Cold? That's an understatement..."

"I'd have to agree... I'd change into my gear here if I knew where the dorms are that those techs use..."
He glanced around. Where's the briefing officer?? Shouldn't he be here by now? Finally, he decided to look over the others in the group. He noted that all of them were also armed, although generally to a lesser extent. It looked like there was really only one other person who seemed to be on par with his training. Probably a mercenary too... There was an unusually large number of women here too. 4 out of the 6 of them... That was TRULY an unusual thing. All 4 of them looked like scientists rather than fighters. The one with the earpiece looks like a real piece of work though. Wouldn't want to get on her badside anytime soon... He decided it would probably be best to stick with the other mercenary, if only so they can decide who's going to be doing what when it starts to get ugly. He walked on over to the man. "Hey, I'm Joe... you a merc too?" he asked.

The representative of the organization stood up on the podiun and then said," Welcome to this frozen waste my friends.
To state we have now sent an electro-magnatic field and jammers to prevent any communication and hamper any attempt to file our location to anyone in the outside world.
So I shall now state the real reasons why there are so many soldiers first. It is that we have encountered ancient creatures below whom have decimated our earlier expeditions below. So therefore we gathered you all here to mount the expedition to the base below us to recover any surviving personal and to secure the base.
Therefore we shall not send the first wave below which shall be made up of our forces and volutneers. The volutneers shall be allowed to return within two hours of being below."

As the notification was given that all communications were jammed, she muttered at the sheer futility of the attempt.
"Does he think we didn't file our destinations before we came...?" she mused, in her native Japanese. "One would assume that having communications would be make for a more successful mission than not..."
It was at this point that she considered the ramifications of her demise, if it came to pass. She had filed her journey and expected time to the British Government and several of her friends were expecting her back within a month...
What would happen if she got killed? More than a few people knew where she was going, and she had left records everywhere of the actual position, from pins on maps, tags on google earth, records with the government, and estimates in text files.
What will they do to me if they ever find out?

(OOC: Please do not react to metagame knowledge. It ruins the suspension of disbelief. Not to mention you've directly acted against things she herself did not care about until you brought it up.
Yeesh, it's not even godmodding. It's stupidity. You've gone and destroyed perfectly normal civilian records, and acted on things said in casual conversation, which would cause far more trouble than leaving it be - Now, she hasn't just left on a month-long assignment in Antarctica, she's been tricked and abducted by some shadowy organisation!
All these things are involved in the whole process of arriving there, given that she's civilian personnel. She does do small talk, you know.
See, had you left all these things in place, the worst they'd have had to deal with in the event of her death was bluffing their way out of it. Now they're under direct suspicion, as innocuous documents, like emails and the job offer itself, now warrant scrutiny.)
"That strikes me as a rather dense thing to do... I wouldn't have bothered doing all that." she replied, pondering why in the hell these strange people would go to all that trouble. As a direct result of this, she resolved to act against this 'company'.
She then turned away, signalling that she would not speak any further to them.
Of course, the ransacking of her home, the tampering with her computer, and the attack on government files was now impossible to ignore, and obviously now people realised that things were amiss.
All these ridiculous measures worked against the company, as police teams conducted data recovery on her hard drives, and search aircraft began sweeping the areas of Antarctica where she had said that she was heading to.
(OOC: I can't believe you managed to escalate it yourself! You've kicked it from 'Oh no, we haven't heard from her in a while' to 'Federal Investigation' without any help!)
(OOC: For reference, Thought Russian)
Nataliya couldn't believe what she is hearing.
They want us to 'volunteer' to go into a death trap with nothing to protect us but a bunch of hired guns, she thought angrily. If Nataliya remembered anything about the outbreak at MAVERICK, everyone who went in never came out.
But it'll be fine. I just need to go in, obtain a sufficient amount of information on the technology, then get out of here. The WH15P was scheduled to return in two hours. But if she could get a message through somehow...
She would have to go with the frist wave. If she went any later, the complex would be ransacked and whatever in Stanislavs name was down there would be riled. She sighed, which sounded more like a grunt when it filtered through her face mask. She put up her hand.
"I volunteer for first." She said clearly, but it still sounded warped from the face mask. Not waiting for an answer, she walked to side and threw away her coat and hat. The cold-resistant swimsuit was designed for this temperature, and was heated for extra comfort. Plus, it gave a chance to show off the amount of weaponry she was carrying to anyone who thought she was just a pretty scientist. She slid the Shock Prod out of it's holster, and quickly tested it. Guns used ammo, and Shock Prods were a more effective weapon if she planned on ditching the group. She flicked through her goggle lens, until she could see the white and green of Night Vision. She checked for her USBs, and made sure her PDA was still working.

Risako stepped up next. She wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. She threw off the padded winter clothing, conveniently ignoring the fact that the lab coat was considerably less warm. She was wearing thermals underneath, anyway.
"I also volunteer for first expedition." she said, humourously ruining Nataliya's introduction by showing she was just a firearms-trained scientist.
She somehow managed to keep the FAL and the bag on, though. Looking into the bag, she checked the contents - she had prepared various chemicals designed to variously incapacitate or kill unwary people. She didn't trust this organisation - someone who would go to all that trouble was not worthy of it. If nothing else, she would need to eliminate the company's personnel to escape, as such efforts at suppression meant that she was unlikely to survive this assignment if she just cooperated with them.
Or, if nothing else, never see her friends and family again.

