The Corbournnian Elections

Corbournne
28-03-2007, 23:21
Yesterday, the United Socialist States of Corbournne held its popular elections.

Parliamentary Results

The National Socialist Party of Corbournne- 4 seats
The Green Party for the Furtherment of Environmental Interests- 8 seats
The Corbournnian Democratic Party- 11 seats
The Corbournnian Socialist Party- 32 seats
The National Communist Party of Corbournne - 45 Seats

President Arthur Ian Wexingfield's switch to the Communists from the Socialists definitely seems to have turned the election in their favor. They still are in the minority in Parliament, though, and have allied with the Socialists, who unanimously nominated Wexingfield to remain President.

Many are perplexed by the Socialists support of the Communists in light of the President's change of heart. Most thought that, with his switch to the Communists, Arthur had effectively destroyed his chance of remaining President. Even those who had faith in the Communists though they would have to win a majority in Parliament to nominate Ian to his second term.

Already, previously allowed small businesses have begun to be converted to government control, and their owners compensated for losses. They will remain in their respective field and in the same building if at all possible, working at their trade for the good of the people.

Honako is upset that the The Green Party for the Furtherment of Environmental Interests did not get more of a foothold in the politics of your country. We would also like to enquire, does this mean your nation is now fully a Communist one?

The Order absolutely refuses to accept the results of your supposed election, and our intelligence network has indicated to us that there was vote tampering. No people in its right mind would elect a communist government.

Should an official investigation in your country not take place and find evidence of election fraud a large team of “special investigators” will be dispatched to your country to correct the situation.

Signed,
The Führer

Honako: President Arthur Ian Wexingfield apologizes for the lack of votes for the Green, but you must not hold this against the ruling parties, as we are the choice of the people. In response to your other questions, we are a conglomeration of socialism and communism. Not quite as fanatical as pure communism, but further left than pure socialism.

Hallad: Here is our embassy thread. Feel free to apply for one and from there, you can request trade. http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=521775&page=2

The New Order: There was no tampering. No people in their right mind would elect an illusioned leader such as yourself. Any "investigators" will be met with the full force of the Corbournnian National Guard.

Official Response
As your government refuses to so much as scrutinize elections in your country it falls to the New Order to do so. If so much as one citizen of the New Order is detained by or injured by a person directly or indirectly employed by your government within your country it will be considered an act of war.

Actions
A series of A440s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A400M)were instituted in place of regular civilian aircraft in flights to Corbournne. Airlines within the New Order announced a record number of people wishing to visit Corbournne, and that the number of daily flights would be increased to 500 flights per day.

For your information, we did. We tracked all votes from the booths to the central computer that processes them. There were no mistakes made that would effect even one seat in Parliament. We are closing off our airports to your planes until further notice.

OFFICIAL RESPONSE
If you have truly accounted for all the votes why do you object to members of the international community from reviewing the results?

The New Order is completely outraged by the closure of your country’s airports to flights from the New Order. We demanded an explanation, and unless a satisfactory explanation is given within two (NS)hours a state of war will exist between our countries,

Actions SIC
Although the airports had been closed thankfully the first 158 had made it threw. The plan was originally to move half a corps per day, but as that was no longer going to cut it the rate of aircraft leaving the New Order more than doubled, and in addition to A440s, fighter aircraft and tankers were also ordered to precede. If any of them were turned away the “investigators” that had arrived would simply have to clear the runways themselves.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM RED TIDE GOVERMENT
"If the goverment of Corbournne does not want the New Order to investigate their elections, then that is that. With the permission of the Corbournne Goverment, we wish to deploy the 4th Dreadnought Battlegroup to their waters to protect them from any unwarranted and unprovoked aggression from the New Order."
End Message

OOC: You do realize that if you try to land without clearance, your likely to run into another aircraft that is landing or taking off?
Corbournne

Red Tide: Your battlegroup is more than welcome to help aid us.

New Order: The passengers of the plane that made it through (if they are indeed military personnel) will be asked to surrender their arms and board the next available flight to New Order. If they refuse to comply, the airport will be sealed off and military forces sent in.

And in response to an earlier point you made, we would allow you to investigate the election, but sending your army is hardly "investigating."

Honako urges The New Market Order to accept the results of the election as fair. We feel war is totally unnecessary and plain stupid in this situation, and will support Corbournne if any military action is taken.

It hardly matters weather the people arriving in the A440s are military or not considering that the New Order does not have a military.(((we do have a Ministry of Peace))) The fact is all people that the New Order has sent to Corbournne are qualified to review election results. Also there is no need for the New Order’s citizens to surrender any “weapons” that may be in there possession as almost anything, including toothpicks, could be considered weapons.

Also the Corbournne has not yet allowed the New Order’s additional aircraft to land. There are now ten minutes before the time on the demand for resumption of flights expires.

Aircraft waiting to land
40 A440s, with more almost there

Anything that is built to be a weapon will be confiscated. Corbournne would like to state that there is no need for more than one plane of investigators, and the other planes will not be given clearance to land. The government will compensate the plane companies for any loss of profit.

The Dreadnought Battlegroup left port without much fanfare, without any fanfare actually... the Red Tide Military was not a very sentimental one.

OOC: Here is what I am sending:

1 Raven-Class SuperDreadnought
1 Tsunamis-Class Supercarrier
2 Bluebird Guided Missile Cruisers
5 G(un)-Battleships
5 M(issile)-Battleships
12 Tidal Wave-Class Guided Missile Destroyers
24 Mockingbird-Class Frigates
12 TC-2C Anti-Submarine Warfare Helicopters
55 H/K-1 VTOL Surface Attack Aircraft
65 H/K-2 VTOL Fighter Craft
Assorted Supply Ships

The New Order does not deem the Corbournne response acceptable, the aircraft are almost out of fuel and unless they land they will crash most likely into Corbournne government buildings. It would be recommended that you allow them to land immediately. In addition the aircraft contain a large number of tourists, and the New Orders voters will be displeased if you do not allow the aircraft to land.
(((Two minutes left)))

SIC
The ‘investigators’ loaded there firearms and prepared to storm the airport.

The airport will begin to be evacuated as well as the government buildings. We would like to point out that the New Order would only be proving Corbournne's point that (most) capitalist nations are evil and corrupt if they pull a "9/11." Also, you would probably lose most of the allies you have. (if you have any)

SIC: 15,000 Corbournnian National Guardsmen are ordered from the Military Base in the capital. They are to be deployed in a scattered formation at strategic points outside the airport. Accompanying them are 350 Panzer Vs and 150 King Tiger IIs.

Official Statement from the Honako Commission

After checking up on The New Market Order in light of this 'conflict' we have noticed that in other elections they have offered, and most probably given, money to their party of choice - it seems they are happy with corrupting and tampering elections yet they accuse Corbournne of doing so - because it didn't come out the way they wanted it too. We suggest TNMO send their unarmed investigated, find whatever evidence they can to prove this was a tampering (of which we are sure there is none), leave and stop meddling with other nations internal affairs.
