Random Improvements In San Nereiana [ATTN Haven]

In the meanwhile, in the state of San Nereiana, in Southern Haven, the Allanean Army had come up with a cheap, yet efficient way to reinforce the local defense systems. It would be a rational, low-cost, and yet highly powerful upgrade.

Visualize, if you will, a single underground bunker, hidden somewhere on the beautiful, white sandy beaches of San-Nereiana. From it, a variety of hidden controls touch off a variety of weapons.

First among those are concrete torpedo six-packs, spread at sixty-kilometer distance intervals along the very edge of the territorial waters of San-Nereiana. As such, there is approximately six hundred kilometers between the easternmost and westernmost torpedo sixpack.

Back on the shore – hidden about five hundred kilometers inland – are six shore-defense tubes – each hiding a single Khan missile. Like the torpedo six-packs, they are spread out and nonreusable – a strike at the location from which the Khan had been launched is completely useless. They are spread at approximately one hundred kilometer intervals from each other. Also spread – though hidden on the very beaches proper – are quinntuple-tube missile launchers launching Kriegzimmer-made Shockhammer rockets.

All of those are controlled by approximately three men sitting in that one bunker. All they need to do is choose targets on a map and push a button. Six more men live in the bunker with them - three shifts, holding guard for four hous at a time, and a commander to arrange the entire thing.

There is a thousand of these bunkers, shielding San-Nereiana from attack from the sea. The firing sectors of their weapons overlap.

But this is not everything. Additionally, one thousand Incinerateur gattling cannon are spread out, ten kilometers into the shoreline, to protect San Nereiana from enemy fire, as well as 100 of the famous Stormhammer cannon. These, too, are remotely operated – ten Incinerateurs and one Stormhammer from a single inland bunker. Each sits on an automated feed canister, separated from the cannon proper by several meters of sand – 'just in case' of some freak attack.

And yet this was not everything. For Allanea must be protected from not just ordinary, but nuclear attack as well. And thus, a hundred more command bunkers are installed, and from them are controlled – 100 USABM rockets, 1,000 SuperSprint missile quadpacks, and one hundred ABM lasers.

In total, twelve thousand personnel are needed to man the new fortifications and to provide them with the rare support services they need.
