Major Dynamics, in association with the World's Most Impractical Weapon's Storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=510316), presents, the newest innovation in Landcruisers, and the cheapest, the Rose Island class Amphibious Landcruiser!

Rose Island class Amphibious Landcruiser

Many modern navies find themselves turning toward Corvettes, or small littoral combat ships for the patrol of coastal waters and the enforcement of their maritime initiatives. It is about time that there is a ship capable of both land and sea combat. The Amphibious Landcruiser will bridge that role and provide deadly antishipping missiles, while also being able to make landfall in support of an invasion, or to seek, safer hiding places.

With a rather flat bottom, and several tracks borrowed from the other Landcruisers, it can easy rise to the occasion, and make landfall wherever there is a beach, or similarly flat sloped land. Its massive 175mm ETC main gun gives it a powerful antishipping, artillery and antiarmor capability and it can easily penetrate any currently available main battle tank with ease. For antishipping, it mounts 2 C-802 antishipping missiles, one facing starboard, one facing port. This new Chinese made missile, is comparable, or even better than the Harpoon, and caused significant casualties and a mission kill against the Israeli Navy by the Hezbollah militant group. For antisubmarine use it operates 3 Hedgehog Spigot Mortars which fire dozens of contact mortars far from the Landcruiser. Their advantage as contact mortars means that they will not cloud SONAR like depth charges. For antiair defense, it mounts a dual 40mm Bofors gun just rear of the open turret 175mm Gun. The ship itself is ringed with mounts for light machine guns to prevent boarders from seizing the relatively slow moving ship.

However, when the Landcruiser makes landfall, its greatest surprise is revealed. A whole new set of weapons, in ball turrets, hidden underwater and retracted into the bowels of the ship. All these turrets have 160 degrees of motion and use electrical motors to help retract and turn them. The new main gun is a 120mm ETC antitank gun taken from the latest generation of main battle tanks. Just behind it on either side of the ship, one starboard, the other port, are two 40mm Autocannons that can shred vehicles. Below the ship hang 6 remote controlled ball turrets with dual .50 caliber machine guns. They are in the A, B(starboard), B(port), C(starboard), C(port), and Z position to ensure saboteurs cannot approach the Rose Island without tasting hot lead. And finally, 4 more turrets complete the offensive equipment, 2 starboard, 2 port, of 60mm Gun Mortars, which can fire flat trajectory like a gun, but are also capable of high angle fire like a mortar. Their turrets have an extremely high mobility and have a nearly 360 degree coverage.