With a deep sigh, Alex spoke up. "I'll go first too...you might need me. I am the Electronics expert, after all." She stated. It was more to insert the fact that she had her own talents than true bravery. There was no way in hell she was just going to sit in the backseat while these other nutjobs got them killed.
Nataliya stood still, face expressionless. She couldn't guess if the other volunteers were either stupid, overly-brave or were planning on ditching the group aswell. Both of them looked young, especially the second one. She couldn't possibly have been any older than 22. Dam children. She inclined her head, and that was the only acknowledgement they'd get from her.
Her eyes turned to the expedition leader. Whoever this 'company' was, they couldn't be trusted. Everyone here was just another number, a resource that if destroyed would be replaced. There'd be no tears over the dead bodies of mercenaries and foreign scientists. And I doubt they would want any survivors. As soon as we retrieve that technology, were expendable.
All the more reason to get out of here.

These two seem trustworthy enough... I shall have to speak to them later. I'll probably be tormented by it later, but I suspect the expedition leader will need to be killed... The smell was overpowering to the creature's heightened senses, so much so that it almost masked the other smells wafting from the corridor.
Mutant blood... another kind, unfamiliar. Poison, a new poison... enemy!
With a yelp, the massive creature bounded up the passageway, away from the offensive smells.
Warn the others!

Graevus's Move
a lone Tyrant Cam observes the group of weakling humans from a ways away. it is half buried in the snow. it was discarded by Graevus's minions a while ago after it had been shattered by a Cult of Marx strike team. however, it had regrown missing limbs and "equipment", and was already reporting fully to Graevus.
Graevus himself is in his lair, prepairing to revive the prisoners, who now had several cases of Gangrene each, as well as small pox, chicken pox, the flu, anemia, botulisms, leprosy, and salmonella. Graevus mentally keeps track of the conversations.
"wow." he growls to himself, a horrible sound filled with the rumbling of lungs long succumbed to pneumonia and several strains of the common cold and SARS, " These people can't speak English at all, let alone Japanese. So many speaking errors, it is a wonder that they misinterpret each other's statements and turn their weapons on themselves! Their expedition will surely end in failure. Hmmm. Looks like one of them has already turned against the work of the "Company". This shall be fun indeed."
He turns to the prisoners. "Revive them." a Haemonculae with several bio-mechanical implants pokes them with needles extending from Mechadentrities. the prisoners gain temporary immunity from the effects of their diseases. they attempt to stand up, only to find that their legs are grasped by slimy tendrils that are covered in mucus. several of the vomit.
"Well human scum," begins Graevus. "You are weak. whereas I am strong. thus the protocol, as they say, is obvious." the Humans quiver in their boots, the leather of their soles now wrecked entirely, riddled with holes and soft porous fungi. "However, i may be willing to spare your lives. The suicide pills that you kept in your molars will not aid you now, for i replaced them with Gelatinous Ooze Extract. Side with me, and i shall grant you immunity to the effects of the thousands of diseases and viruses that swim within your internal systems. The alternative is a long, slow painful death that shall last for years."
One of the humans, a male doctor, agrees to help Graevus, the rest are dragged down into some unseen pit of hell.
a patrol consisting of 5 Haemonculi and 10 Helots encounters a group of Sentinals. a standoff ensues.
that night, from the camp, you hear a hoarse scream from the direction of the abandoned labs. someone steps into the clearing where you have made your base. as you focus several flashlights and whatnot on him, you see that he is one of the doctors from the Cult of Marx. he wears a tattered labcoat complete with several caked blood stains. aside from that, his chest is bare. you can see cruel, infected gashes, the green-tinted blood spilling from them barely contained by the loose bandages that hang off them. his feet are bare, covered in blood, frostbite, and gangrene. a medical assistant, some of you may know her as Freyja, helps him into a stretcher readily prepared, and he is dragged off to the hospital tent by people wearing gas masks. he is sedated, and all is silent again.
OOC: hope no-one has any objections to that one... shout me down if you will.

"I'll go if you need another," Natalie offered. "But I do have a question about all this."
Natalie had a gut feeling that something was up about this "expidition" that they weren't being told about. Likely the others had such feelings, but apparently they weren't speaking up. She swelled up her pride and opened up the words.
"Why are you gathering a bunch of hired people to do the job, when it seems you have much more professional forces to do the job?" she inquired.
Getting courageous, Natalie went on: "Or better yet, why don't you just attack the entire underground with explosives, rather than keep putting up the lives of others? If you've already lost several people, why risk more?"
It wasn't as if Natalie was afraid of being hurt underground-it was simply that she was slowly coming to the conclusion that they were being used as cannon fodder. Simple expedients to alleviate some underlying agenda for this shady organization.
Nataliya rolled her eyes. Gutsy bravado. Typical of young adults.
Did this girl not know she was risking a bullet, she thought grimly. This 'company' wasn't your average arms traders. All they would tell us was an A to B explanation, no questions asked. No questions meant ill-informed mercenaries, and i'll-informed mercenaries died quicker and simpler.
Looking over her fellow expeditioners, she could almost tell who would die first. The guns for hire would go down first, too absorbed in their bravado to consider the safety. You give a man a gun and he thinks hes Rambo. After them, probably one of the more adventurous scientists. Meek scientists would stick close to the guards. The confident ones would stray further, be more inclined to go first and would probably go solo.
Which is bad luck for me, she mused. She had only one option: Stick with the group long enough to obtain any technology or information, then get out of this frozen Hell-hole. That was presuming she was still alive by then... She shook the thought off.
Think positive. She removed her face mask for a second.
"Well, we go or not?" She said half-heartidly, almost grimacing at her bad English.

