Official Announcement of the Allanean Government

We would like to announce that, with the recent adjustment in Allanean foreign and military policy, the United States no longer has a need in the vessels of the Third Haven Domination Fleet. As such, the fleet will be decomissioned, and the vessels transferred to our ally Sniper Country.

However, the United States of Allanea will strenously deny any allegations that we are doing this because we wish to somehow 'suck up' to Gholgoth. This is completely, totally, and utterly untrue. We remain loyal to our friends in the Sovereign League.

In a shocker worldwide, the United States of Allanea have seemingly given an entire fleet of naval warships to the Confederacy of Sniper Country. The Senate released an official statement earlier today, which stated:

We graciously accept this token of appreciation from our longtime allies, and plan to put these ships to good use in the Naval Forces. As many know, we are still in the process of revamping much of the SCAF, and this fleet will only help further along the advancement of our troops.

Allanean officials were quick to state that this was in no way an attempt to, quote, "suck up," to the Gholgothan Empire, which has been in the news, most recently, in their backing of founder Damien Dreadfire and Automagfreek in the war against slavery. The Senate acknowledged this, but gave no official response. While the timing does come as suspicious to some, no one is currently questioning motives. "Simply an act of good faith by a longtime ally," Senator Allen McPharson was quoted as saying as he left the Senate Building this afternoon.

Allanea, a previously well-thought-of Free World Power, has come under a whithering hail of fire from both opposition parties today as the country announces its second military aid package to Gholgoth in so many weeks. So far, the Government has refused to come out with any comment on the deal after criticising Allanea's last ship donation to Automagfreek.

The Duke of Warburton, [head of the main opposition Liberal Party] condemned the Allanean move as "short-sighted and deeply naive," claiming that "in the long term, aiding tyrannies and those who harbour and protect them serves only to slow the spread of free market liberalism throughout the world." The Crown Loyalist Party also issued a press release, condemning Allanea for "aiding and abbetting known enemies of the Crown without consultation." It is believed that any incoming Liberal or Crown Loyalist government after the next election would seek to weaken ties with Allanea, a country increasingly preceived as a loose cannon.

Meanwhile, the government has not issued a comment on the situation and has refused to respond to questions on the matter. A source close to the Secretary of State for War hinted that Allanea's actions would be tolerated as the recipient, Sniper Country, had not expressed any intent to provide material aid to Automagfreek in its controversial war with Doomingsland. However, a source close to the Prime Minister suggested that "military options" were being considered to prevent "the further hemmoraging of the Free World's military power to its enemies."

A leading defence industry magazine, Strategic Review, added weight to these suggestions by running a series of articles on the belligerent options the Government has at its disposal and their likely outcomes, including a plan to sink the Allanean ships being transfered with orbital bombers, and even a proposal to use the Imperial Navy, which is still at a state of full mobolisation following the out-break of the Freek-Doomani War, to sink the entire Allanean fleet in port.

The magazine concludes, "since the Allanean Government has repeatedly taken it upon itself to offer vast quantities of military equipment to established enemies of the Crown, seemingly without even informing its allies, the War Office is no doubt considering all the options it has at its disposal to stop the further reinforcement of the striking arm of Gholgoth from the Free World's coffers."

Although the Government still refuses to comment, Grand Admiral Sir Barrington Antrim dismissed claims that the Imperial Navy was "training to launch a Copenhagen-style blockade and bombardment of a fleet base of unspecified origin," as "absolutely ridiculous," and denied all claims that the Navy was using its state of full mobolisation to prepare for operations against Allanea.

Allanea, which is currently recovering from a major economic collapse, is not expected to be able to resist any attack that may take place.

Official Response of the Allanean Government to the Praetonian Government

It is well known that the United States of Allanea is not quite of the woods yet in regards to the Pilonese Depression. While the value of our currencies has rebounded rapidly, and foreign investments and donations (most importantly, the 300 trillion dollars donated by We Buy It, Inc.) have allowed a near-complete recovery, we are still unable to maintain fleet numbers of our previous amounts. As such, we have donated military resources both to Sovereign League nations (like, for example, Skinny87) and to other old allies (for example, Sniper Country, which has been the ally of the United States of Allanea for long before the Sovereign League had been founded). This both strengthens our allies and reduces our expenditures on the maintenance of the navy.

