Now, I'm just wondering. How many people would join if I constructed an RP that is based on the Civil War. There will be three primary viewpoints/choices to be as a character:

Proffesional Soldier:
Union Enlisted, NCO, Officer, General
Confederate Enlisted, NCO, Officer, General

Now. Unlike the real Civil War battles will be at fictional (or real) places, with fictional or real outcomes. The effectiveness of the unit will be based on how effective its plans are... the Officer's job. The chances of the job succeding if variantions needed to be made is the Non-Commision Officers (NCOs) and the Officers' jobs. Well... this is not completely true. If you don't have a determined RPing Soldier then you don't really have a chance.

Militia:
Union Militiaman, Union Militia Officer
Confederate Militiaman, Confederate Militia Officer

You will only be able to organize into company sized units, although you can link up with proffesion regiments. Your main job will be to protect your city.

Mercenary/Calvary:
Mercenary
Union Calvary, Union Calvary Officer
Confederate Calvary, Confederate Calvary Officer

Now the Mercarny can be with a band, but they will be led by the most veteran mercenary, may that be you or someone else. They can switch sides.

Calvary is pretty much the same as Proffesional soldiers, except the weapons are different and the tactics are different.

Now, in this RP when your man dies, you will be re-incarnted into another soldier in the same unit.

Ok, dokie. The first battle will take place at Fanwood, Alabama. The Confederates have a supply depot and a train station. The numbers will be 10,000 Union troops against 7,000 Confederate troops. We'll start when we get more people.

Yes, I'm going to join. Just in a rush right now and don't have time to put up a character.

To clarify, when you said, you're "going to be ordering" me, what exactly did you mean, a colonel is higher than a sergeant.

Also, must I be in your regiment, or can I create my own?

I mean as the director of the RP, like i'll be an omnipotent General ordering your regiment this way and that.

You can start your own regiment, it can be a veteran one, but if it is then it can only have less than 1,200 men. A new regiment that had just been trained can have a max of 2,000.

Calizorinstan you don't have Gatling guns in this.

Oops my bad, altought my explaination would have been that when my men came upon the Union camp they would have found some, becuase around 1863-4 the Union fielded Gatling Guns albiet in small numbers, but just because you asked I'll edit my post to say prepare the cannons instead.