Natalie turned towards Nataliya as she spoke up. The words were a bit fragmented, but meaning punched through...almost a sarcasm statement. As if forced. Natalie began having second thoughts on this other, slightly older woman...as if she wanted to turn her back on the rest of the group. As if she wanted to...what? Betray them? To what? Was she working for this shade organization? Was she-were they all-pawns in some game?

At the elevator to the base below the commander of the expedition below said,” Alright, since you are willing to go I have been given permission to tell you the little knowledge that we face below.
As for what we will be facing are strong and terrible creatures able to render a man in half without any thought of it, they are quick to kill, vicious, hunt either alone or in packs, can be killed with a few well places shots, can literally learn our tactics, our quite efficient stalkers, can either see or use sound to find us where it is entirely dark, and there seem to a variety of them. For now that is all we know.
As for the caverns below they are really an ancient structure of some kind and that seems to be where they creatures were either created or spawnded. Furthermore, there are computer systems below which can be operated after a little tampering.
Any questions?”

Risako remained silent, watching the commander. She would need to find time to talk to Nataliya alone - she was her best shot at getting out of here.
Nataliya muttered something in Russian, but it was easy to guess what she had said. All Nataliya had been expecting were some renegade mercenaries, maybe a few mutated animals. But these....things were far more dangerous than any Karkofsky Virus zombie. These were intelligient, agile, vicious killing machines. She instinctively had her hand over the grip of her Makarov PM, feeling relieved she had brought it. The TASER and the Shock Prod all relied on the enemy being close, and CS Gas rarely had an effect on animals, nevermind some mutant freakshow. She had only one question.
"How m-many been down there?" She said as clearly as she could, trying to ignore the language barrier embarassment.

As she looked, she attempted to get details other than their rank. Like how many there were, and what gear they were wearing, and their faces, and what they were currently holding in their hands.
Nataliya digested the information slowly. Thousands of vicious mutants versus a small group of jarheads and scientists. They were doomed. Not that she planned on sharing this information with the group. They seemed wary enough of her already. Nodding slightly, she walked over next to the elevator.
The sooner we get in, the sooner I get out.

Yes, Graevus Moves Again! BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Graevus leaves his lair. as much as he hates to engage in physical activity, he wishes to personally inspect his operations. he already has a virtual hologram generator of the place, the generator is made of bio-optics (Graevus generally doesn't trust anything unless it has bio- in front of it), and when he had been examining it earlier, he saw the maze of secret passages, bio-traps (again with the bio-), rooms that swarmed with his minions, and his new bio-lab that would soon come into fruitition, allowing him to create more of his horde that would take complete crontrol of the base, and perhaps drive the humans off.
Graevus actually worried about the Humans, or came as close to worrying as a psychopath can. he may even have to deal with them personally! the thought of actually personally engaging in combat disgusted him. not to say that he was afraid of it, or that he doubted his skill with his rediculously huge sword, but he didn't feel like expending such effort to kill a bunch of jarheads and scientists who don't send in scouts or patrol the area around their base. Even Graevus, who had no military training, knew to do that!
Graevus dragged his diseased hulk through the sliding chitinous, mucus coated bio-door of his lair and into the somewhat less-dark passages of the sub-sub-sub-sub-sub basement. he observed the bio-security systems in the areas around his lair. bio-codifiers, fingerprint reading security systems that couldn't be hacked because they were alive, Venus-fly trap type organisms that hid beneath mostly eaten away areas of floor, completely invisible until some poor unfortunate stepped onto him.
All in all, his base within the base consisted of three levels, all with full security. he really didn't want to have to move a muscle to defeat any of those puny humans, and he shuddered at the thought of fighting people who could withstand his traps and diseases, as well as his minions. he recalls his own escape from the Bio-gen facility, navigating through endless passages with his comrade mutants, surpassing cruel booby-traps, facing down the silent Tech-priests and Skitarii, as well as the fanatical and loud confessors, fiery in their faith to the Tech-Gods, banned by the Cult of Marx's government. it was probably then that his mistrust of mechanical things began. thus the labs that he was creating would actually be immense breading-organisms, churning out his little compadres by the hundred.
a deep-throated laughter sounded from his throat, muffled by bubbling saliva, mold, fungus and other things that grew within his throat. somewhere on his back, a venomous pustule erupted, sending a small globule of green puss dripping down his spine. he waddled back to his base, dragging exposed organs behind him and leaving a trail of malodorous ooze behind him. the scent was nauseating to the sentinels, and he didn't want to deal with them if they got uppity. he would probably work out some sort of truce.

