As many of you are probably aware, a Mister Mayers- founder of Teraqi Enterprise, at last count controlling ninety percent of the Teraqi economy- recently bought out the privatized police, and declared himself ruler of Teraq. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=523041)
Today he consolidated power when members of SecureCorp, who have been functioning as Mayer's private army since before he siezed power- stormed One Westler Street, and executed all fifty-three members of parliment, as well as several aides,
Twelve hours after the bloodbath, there had not yet been any report, hardly surprising considering Mister Mayers owns the mainstream media. Finally, Mister Mayers made a public service announcement, explaining the 'sadly necessary measures' taken to 'ensure the continued prosperity of Teraq'. He also offered assurances that at the earliest possible opportunity, he will 'personally appoint a new legeslative body'.
Readers may be interested to know that Mister Mayer has gone on record proposing that the welfare system be replaced with forced labor camps, and that protest of government policies be made punishable by years of hard labor.
