Corporal Mark Anthonia stood at the Estara Lasmar Border Crossing that connected his Corporate Police State nation ruled by General Walker Martin and the Liberal Democratic state of Jasatu. Corporal Mark Anthonia was extremely happy with the position he had within his national government's border security as well as the economic excellence that his nation was heading towards with many Fortune 500 companies coming to invest in Cealaar for its relaxed economic and corporate laws. However, unknown to Mark or not on his radar for caring, the government of Cealaar under General Walker Martin was a Corporate Police State and it had existing tensions under the well successful economic surface and to keep thus issues from exploding to the surface the government had begun to push some of its smaller neighbors and neighbors in general with regards to some economic agreements with regards to Cealaar oil, natural gas and electricity resources that its nearby neighbors needed to keep themself warm in winter. These agreements were causing friction with Cealaar neighbors and with the national government highlighting a border dispute with Jasatu that ran 45 miles deep into Jasatu western territory because a new oil and gas field had been found in that area was not sitting well with Cealaar's neighbors. However, Mark Antonis just sipped his coffee and sat in his seat at the border security post.

--------------------

History of Dispute:

The nations of Jasatu and Cealaar are born from the same crumpled older empire however, when the empire was collapsing the border was not clearly notated on the Jasatu western front and Cealaar eastern front. However, with it not being valuable at the time of the two nations being formed six years ago, the border was to be negotiated. However, with economic tensions as well as the discovery of oil the Cealaar government has put in a claim for the entire area as it was ruled by Cealaar administrators nearly a century ago under the old empire.

Java City, Jasatu:

In the capital city of Java City in the nation-state of Jasatu there was the President of the nation Andrew Richardson and the social military junta that met to discuss social and other political issues that had to be dealt with neighbors in their region, especially the troublesome Corporate Police State of Cealaar. General Andre Rochse and Generals Shawn Rogers and Vernon Nichols stood behind the President of Jasatu as they looked at the map of Jasatu and had the coloring marking of the region that Cealaar claimed as their's by right.

President Richardson said;

"Does Cealaar have a claim against our nation with regards for the forty five miles they are claiming as their's? That is a huge bunch of territory and not only will it give them another 15 billion dollars in resources and another population boost of 33,000 people."

General Shawn Rogers stated clearly;

"The Cealaarian people have no claim to that territory."

General Nichols concluded;

"That is why we have nearly 1,000 troops and border guards that will protect us if they do decide to attack since they have some social problems in their state at this moment."

President Richardson stated;

"What about our proposal for joint access to resources, I don't want a war."

"No response".

------------------

At the border with Cealaar there was a small deployment of nearly 16 soldiers in a small encampment near the Cealaar border station. With several soldiers relaxing and resting near their tents and another three soldiers stationed near their military vehicle some of the troops watched the night sky and the beautiful stars they could see.

Several Cealaar border guards stood outside of their border post where they noticed a vehicle in what they considered a no man's land between the Cealaar border and the Jasatu border. They therefore shouted a warning at the vehicle and saw several people move. As they saw the people move in the shadow toward the border of Cealaar, in actuality to the vehicle (military) the several border guards opened fire with their semi-automatic weapons.

With the sound of gunfire, Mark Anthonis and five more border guards came out of their outpost and opened fire on the vehicle as well from their positions near the outpost.

The Jasatu border soldiers ducked as bullets whized over their head. A young private Jasatu conscript was shot in the shoulder and collapsed in a ball and held onto his shoulder as blood began to trickle from his wound and being covered with his red blood. Another Jasatu soldier was shot and wounded in the stomach by another bullet from the Cealaar side of the border and the non-wounded soldiers returned fire on the Cealaar border post.

Cealaar border guards ducked at their border post as 5.66 mm bullets from the Jasatu soldiers splintered into the border-post door frame. A border guard shooting from one of the windows in the border post was struck by a bullet in his left side of his face and badly wounded his left eye and cheek bone, breaking in and having him collapse screaming from the pain that the bullet had caused to his face.

Mark Anthonis gasped softly as he clutched his chest as blood began to spill from the two wounds he had received and felt the blood drip down onto the cool ground. He dropped to his knees as his lungs filled up with blood and crumpled to the ground as more blood seeped around him and felt his blood force slip away.