Joe gave Lee a good firm handshake. "I had no idea there was going to be anyone else here... especially so many women. But those are my thoughts exactly. Sticking together here would seem to be a good idea... as for the first wave? I'd almost say sure, but if we go down first, we're simply going down without any idea of what the hell is going to be going on. Best idea in my opinion is to wait for some folks to come back up-" He was suddenly interupted by a screaming man being dragged off by several men in bio-hazard suits. "Holy mother of- what in the hell was that all about?!" He glanced over at Lee, and they silently realized that this was a bit more than it seemed... "We should probably get our gear on. And maybe get some gas masks from those NBC guys..."
OOC: Sorry if it seemed like I was taking control of your guy Lee. I figure anyone would probably have that reaction, most certainly a mercenary and former special forces. As for gas masks I'm refering to the smaller variety that goes over your mouth and nose, not your entire face. Unless they make those with thermal goggles built in, because Joe would like to use the set he brought, especially since it's cold... as for first wave? Sorry to the lady characters, I don't think Lee and Joe are going... Lee can if he wants I guess. I'm just going to throw out a suggestion that it be something quick, with none of the players getting killed... Scar and Gerald can get killed if you want, but it would probably be more beneficial to have some disastrous first wave thing. And a big lol at Graevus's obsession with bio. Very nice.
[OOC: No offence, but bio-holograms?]
Nataliya stepped quickly on the lift, hands unconsciously clutching her Makarov. The mutants probably knew they were coming. As the others slowly climbed on she ran one final equipment check. She pulled out the CS Gas Dispenser and made sure it hadn't ruptured. She put a fresh clip in her Makarov, and made sure the Shock Prod and the TASER were still running. While adjusting her goggles, she changed the frequency of her earpiece to match that of the guard's radios. Lastly, using her PDA, she sent an e-mail and, under her face mask, she was smiling.
I just hope it's close enough.
Her smile disappeared as soon as she saw a terrified looking man being carried away by scientists, and a small wave of panic descended on her. What if there was no technology? What if this was all a trap? What if as soon as we descend, we are dead? She pushed these thoughts away. Fear and panic only caused hinderence in these situations. She had learned that from the Outbreak...
A patrol consisting of 5 Haemonculi and 10 Helots encounters a group of Sentinals. a standoff ensues.
The three large creatures stand considerably taller than the Haemonculi and Helots (roughly 7', I remember reading that yours are about 6'?) and pause, unsure of how to react. One by one the beasts sniff the air, catching their unfamiliar smell once again, it is disturbing.
Weak eyes peer at the strange shapes once again, counting and assessing their strength. Eventually, the leading Sentinel utters a low bark and all three turn and head back into their own territory, bearing another warning for their kin.

Lee watched as the first group set off down into the base. It seemed to him that Natalyia was trouble. she did not seem to be content wit this expedition and he had to say he agreed with her. To Joe he said, "Good idea. I wonder how bad it must be for people to be wearing biohazard suits." He was beggining to like this mercenary - their brains were on the same frequency. Speaking of frequency, he thought, he changed the frequency in his earpiece until he found the one the guards were using, as it was useless tuned to home base now. He suggested to Joe that is he had a ommunications device, then he should do the same. As they wandered off to find gas masks, Joe listened to what was going on sown in the tunnels and thought what his agency would be thinking now, wit no communication to him. He had three days before they would declare him MIA. He wondered what they would say if he was never found. Would they shrug it off and find another merc. Probably, though they would probably have to say some guff about how he was a valuble asset, albeit expendable. He wodered if he was about to be expended.

Eventually they reached a building that looked like some sort of armory. They walked in, and found that there was only one person in there, and he happened to be asleep. What the hell? No wonder they're getting their asses kicked down there... He said quietly to Lee, "I think we can probably get in here. The doors aren't even secured..." He pushed open the door and they found themselves in a staging room, with a sign pointing towards the armory. "Excellent. Let's get set-up in here, and see if there's any gas masks." Joe dropped his bags and began to empty them out onto one of the tables. He stripped down to his thermals and began putting the snow gear. Once the snow pants were on, he dug out the Dragon-Skin armor and put that on. Luckily it had a tac-vest built into it, so he would be able to keep ammunition and such in it without too much extra. Thinking about it, he decided that it wasn't really[I] that cold out there, so he wouldn't need the extra weight and discomfort of the outer coat. Besides, it was the middle of the summer down here, so there would only be sunlight. So he put on his snow pattern camouflage BDU jacket first, and then put on the armor. Leaving his weapons on the table, he remembered Lee's suggestion for a radio. He had completely neglected to bring one, since he didn't actually work with any corporation. That, and he didn't actually know there was going to be anyone else here... Well, if I get one of the gaurd radios, I'm one step ahead of the game. That, and it probably comes with all their encryption, if they even [I]use encryption out here. Man these guys were stupid... "You can stay here and get your gear set-up, I'll go back and find us some gas masks and anything else that looks useful," he said to Lee. He went back into the armory and was glad to see they knew how to organize. In fact, they were pretty damned good at organizing their stuff. He walked over to the NBC gear and found a pair of over-the-mouth gas masks. He put one on to test how they sound. "Test, test, one, two, three," he said to no one in particular. The sound came through them just fine. That, and his breathing wasn't too loud, so he wouldnt have to worry about that being too loud. He also walked to a group of electronic equipment sitting on chargers. He grabbed a radio, and left it off. Finally, he decided that it wouldn't hurt to grab some extra ammunition. He heard the commander mention 'thousands' of whatever was down there. The more ammo the better. Grabbing a bag, he dumped everything into it and walked out.

While Lee waited for Joe to go through the supply room, he put on his snow camo and thermal wear. He checked his weapons to see if they were functioning properly and hadn't frozen. By the time he was done Joe had returned. Seeing Joe's dragon skin armour he decided that it was time he upgraded his arsenal and got some of that. Noticing the bag at Joe's side bulging with extra ammo he complimented Joe on his quick thinking. He decided he'd better get some himself and quickly dashed into the storeroom and grabbed himself some, which he attatched to the belt at his waist and the two bandoleers strung from his shoulders, round to his waist. "Ready?" he asked Joe. I personally don't feel like having all these things crawling around. But until then, I think it best we just wait for the rest of the group to come up and report what they had seen." While he was talking, he went through the final things he had to do before he was ready to do anything. He checked out the pistol, changed out the clip for a fresh one, in case the one in the gun had had any issues from the cold, and holstered it. He repeated the process with the G3, and extended the stock so he would have more control, and slung it over his shoulder. He sheathed the knife, and then put the thermal goggles on his head, ready to flick them down when he needed them. Then he grabbed his side pack, and placed the C4 in one part, and the blast caps and remote detonator in the other. Lastly, he clipped the gas mask on. He didn't want to risk getting any diseases or getting poisoned out here, so he figured he shouldn't even risk it.
While the others were getting prepared, Nataliya located Gerald.

