The following announcement has been released to the press and foreign nations by the Presidential Office of the DRBL.
This morning, at approximately 0700 local time, the DRBL military succeeded in bringing down the head of a terrorist organisation operating within it's borders.
A car carrying former army general Vladimir Kraljivic was intercepted by a military vehicle in the area of Kraljevo. A firefight ensued during which the former general was shot dead by armed forces, along with three other terrorist operatives who were travelling in the same vehicle.
This was a part of the until now top secret operation 'Flying Glory'. In addition to the assassination of the former general, the military branch of the police force this morning raided no less that 30 residences in the capital, and seized numerous arms and munitions which are in use by the terrorists. 50 arrests were made and 43 of the terrorists were shot dead at the scenes after resisting arrest.
Following this, a private aircraft was held at the capital city's airport after 10 terrorist leaders attempted to use it to escape the country. These 10, along with the pilot, are now in the custody of the military police awaiting trial.
At 1045 local time, the military, with the help of the Serbian army, raided 45 villages in the south of the country, shooting dead 567 rebel soldiers and bringing almost double this number into custody.
Heavy fighting continues in the region at this time, as we continue to target these rebel groups and bring them to justice for their crimes against the state and people of this great nation. We expect this situation to be resolved by this evening. 5 rebel groups have surrendered so far today, which leaves 3 yet to do so. However, we have opened talks with one of these groups.
We would like to praise our own 'Red Beret' special forces for their efforts in this operation, as well as our own armed forces and those of the Republic of Serbia.
This operation has been carried out to stabilise the situation within our borders, and we believe it to have so far been a success.
However, at present, our southern border is CLOSED TO CIVILIAN TRAFFIC and will remain so for the duration of the operation 'Rising Glory'. Anyone wishing to enter the country must do so via the Eastern border. Tourists are advised against traveling to the south of the country at present, until the situation is completely stabilised.
We will keep the press and other foreign authorities updated on the progress of the situation as news comes to us.