Another Cealaar border guard also dropped dead from another Jasatu bullet to the head and he collapsed. Surviving Cealaar border guards continued to fire at the vehicle and the soldiers in no man's land before pulling back after the fifteen minute battle leaving two border guards dead and one injured in the border post.

Jasatu sergeant Micahe Ansamaron stood and fired several more shots at the Cealaar border post and ordered his Jasatu troopers to gather together, and found out that four Jasatu soldiers had been wounded and another soldier had passed away from the fighting with the armed men from the Cealaar side of the border. Micahe Ansamaron with four unwounded troopers quickly and silently crossed the border into Cealaar and entered the border patrol station from where the gunfire had originated. Seeing the wounded border guard, two Jasatu soldiers grabbed him and quickly stabilized him and with Micahe go ahead they headed back across the border with the wounded Cealaar border security trooper bypassing his two dead comrades.

Java City, Jasatu:

President Richardson picked up the telephone on the third ring and listened intently to the Interior minister as he spoke;

"Tonight President several Cealaar border guards open fire on a patrol of our soldiers. If the gunbattle that occured, it resulted in the death of one Jasatu soldier and two Cealaar border guards. We have taken one of them prisoner and have sent them to a nearby military hospital as they have severe face and eye injuries. What action should we take sir?"

"Get the General prepared to make a joint statement. The foreign affairs will release a brief statement."

Looking at his desk, Richardson noticed a letter from the nation of Gataway and read it in its entire wording.

To Cealaar National Government
From Jasatu Foreign Ministry;

Tonight a border clash occured between our forces resulting in the tragic deaths of 3 people. However, we have captured one of your border guards and will question him to see if your forces illegality attacked our forces or if it was our forces in error. Until then we ask you to not do any rash actions as wel try to find out what occured.

To Gataway National Government
From Jasatu Foreign Ministry;

The nation of Jasatu does not believe peacekeepers need to to be provided to our border with Cealaar. However we would like to discuss our border issues with Cealaar in a neutral state and if you are willing to host that would be good.

The Cealaar government has received the same accounts from its border guards in the region and they all indicate that the border guards fired upon a vehicle in the no man's land betwen our nation and was then fired upon after giving warning by your military forces. We thusly believe that your troops should stand trial, the border guard that was captured returned to us and the 45 miles of territory transfered to Cealaar control. If that is not completed we will declare that your nation is agressive against ours.

A patrol of Cealaar national troops numbering about 100 soldiers, six tanks and several personnel carriers crossed over into Jasatu territory and entered into a small village of 60 people. The lead tank as well as two other tanks fired tank shells at a Jasatu military post, firing five tank shells in all. Cealaar ground troops also opened fire on Jasatu military positions and entered deeper into the small community.

The patrol took light gunfire and responded with four more tank shells and gunfire in the direction of the attacks. After two hours, the troops left the small village and retreated back over the border into Cealaar with one dead soldier and four soldiers wounded in the operation.

A small village in Jasatu containing no more than 60 people and a small police force and not a military force engaged a Cealaar attack of more than 100 soldiers. The police station was hit with four shells of the first five fired at the village police station wounding three police officers and killing a teenage civilian woman. The unwounded police officers engaged with small arms fire killing a Cealaar trooper and receiving three fatalities and one more civilian fatality with two soldiers and two civilians captured by Cealaar troops before they withdrew, leaving 5 Jasatu citizens dead.

To Cealaar National Government;
From Jasatu Foreign Ministry;

The attack by your forces on one of our border villages in the disputed area is despicable as you wanted captives to use as a bartering chip for the one border guard detained by our forces. This action cost us five citizens and the lost of four into your hands. We demand that these acts of agression be ceased before we increase our threat level and may have to sever relations with your nation in the near future.

To National Gataway Government;
From Jasatu Foreign Affairs office;

With the violence that has left 33 people dead in the past six days over the border between Jasatu and Cealaar we do believe that a military force possibly (U.N) or other peacekeepers should set up a DMZ and implemen a cease-fire to ensure that no more people are killed in this violence border clash. Negotiations should be started immediately between our national government and the Cealaar national government and we ask for foreign nations to again apply pressure on the Cealaar national government o agree to a cease-fire.