Nataliya stiffled a sigh. She found it hard working with the older, arrogant researchers at MAVERICK. How was she going to cope with this petulant child and her juvenalia? She mentally crossed her off the list of who she would seek for help. One of the older scientists, one who actually appreciated the dangerous blood-bath they were willingly going into. She eyed the Japanese mercenary, but severly doubted it. She was far too enthuisiastic and care-free, not what Nataliya needed at all. She sighed, this time audibly.

OOC: Alright, one of the things the Dark Eternals did in this base was to design it so that if one part was to be compromized then the rest would be still very stable and at no risl so an explosion would not really effect the rest of the base at all. Though the structure would not be really damaged by the explosion there is a relatively higher oxygen content donw here so the blast would kill quite a few.
(OOC: ah ok then.)
"The map is with the squad leader..."
"You hear that?" Lee whispered angrily to Joe. "They expect us to go dwn there, putting our necks on the line without even letting us see where we're going. What, do they expect us to run off or something?" While he said this and was waiting for their turn to go down he fiddled with his combat knife. This was something that he always did when nervous, angry or bored. Just looking at the fine, sharp edge helped relax him. Seeing a dull patch, he took out a small whetstone and started honing the blade. If what the briefing officer had said was true, then he was going to be needing it a lot in the next few hours and he wanted it to be as deadly and efficient as possible.

OOC: i told you. Graevus only trusts things with bio- in front of them.
a bio-hologram is a living being that has holographic projection capabilities somehow.
OOC: to the mercenaries: (singing mockingly) Graevus has a maaap! Graevus has a maaap!!!
OOC:this "round" ill be introducing some other minions of mine: servitors. they suck
Graevus does shit!
Graevus sat back on the stone floor. he had long forsaken comfort, as chairs that he sat on usually became so infested with lice and other vermin and insects that their structure failed and they collapsed. at least, he thought it wasn't his weight.
a proximity alert sounded. looks like one of the bio-cams picked up on some intruders trying to enter the base through the elevator. Graevus dispatched 10 haemonculi and 10 Helots to dispatch them. he didn't want to take any chances this early on, when the defense systems around his new bio-lab were still growing, their claws barely 6-inches long, their fleshborers barely able to launch plague beetles. some of them were still teething, poor things. didn't want to get too near them when that was happening, laws no.
He hoped the servitor he had sent to the camp was doing his job. he had killed all contact with him for the time being. didn't want some wet-behind-the-ears biologist intercepting their conversations. he would send smaller version of his Bio-cams to investigate later, but for now, he would have to wait for his bio-lab. damn bio-lab. those things take forever.
Graevus's little detachment spots some sentinels along their way to gorily rendezvous with the mercenaries. they motion for the sentinels to follow them, speaking in guttural versions of whatever language that the sentinals speak, growls or whatever.
a servitor, bound, his face covered with leather, his bottom jaw missing, his tongue rotted, approaches the sentinels hideout. several of them spot him, because he is not all that hard to pick out in the narrow halls of the lab. he lurches along, one foot boneless and dragging behind him, every now and then he treads on an exposed nerve and yelps with pain. he also grunts as he moves.
OOC: The Sentinels speak whatever language the Dark Eternals spoke, they can understand it reasonably well but prefer to communicate in short and to the point phrases, sometimes even just well-placed barks or growls. They don't have a hideout as such, beside the original quarters intended for them, but you would spot some on the way to the elevator because they tend to hang around doorways and such and fulfill the guarding purpose they were bred for. They will be found predominantly on upper levels and as such aren't fully aware of Graevus' setup in the lower regions yet.
Sentinel's Quarters, First Floor.
Shan'toa silenced his brethren with a growl and they all listened to the strange yelping and shuffling noises from the passageway outside. They hurriedly took up positions around the room and awaited his action.
The servitor enters the room and is nearly immediately set upon by the large creatures, before Shan'toa can bark loudly and call them off. Lowering himself on his haunches to get down to eye level with the thing, he arranged the words in his head, as well as being the largest of the pack he was also the best speaker, relatively of course.
"I see you, dead thing. What want you with us?"
Passage to Elevator
The two Sentinels, bemused by the gestures of the party of strange looking mutants, followed a little way behind, growling softly to one another.

At the elevator the Commander of the unit said," Alright we are going down and everyone is to be ready to fight as soon as the boor begins to open again."
With that he hit the elevator buttton and the entire platform they stood began to decend and when they were below the surface a large metal door closed behind them and the only light to be come now was from the track lights and their own flash lights.

If he opened the map at any time, she would watch to see what security measures were in place, and possibly to discern part of opening procedure (without revealing herself).
Near the elevator doors
The two Sentinels with Graevus' unit were startled by the rumbling approach of the elevator. They stood stiffly for a moment, exposed and in the open, waiting for a signal from the mutants who had led them there.

