Vetakan General Election 2007

Today marks the 1st Vetakan General Election. Across the nation Millions of Vetakans make their way to the polls to cast their vote. To decide whom will lead them into the next 8 Years. This will be the First Election since the end of the Vetakan Civil War and will be a show of Democracy in action not just for Vetaka but for the world over. Below is a list of the Candidates:

Vetakan Freedom Party (Seeking Re-Election):

Leader: President Roxanne Victoria Wright

The Current ruling party of Vetaka elected immediatly after the Vetakan Civil War. The Freedom Party was instrumental during the Civil War and was founded by the Vetakan Hero Daniel Pearce. It intends to continue its current course of Economic Growth, Democratic Introduction and Supporting the newly formed The United Federation of Allied Nations. The Freedom Party is the Favourite to Win.

The Vetakan Confederation of Communist & Socialist Parties (Seeking Election):

Leader: Joesph Hanland

The League was formed when the 6 Socialist Parties and 2 Communist Parties met to discuss the up coming elections. The result of the meeting was simple they would form the League in order to better the Chances of Election by the Populace. If elected will continue UFAN Membership but would also seek GUSN membership. It would freeze Democratic Introction pending the Economy being Socialized.

The Vetakan National Party:

Leader: Micheal Andrew Parker

A very Patriotic and Nationalist Party formed during the Civil War and was part of the Freedom Party. However in the aftermath of the Civil War they broke away from the Freedom Party and wanted Vetaka to remain in Isolation and build up its Militray Force for Mutral Defence. It would restrict Freedom and Democracy to defend the Greater Vetakan Good. Would withdraw from UFAN and seek Corporate Alliance Membership and begin a Imperial Foreign Policy Agenda.

The Vetakan League of the Black Phoenix:

Leader: Unknown (Does not Show Face)

Was until very recently a msyterious occult however it has now entered mainstream politics and is funding a Presidential Candidate. Not much is known about its Manifesto as they refuse to release such information to what they call the "Inferior Temple" meaning the general Population. Is the least likely to succeed in the election.

Honako pledges it's support to it's UFAN ally Roxanne Wright and her Freedom Party government, and our vote goes for them to be re-elected.

Vetaka Today Breaking News:

"Good Afternoon and Welcome to Vetaka Today we interupt the current Broadcast to bring this breaking news. Live from the city of Helgan. The Police have been battling to keep order and control after numerous peaceful election rallies met and have turned into full blown riots. Vetakan Police have decleared and emergancy and requested help from the Vetakan Defence Force. As a result VDF 1st Army Units are deploying to ensure order. It is believed the riots were caused when Confederation Communists and Nationalists Election Rallies met in Helgan Park and began fighting. From their general destruction broke loose. We understand 2 people have died and a large amount are injured. Police Responded by deploying Riot Police supported by Water Cannons and other Riot Units. All Politcal Leaders in Theeb with the exception of the Black Phoenix released this statement:

"We the Politcal Leaders of Our Parties call upon the People of Vetaka to avoid such destructive behaviour and use your vote."

Vetaka is currently in the centre of its first election since the end of the Vetakan Civil War. Results at this time for the Election show that the Current ruling Freedom Party led By President Wright are running neck and neck by suspected underdogs The League of the Black Phoenix.

Altough we understand the argument of the old Clandoria citizens however we also believe Whyatica Occupation is required in order to re-stablize the ntion. "Ladies and Gentleman you join us live from Freedom Square in the City of Theeb Capital of Vetaka. Details are unconfirmed at the moment but we understand a second Riot has broken out between Nationalists and Communists. At this time their are no reports of dead or injuryed however we do understand 5 people have been arrested. Thanks to the swift response by the Police supported by the Military the riot was over quickly. At the moment we understand both sets of supporters have been seperated with the nationalist rally being held in Rose Bud Park in the north of Theeb and the Communist/Socialist Rally being held in August Stadium. The Police and Military have said they will not be imposing dispersal orders or a curfew. However the VDF is now heavily deployed across Theeb and Country as a whole.

"Until Recently Vetaka was part of the Sovereign League and the Questerain Commonwealth. However the Vetakan Population found both to be hypocritical and used their Democratic right to protest against Vetakan Membership. As such I as Vetaka's President Left. At this time I find the Sovereign League to be hypocrtical. As for the Praetonian Govenment I find them to be some what stuck up and have the feeling that they feel superior to other nations. Vetaka is not a member of the GASN however we are an avid supporter of their actions. Nor I or Vetaka has had any contact with the Illiorian Nation as such I have no opinion. I respect Lord Dreadfires actions and the arguement he is fighting however I feel their are more peaceful ways and means. The DNN reporter like two of the answers, but the other ones only made him made. But he was reporter, so he couldn’t show his anger. He would have to play it cool.

Yes, the comment from Mr. Hanland was perfect for a communist or socialist talking about a nation known for her anti-communist ways.” he said, taking a pause, “Mr. Parker’s comment are perfect for a nationalist. Official Diplomatic Communique

After examination of the candidates involved, the Commonwealth of Peltapavlosk puts its diplomatic hopes into the victory of the Freedom Party. Although a Socialist state only recently emerging from the March Revolution, we find the plans of the Communist and Socialist candidates in this election to freeze the democratisation of the political and economic system contrary to the ideals of 'socialising' the Vetakan nation, and therefore fear that the current plans would bring about a Stalinist Bureaucratic counter-revolution by creating an undemocratic elite, particularly in economic planning and the control of business. Democratic devolution to the workers rather than democratic centralism to the state should be practised in the majority of the economy.

As the various members of press asked their questions stood at the back of the room a tall man waited. His hand in his suit pocket wrapped around a 9mm Pistol the time was now the room had become silent. He branished the weapon and fired three shots towards the Poidum where President Wright stood waiting for a question. As he did so the shooter screamed:

He turned to fire more shots at random targets however the Presidential Bodyguards fired spraying the shooter with Machine Gun and Pistol Fire.
