I don't know if a lot of people know about World at War™, but it was a semi-successful role play series. Two of the various games, lately, were really good but success began to wane as advertisement for offline forum games (even if they were based on NationStates) were disallowed. I want to reopen the idea, even if the role play has to be done on the Jolt forums. There are still many of the original people around, so they probably already know what it's about, but for those that don't the concept is simple. Basically, the game relies on real world geography and allows each NS nation to choose on real nation to role play as. Say I choose Greece - I role play Greece in its geography and with its natural resources (although some things have to be exaggerated due to the massive population), but NS economies and NS populations. Of course, we have to ignore the problem of the lack of natural resources for nations with the populations of the entire real world, but natural resources still stick to their countries. In other words, there is no (or little) petroleum in the Czech Republic.

It might not be entirely realistic in the way that the game is formed, but apart from that we try to keep a 'realistic' setting. In other words, World at War is entirely about role play and most of the players that have played at least one game have come out writing multiple paragraphs. You role play with NS military sizes, and of course, NS politics reworked to fit real geography. If enough players are active this game is really fun, and our old players can vouch.

Unfortunately, no, because that would require too much work and would be difficult to make obvious to new players. You could always reconquer those areas and rename your country. As per claims, this is just an interest thread.

Hmmm...I might be interested. However, instead of claiming Iraq would I be able to claim parts of it and Kuwait and re-create the Sumerian Empire?

This looks pretty interesting. School starts in a few weeks for me, and after that I don't know how much time I'll have, but this does look very interesting and I'd like to join. Now, since this is not a claims thread, I'm assuming we don't have to choose now which nation's geography we'd RP?
