Aj Ud dies
Transcript of latest news bulletin

Jean-Carl Luthier (presenter): “And our main story today is of course the death of Comrade Aj Ud (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Aj_Ud), who was Prime Secretary of Ariddia for 45 years, from 2074 to 2119. Comrade Ud was 96 years old.

Aj Ud was born in 2032, and educated at the University of Rêvane. He was first elected in 2074, running with the Democratic Communist Party, and was then re-elected for eight more consecutive terms.

Comrade Ud, an Indigenous Ariddia, will be remembered for his active role in increasing the country's relations with the outside role, and for having been a leading figure in creating and shaping the Uhuhland Union.

Having never married, and having no children of his own, Mr. Ud - described as "healthy, but increasingly frail" - had been living with his younger sister’s 37 year-old grandson and the latter’s family, in a flat in Rêvane. He was found this morning by his sister's grandson's wife. Doctors have confirmed that he died in his sleep, peacefully.

Tonight, Ariddia is in mourning. Mr. Ud's successor, Comrade Nuriyah Khadhim, visibly moved, has expressed her heartfelt condoleances to his family, and has praised her predecessor as "a truly remarkable man, for whom I had the utmost respect and admiration. He will continue to inspire me, and countless other Ariddians, for as long as we live." These feelings have been echoed by many others throughout the country.

We take a look now at international reactions..."

While it's undoubtedly sad, the word "tragic" doesn't have a place here. Comrade Ud lived for ninety-six, and had a full life; it's not a tragic circumstance that he finally passed away.

IC:

Comrade Sun Dan-Moon, Foreign Minister of The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea, walked stiffly and waxwork like into the press conference room in Pyongyang, and up to the podium. In front of him was the press corps, made up exclusively of members of The Korean Central News Agency, that made up the various radio, tv, intranet and press news mouth-piece and organ of The Worker's Party Of Norf Korea and ultimately, The Great Leader, The Sun Of The Nation, And Of Mankind, the long-time ruler (or dictator) of Norf Korea.

Usually, such a press conference, would be used for propaganda for The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea, to be dished out in large quantities to it's people, and others by The Korean Central News Agency.

Today however, was differing slightly, in that there would be a slight divergence from this.

Only slight, for the plain-faced member of The Korean Central News Agency who was to ask the first question had been scripted to do so, and he stood up now, raising his left arm, bent at the elbow, his hand clenched into a determined fist.

"THE GREAT LEADER IS THE SUN OF THE NATION AND OF MANKIND! HAIL GREAT LEADER! HAIL!" he shouted.

Everybody in the room, dressed in the Soviet-Style military uniform, repeated the proclaimation and posture, as was compulsory within The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea.

With such formalities out of the way, the 'journalist' if you could call him that, asked his question, addressing the Foreign Minister at the podium.

"Comrade Sun Dan-Moon, Foreign Minister of The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea, Led By The Great Leader, The Sun Of The Nation And Of Mankind, I am sure you would like to comment on the sad news coming out of The People's Social Democratic Republic Of Arriddia today concerning the death of Comrade Aj Ud, the former long serving leader of Arridia."

The 'journalist' sat down, unsmiling but comftable, his role played for the day concerning this press conference.

Sun Dan-Moon answered the question with the preparedness and formal professionalism you would expect from someone who knew this question was to be asked. He spoke rapidly but monotonously.

"The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea, Led By The Great Leader, The Sun Of The Nation, And Of Mankind, is saddened and morose upon hearing the news of Comrade Aj Ud, who led Arridia for so long.
Under Comrade Aj Ud's leadership, Arridia prospered and thrived under a socialist system, a tradition that continues to this day."

Sun Dan-Moon paused to catch breath, before continuing,

"The thoughts of The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea, Led By The Great Leader, The Sun Of The Nation, And Of Mankind, is with loved ones, comrades, and the people of Arridia, but they can be comforted that the good lives they lead today is a legacy of the leadership of Comrade Aj Ud's leadership, and can be comforted further still therefore, that his long life left such a legacy to be proud of."

The answer given, Comrade Sun Dan-Moon, Norf Korea's Foreign Minister, looked point-blank at another 'journalist' who was to ask the next prepared question.

His cue given, the journalist stood up to ask his question.

A short time later, the press conference was made available to Arriddia's news programmes and channels and others, to broadcast and quote.
