Somewhere in Llanoran
True, warfare was still going on. The Raven Corps mercenaries were still fighting the Llanoranii and Allanean soldiers. But even though violence had not yet died out out completely, the Allaneans felt that real work could now begin to take place in Llanoran – important, rebuilding work.
As such, more and more troops were now sent into the country – but their mission was not to kill, this time. Instead, they provided emergency aid to the areas most struck by the warfare. They rescued men from burning buildings, they carried the injured to field hospitals, they distributed thousands of tons of rations to the starving and ill.
But this was not everything.
Even as negotiations were still going on, the Allaneans decided that this was as good a time as any to start aid to the Llanoranii government. The aid was of several different types.
First of all, while the size of the Llanoranii military was being reduced, the Allanean government did not want to see the nation they had promised to protect become completely defenseless. As such, 10 Napoleon IV Class missile cruisers were donated to the Llanoranii navy, to replace old ships lost in the war. This would also cut maintenance expenditures on the United States' own navy.
Second, Allanean soldiers would be ordered to train the – much reduced – Llanoranii army, to pass on expertise and knowledge gained by generations of fighting. When Allanea's protection would be eventually downsized, the Llanoranii would be able to defend themselves.
Third, even as discussion of the treaty was still going on the, the Army began to use it's engineering vehicles and capacities to fix roads and utilities devastated by the warfare.
This would, of course, be only the first step.
Colonel-General Pyotr Grebenchikov, the commander of the Allanean forces in the area, was already on the ground, traveling towards one of the big cities of Llanoran. He had requested a meeting with the representatives of the Llanoranii government.
