This is a psychological/supernatural thriller, sign-up if you're interested.
The human mind is a marvelous organ. Millions of years of evolution dedicated to its' developement. A vault of rational calculating thoughts and processes balanced with emotional responses and feelings. The mind's abilities span from simple breathing to the building of monuments that stand the test of time. Intricate nerves, glands, and tissue...that's all it is, but yet so amazing. Contanining infinite possibilities and avenues. Sadly, there is also a darker side, a dark nerve buried deep within the subconsience that we fear and do not understand. War, rape, murder, hatred are a result of this dark nerve. Constant bombardment can cause the mind to fracture and split into two parts. This dark nerve takes control of a seemingly normal man and turns him against himself and his neighbor.
In Massachuesetts lives Andrea Burrows, a woman who lives a modest life as a bookstore owner and an advent reader herself. Life is simple, calculated, and boring. She is single but owns a cat in the small town of Foster Creek, MA.
Foster Creek is an all-American town where everyone knows everyone. But something strange is happening and Andrea is the first victim of a dark swarm which overcasts the town. A brutal attack leaves her mind fractured and spirit broken, seeking comfort she visits an antique shoppe out of curiosity and discovers a mirror which seems to draw her closer, compelling her to purchase it. Something happens and her personality is altered, opening a door in her mind to which a new entity, occupying the same body steps through. Her alter ego, Jessie begins to take over her mind and body. Now, people begin to die and the local police are overwhelmed by the new wave of crimes committed by a seemingly phantom killer. The police struggle to stop the killings while Andrea battles against Jessie for control of her mind and body. The mirror holds the key to her future and the answers to the town's troubled and hidden past, a secret so horrible that certain people will do anything to keep it hidden. Will the authorities solve the mystery in time? Will Andrea be able to survive? Or will Jessie take complete control?
