Sovereign League Resignation

Ollieland

From the Desk of the Governor, to all members of the Sovereign League

The government of the Colony of Ollieland, led by Governor Connie Chung, has hereby come to the difficult decision to officially resign from the Sovereign League. We originally joined the League believing it to be an organisation that would promote democracy, peace and human rights. We have found it to be lacking in all three cases.

Certain members have been allowed to run roughshod over other nations with blatant imperialist and expansionist attitudes and aims, others have picked fights with weak nations of the world, whilst with good intentions and objectives, painting the League as bullies.

The latest stance taken by the League concerning the Freekish-Doomani war is a step too far for Ollieland. The fact that a leading member can sanction lending warships to such an oppressive regime as Doomingsland, citing them as the lesser of two evils, is beyond our comprehension.

We have tried to voice our concerns within the League and have been effectively ignored by other members, making us almost pariahs amongst the League. We believe the time has come where our own beliefs and the beliefs of our people can no longer sanction membership of such an organisation.

However we would like to point out that we wish all League members no harm and wish to retain good diplomatic relations with all members if possible.

The time has come to ditch Realpolitik and stand up for what we believe in. We urge all Sovereign League members and all nations of the world to do the same.

On behalf of the government and people of the Colony of Ollieland
