(OOC: This is a continuation of the battle between Unified Sith and myself. This thread is closed, unless you are already in the Phantom Invasion thread, and within close range to the skirmish that is occurring near the fifth planet in the Asfaltum system.)
It was dark, only the emergency lighting system was on. The entire crew was unconscious, laying at their very stations. Many of the monitors were sparking, all in all the ship was in trouble.
The Battlestar Orion was the victim of a sneak attack by an Imperial Star Destroyer. Although a Battlestar would have some chance against a Star destroyer. If the Battlestar took it by surprise, the ship could have a chance at disabling the Star destroyer, but since the Battlestar was taken by surprise, they had little hope, and no chance of rescue.
Their last ditch attempt to throw off the Imperial Star destroyer so far seemed to work. By overloading the FTL drive, and using the new holo cloak system, they were able to make it appear that they jumped away. Although it would take 20 minutes to re-spin the FTL jump drive, it was worth it. Although having the drive spun up was pointless, as the entire system was covered in FTLi’s. A most despairing truth for the Colonial Battlestar.
The Gunstar Solar Flare however continued to pound the Imperial Star destroyers shields. The Gunstar was much smaller than a Battlestar, and it’s primary use was fleet support. It had very few Anti ship cannons, and even fewer missiles, but what it lacked in those it made up for in sensor jammers, and Anti fighter and missile flak cannons. The ship was designed to be another shield for the fleet, not the primary attack vessel, which it was now in the role for.
Moments later the Solar Flare, emmited a white light and vanished, leaving the same energy signature, as it overloaded it’s FTL. The tactic was desperate, but it was needed to regain access to the computers, and to move into a position that the Colonial Fleet could gain the upper hand.
On board the Battlestar Orion, the crew begins to wake up
Commander Dala, puts her hand to her head. Her head feels like she had a hard night of drinking at the officer’s lounge.
Commander Dala, shouts Damage report.
Lt. Nicholson replies: Draidus is still down, FTL is down, damage control teams are trying to get the Auto cannon’s back online. Holo cloak is holding, sub-light engines are in the green, as well as thrusters. Shields are up to 40% and rising. If we can hold off for a few more minutes we can get full shield protection again.
Colonel Kilmens responds, Lets just hope those bastards do not see us by then.
Commander Dala looks at the white planning table under the draidus. “Get our birds back in the air, as soon as possible. Before they launch make sure they cloak with the back drop of space, and loaf their internal missiles with nuclear warheads. “
All main batteries load the EMB shells. At the first sign they see us unload all hell on them. Prepare the blackbird and stealthstar squadrons for launch.
Colonel Kilmens responds, “We will only get one shot commander.”
Commander Dala, responds, “We will only need one.”