Graevus Strikes Again!
The Servitor Near the Sentinal Area Thingy
The Servitor, although he is missing his aforementioned bottom jaw, is able to speak through a vox bead attached to a Vox projector in his exposed throat
"Greetings, Sentinals, Servants of the Dark Eternals!" the vox projector exclaims in a throaty voice that makes the Sentinals shudder, "Graevus, Bringer of the Plague, Herald of Mortarion, Host of the Destroyer Hive wishes yo present you with a GIFT!!!!! He wishes you as well as your Dark Eternal Masters to know that he is your Friend! And BEHOLD! YOUR GIFT!"
a second servitor, this one more intact than the first, and bearing a red robe and moving on a set of four spidery legs emerges from the gloom, pulling a large wheeled steel box. he moves it to the fore of the sentinals, and keys some sort of code on a bio-keypad. yep, bio-keypad. Graevus has those.
anyway, the front of the box, with a hiss, falls forward, forming a sort of ramp. out of it steps a creature that, like a Helot, wears a pitted Roman style helm. unlike a helot, it has flesh. lots of it. in one hand, it carries a heavy Rifle of some denomination, and in the other a broadsword covered in the puss that oozes from his hand.
The first servitor exclaims: "BEHOLD! The Being that you see before you is one of Graevus's most Trusted Lieutenants! Graevus wishes that you should accept him as a WORTHY COMBATANT and that he should PROTECT you and FIGHT ALONGSIDE you if such Situations were to Arise. that is all!"
The Two Servitors exit.
The Passage to the elevator
The mutants motion to a solid looking wall. they walk right through it. one sticks his head out and motions for you to follow. you do, noticing a pair of bio-hologram projectors. yep, the wall is a hologram. you can see through to the other side, and you wait for the elevator to reach the bottom.
Graevus's Chamber
Graevus observs the events with a lopsided, psychotic grin.
Lieutenants
Lieutenants are Graevus's Direct Henchmen, leading and co-ordinating attacks and other such things. so far, he only has two. he can only produce them from corpses or warm bodies of humans he has killed/captured.
Height: 7'
Description: These once-humans tower above normal "humies". they are big sinewy creatures that move on two legs. they bear archaic metal armour of some description, complete with roman-style helms. in one hand, they bear a "Bolter", a heavy rifle that is usually too big for one handed use. however, it has a "pistol grip" that allows the Lieutenants to hold them in one hand, absorbing the recoil with their diseased bulk. their swords (mentioned above) are smaller versions of Graevus' sword described earlier. they usually stuff their weapons into their flesh, keeping them there for storage and re-poisoning, drawing them out at the slightest hint of danger. they speak a gutteral version of english, as well as many other languages that Graevus has seen fit to program into their bio-memory chips. they are faster than Helots, but slower than Haemonculi.

The two Sentinels with Graevus' unit were startled by the rumbling approach of the elevator. They stood stiffly for a moment, exposed and in the open, waiting for a signal from the mutants who had led them there.A voice that had long been in the mind of all the mutants created by the Dark Eternals began to call them to elminate all those whom were foreign objects which were in the base.
Near the Elevator
The elevator arrived at the ground floor just as the Sentinel's own instincts kicked in. Unfortunately for them, the foreign mutants crowded with them behind the hologram were much closer than the new arrivals. With vicious howls the enormous creatures attacked the Helots and Haemonculi, the space behind the hologram suddenly becoming a battleground of scything claws and snapping jaws.
Sentinel's Quarters
The two Servitors had left before the primal message finally reached the room's intended occupants. This new... thing hadn't, however. With snarls of rage, the Sentinels leapt at the diseased thing, six of them in total literally trying to pull it apart with tooth and claw.
The suddenness and ferocity of the attack was most likely overwhelming.

Graevus STRIKES AGAIN
The hidden passage near the Elevator
the two sides engage in a gory melee. the Haemonculi, agile beasts at worst, quickly withdraw further into the corridor, spraying with their fleshborers as the Sentinals are tangled in a melee with the Helots. by the time the last of the helots has fallen, the Haemonculi vastly outnumber the remaining sentinals.
**EDIT another standoff ensues, this time however, the Sentinals are trapped: before them are their new enemies, behind them, on the other side of the hologram, are the Humans. (Creepy organ music plays).
END EDIT**
OOC: aah. the advantages of both ranged and melee troops.
Another standoff occurs, the two remaining Sentinals staring viciously at the Haemonculi, who, if they had eyes, would be staring viciously back.
Near the 'ole Sentinals base.
The Lieutenant, with an agile spinning sweep of his pus-covered sword, tosses off the Sentinals that were upon him. they fall back, slightly wounded, but the telltale marks of blood infection upon them are beginning to show.
the Lieutenant reaches into an exposed wound in his side, drawing his Bolter. Thousands of shots echo off the walls as he sprays at the crowd os Sentinals. however, the Sentinals quickly withdraw, as this fearsome warrior almost entirely eliminates their number advantage. The Lieutenant also withdraws, pausing to snap shots in the direction of the Sentinals base, until he is at a safe distance (i.e. within the perimeter of Graevus's base.
during the fight, the two Servitors grab a few only slightly mangled corpses, to be converted into new Lieutenants. that is that way they are made by the way.
Graevus
Graevus watches the events unfold with slight anger. a few Helots were dead, however, he had gained several new lieutenants. a more than fair trade. however, what enraged him was that the Dark Eternals had made a mockery of his gifts.
never mind. the Lab was seconds from completion. hundreds of his servitors were maintaining (i.e. feeding themselves to) the great Lab-beast. others were inspecting it's venom sacs, and other Lab-beastish things.
A servitor lumbered up to Graevus, struggling under the weight of a huge 120lb venom sack attached to his back.
"sir, the Beast awakens."
"Excellent. commence construction immediately. in addition, have everyone consolidate at the base, except for the party near the elevator. i have a job for them."