As for our donations to the Excessively Armed Empire,that matter is simple. We do not – as apparently the Praetonians do – believe the EAEA to be the 'greater evil' in the Doomani-Freekish War. The Doomani practice every single violation of human rights known to man – they have an Inquisition, they execute people for victimless crimes such as selling marijuana, they genocide Jews and other ethnic minorities, and they practice human chattel slavery. Frankly, the more Doomani soldiers and state officials die in terrible suffering, the better.

We have offered the Praetonian government to have first choice on the vessels in question, which they would have received, free of charge, from us, and yet they have refused. Again now – we are offering them our battleships, our aircraft carriers, and our cruisers for free, on condition that they are not sunk, but incorporated into the Praetonian Navy. We would like the officials of His Majesty's Government to arrive at Roanoke-Island at a time of their leisure, to take their pick of various weapons that our Navy is no longer making use of. It is likely that we will be shutting down another Haven Domination Fleet entirely.

However, we would also like to point that, despite these budgetary constraints, we are taking steps to establish budget-friendly measures for the defense of our borders. For example, one hundred Khan missiles have been procured from our allies in ZMI for the use installations mirroring the defense of San Nereiana (except of course on Roanoke island), as well as large shipments of torpedoes and Shockhammer missiles from the Roanoke Island Kriegzimmer installations.

Long has it been the position of the Government of Kahanistan that both Automagfreek and Doomingsland are hostile regimes. They are completely at odds with our society in their way of warfare and the way they treat their own people, and have tried to destroy us in the past.

However, we consider AMF to be the lesser of two evils; one will not find slavery, religious intolerance, or Big Brother surveillance of citizens in Automagfreek. Further, we believe AMF's military position to be weaker than Doomingsland's given the fact that the Doomani are on the defensive, and the terrain of Doomingsland is extremely inhospitable.

The shipment of weapons to Automagfreek is intended solely to level the playing field; no nation in the Free World would support AMF on its own merits and we are appalled that the Sovereign League is supporting Doomingsland. The SL are no different from MassPwnage, a free nation allied with Doomingsland that does not seem to realize that its ally would stamp out the very freedoms that they so cherish.

In an official response to the government of Praetonia today, the Senate unleashed a volley of remarks concerning statements made from a Praetonian news source. The source, unidentified at this time, insinuated the possibility of the Praetonian Navy being mobilized to strike the fleet which is currently being prepped for shipping to Pascagoula Naval Yard. While the likelihood of this happening are slim at best, the remarks are disturbing enough. Senator Cameron Leonard had this to say:

The Praetonians have never come into contact with anyone from Sniper Country, as far as our records show. We contest they do not know the workings of our nation, much less have the sense to back off when they know good and well the situation has nothing to partain to them. The fleet offered by Allanea will arrive in Pascagoula Naval Yard as planned, and nothing will stop that. It may be forewarned, however, that any hostile strick against the inbound fleet may be met with a fierce retaliation.

Of course, these are the words of but one Senator, and not the entirity of the governing body. The reasoning behind the Praetonian response is unclear, although it does seem as if there is confusion on exactly to whom the fleet is going. Sniper Country is the sole recipient of the package, with no ships going to the military of Automagfreek, a very close ally of the Confederacy. While Sniper Country has always had what is known as the, "You call, we haul," agreement with Damien Dreadfire and Automagfreek, it has rarely been called into effect, including the current war between the Freeks and Doomingsland. The agreement states that whenever the SCAF is called upon by Damien Dreadfire, it will react to the order with swiftness, supporting the Freekish military in whatever endeavour may be of the time. Automagfreek is the only country in the world with which the SCAF has this sort agreement.

While it is still unclear the intentions of the Praetonian government, the Senate stands ready to respond, in kind, if needed, to any act pressed against them.