Graevus just kinda read some stuff and is gonna describe things
The Sentinal lesser mutants have little luck killing things of Graevus's, for everyone has drawn back behind the lines of defenses around Graevus's base. stats for the Defense Organisms are described below.
Carnifex
Height: 5'
Description: The Carnifex is like a giant immobile leach that can camouflage and spit acid. they are stuck to various points on various surfaces, and can easily bite the head of something human-sized or swallow hole a smaller organism. more deadly is their acid spray, which eats through anything. except them. obviously
Spore Mines
these are little Mines that drift around exploding when shot or when they come into contact with enemies. they are almost mindless, and drift at random. they are the size of an ostrich egg.

Graevus gets bored
The Lab-beast
The new Sentinal-mockeries stepped out of the birthing canals of the Lab-beast. already fully grown, they possessed the sword-arms of normal Sentinals, but an extra pair of muscular arms that were to grasp their more trademark weapons. they were hustled by several servitors down to Graevus's other factory, the Hell Forge.
The Hell Forge
The Hell Forge is one of Graevus's less biological inventions. it is heavily guarded by mutants and defense beasties, but at the core it is mechanical. this is where Graevus obtains medical instruments, guns, swords, bio-mechanical implants and the like. it contains facilities for working all materials immaginable.
The two new Lieutenants stood in a central podium as quick surgeries were carried out, implanting brain enhancements and the like. eventually, they are given their weapons, which they quickly stash within themselves in the trademark fashion.
100 mutants, divided equally amongst Helots and Haemonculi join up with the Lieutenants as they leave the Hell Forge and navigate through Plaguebearer created tunnels in the vague direction of the Sentinal base...
OOC: No need Marx, I'm dead. The two Sentinels near the elevator were of course going to die and you can knock them off easily. I'm a little upset that one mutant with a sword can somehow singlehandedly defeat six enormous creature that set upon him from close range, and a little more upset that you took the liberty of posting my losses for me, that said, you have slain pretty much every Sentinel on the base so I'm not even in a particularly good position to do the same back. I think your incredible numbers AND superior mutants are going to probably unbalance this severely for the other players.

OOC: Naasha you got it wrong. 'pologies for any of those misunderstandings. "one mutant with a sword" fighting off six "giant sentinal things" or whatever you called them is one giant mutant with a sword, mostly lightly wounding the sentinal things, and then firing a few retreating shots to deter the rest of them, who would probably overwhelm him. so what if he is trigger happy? anyways, i only noted that the sentinals near the elevator were casualties, as i felt sure they would die. they were able to overwhelm the haemonculi, which at the time was a great loss. anyway, your boss can still show up and pwn things better than their mutants.the others are up to you. my mutants may be "superior", but tactically, i usually make sure i have some sort of advantage, numerically or terrain wise. if there are thousands of you and one of me, i make sure that i m in a narrow hallway or something. if there are thousands of me and one of you, i spread out your lines until they break, or whatever the Tactica Imperium says on the matter. i simply chose to be independent because i don't like to be subordinate to anyone. and since i don't have big things that can't die, i get some better mutants.
also OOC: i have no idea how much things is left in your base. you never specified any kind of numbers, and since the other mutants aren't really posting, you can have thousands. heck, even more. i will refrain from doing anything right now because it either involves you, who unfairly didn't get a chance to move because of a misunderstanding, or because it involves the humie scum, who seem to be taking a while to get out of the elevator.
**EDIT: anyway, a bunch of mutants with sword arms as their only weapons is kinda tactically dumb. make some more if you want. i mean, i keep introducing things like objectives for the humans to kill. or NPCs that they may encounter throughout the whole underground thing... whatever it is called, as well as biodiversity. just makes things better. the Lieutenant is a boss monster, don't expect to bring it down with s6 word armed people without a fight! in addition, don't let the DMs or whatever the forum RP equivalent is "force your hand" it wrecks the game, just like metagaming does. **END EDIT

OOC: For the Humies: so far there are 4 objectives that are Graevus related: 1: destroy the Hell Forge; 2: Destroy the Lab-Beast; 3: Kill Graevus 4: destroy Graevus's base of operations
OOC: the mutants that Graevus creates can't breed, and therefore don't need to be entirely cleaned. that would be just too impractical, hunting through a maze of burrowed tunnels, hologram fields, and the like.
Graevus does things in his base
Graevus laughs to himself as his first division of the Plague Bringers departs from the Hell Forge. He turns to several servitors, each with some large debilitation that is so common amongst them, and begins to give orders.
"Servitors, you must collect PDAs and the like from around our base. if you find a larger computer system, alert me. i should be able to gain access from here. once access is gained, load the data into the Mem-chips inserted into your brains. make it so"
the servitors scuttled off in different directions, and soon Graevus began to piece together the puzzle of what happened in the Lab before he came.
OOC: Imperial Isa, that one was just for you. i have started fiddling around with computers. give out information, or whupass, or whatever.
IM OUT FOR GOOD THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!! well, until tmrw...
OOC: Marx, I think Scandinavians introduced this as a character roleplay, to me it just seems stupid that the human players have one character each that can't stand up to even one of your bio-enhanced nasties of which you have conjured hundreds. I tried to create my own mutants with an obvious weakness, the lack of a ranged weapon (and advanced intelligence) in order to put them on par with the humans and create some interesting roleplay. All this is going to be is a complete bloodbath as each human is going to die to whatever bio-wanked unit you throw at them. You have clearly set out to 'win' this roleplay, which in my opinion is the complete wrong way to go and will result in exactly that, a shitty thread in which you wtf:mp5: pwn everyone until someone has the sense to drop a tacnuke on you.
since i don't have big things that can't die, i get some better mutants
the Lieutenant is a boss monster, don't expect to bring it down with s6 word armed people without a fight!
I find these sentences to be a little at odds with each other. Besides, it might just be me being a carebear or something but I would have thought that fairness, as well as common sense dictates that even the bossiest of boss monsters would have an incredibly hard time 'throwing off' six creatures that are about the same size as him when they attack completely out of the blue.
OOC: Sorry, I was pissed off at an unrelated event and it kind of spilled over onto here.
It looks like this kind of roleplay isn't for me so I'll just assume you've overrun the remaining Sentinels on the base, there weren't many anyway. Hope this thread does well but I'll remain an observer from now on.

As well, I do not mind the fact you have strong mutants, but everyone has a weakness, such as the sword mutants are weak to light in there and will flinch when exposed to the light not emitted by the base's light blue lights, so much so even a common flash light mounted on the edge of a gun will cause them an entire group to go into a daze for about a half of minute.

OOC: Honestly? I think the problem is that we've accidentally treaded on two very similar, but thematically different genres.
One one hand, we have the soft, vulnerable Civilians and Mercenaries. The Humans. Every one of them is easily vulnerable to attack by mutants, and could be torn apart.
The company soldiers would fall into this category, too, despite postmodern hardware.
On the other, we have Isa's space marines, who can tear through practically anything. The humans have no chance against them, and any mutants geared towards the humans will be cut to ribbons by their OMGFUTURISTIC weaponry and can't breach through power armour.
Any mutants geared towards them are not subject to the whims of the Humans' weaponry. If it can survive a bolter, it can completely ignore a FN FAL.
We need to establish a proper setting. Is is a few very powerful mutants with specific weaknesses (eg. Alien) or is it a bunch of weaker ones but there's quite a lot of? (eg. Starship Troopers 'Bugs')
Either way, Isa's space marines need to be removed, or I'm going to bring in X-Com. Nothing else would have a chance.

The mutants are divided between a few smart quite a bit stronger then the normal mutants whom relay on their overwhelming numbers to overwhelm the enemy. The lower mutants basically fall a horde to take down one humans, except a more powerfu mutant for far more powerful can take down a couple of humans then they are killed. By the way lower mutants flinch for a couple of seconds when in light, killed with a well placed shot or multiple shoots like a human, the more powerful mutants take about a round to kill, and in general humans will overkill anything less then five lesser mutants.

Though, as for those not of this realm, save the living dead, are not allowed as I do not want it to get the complitcated as I can get bored and just send n a couple of Eternals and end this thread if it went like that, but what I am saying do not suck the fun out of it.;)

ok. for the benefit of fairness, i will list strengths and weaknesses.
of my troops, etc.
Graevus's lesser troops have almost no minds, and take orders directly through psych-links from Graevus. this does not apply to the Lieutenant, Graevus's greater beings.
Haemonculi: strengths: tremorsense, therefore not affected by light etc; fast; weaponry. Weaknesses: easy to kill, vulnerable even under their small lair of chitin
Helots: Strengths: physically strong; poisonous swords. Weaknesses: easy to kill, slow, are sensitive to light.
Lieutenants: Strengths: really physically strong; weaponry , strong rifles, and sword(poisonous); bulky, can throw off creatures because he just weighs so much, as well as use his rifle and sword at the same time; not mindless. Weaknesses: slow, blinded by any light above that of a muzzle flash; easy to kill, as they do not wear armor.
Defense Beings Strengths: variety of adaptations, poison, gaping maws etc. Weakness: really easy to kill.
Graevus: yeah right. you will have to figure my boss out by all the rping that I do.
OOC: what the hell has happened to all the humans? only one of them seems to be posting anymore.
OOC: by the way, my mutants are medium strength, medium numbers. they are partially based off of Tyranids, and the Lieutenants are based off of the Death Guard Chaos Space Marines, but without a lot of armor. Graevus is based off of a greater daemon of Nurgle.
OOC: DAMN YOU HUMANS, POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM WAITIN' ON YOU!!!!!! either get to the bottom of the elevator, or interact with the Cult of Marx guy.
OOC: Naasha: wanna play the Cult of Marx guy? i'll PM what he is about.

OOC: i'd just like to point out a few more things about what i think of this RP. firstly, when i saw Imperial Isa's first and second posts, i knew that i would have to deal with swarms of stronger things than me. as a matter of fact, it looked like the humans would only be a minor threat, seeing as they would not have the best idea of what was what in the base, not being adapted to the darkness, and other such things.
later on in the RP, i witnessed the many divisions amongst the humans, and their threat was further um... downgraded or whatever. they threatened me a lot less, as they seemed to be intent on shooting each other more than mutants. so i obviously would have geared my mutants to those whatever they are that Imperial Isa is sending down.
anyone (Scandanavians) wanna tell me what is in those computers? you are the DM figure here, and i figured it would be under your jurisdiction.

The elevator after a long descent opened with the commander of the group ordering a number of troops to the entrance and all they saw was nothing as their llights gave them little sight in the infinite void.

you said the Eternals are of shadow so are those troopsOOC: Well, the background of the Eternals and Dark Eternals is that they are now pure energy beings due to their own evolution and that happened over billions of years, but to note if they are shadow beings like orcs then it is okay.
