Seeking a war (OOC)

Generic empire

After a bunch of failed RPs, it seems most of the people I used to roleplay with don't have the time to do it anymore. The combination of boredom and the desire to continue doing NS therefore drives me to look to others for my entertainment.

To keep it brief, I'm looking to fight a war, with one or more nations of comparable size and strength to my own, or at least with the balls to stand up to a larger nation. The grounds for the conflict can be worked out once I have an idea of who's interested, and right now the most important thing is finding a nation, or several nations who have the time to commit to a war RP, and who are genuinely interested in seeing it through.

Make no mistake, this would be a full-on military conflict, not a cold war or a "spec-ops RP." It's not my intention to plan the final outcome, but I'm open to working out smaller details, at least for the opening stages.

Those are my general thoughts. If you're interested, post here and we'll work things out.

I might get involved to render assistance to either side, but since I havent figured out my own military yet I dont think I'd be a good main target, as it were.

Hmmm.... well if you want a war I think I might inovlved as long as I am still allowed to rp after you occupy my MT nation.;)

I'll RP. One thing-I think we should make maps of our countries. Too many times have I seen this:

Player 1-I land my Royal Marines on your eastern beaches.
Player 2-I dont have beaches.
Player 1-Oh.

I think it should be mandatory to draw maps and show where divisions are stationed for reference.

Glad to see some people are interested.

To DGNT: That's fine. We can figure out how you're involved as we go along, if you're interested.

Great Britian: You're nation's tiny, but you could tack yourself alongside anyone else who's interested in fighting me, or align yourself with my nation. Whatever floats your boat.

Scandinvans: Heh, depends on how afraid you are to show your face after that happens. ;)

Theoropia: Same as what I said to Great Britian. Also, I already have a pretty elaborate map of the CAD continent, on which my nation is located, so that won't be an issue.

Now that some people are interested, we can hammer out some details, like a good casus belli. Contact me over AIM or MSN if you can. If you can't, TG me and we'll work from there.

D'joo vant sheep tanks, comrade? Ve haff maaany sheep tanks.
:P

On a more serious note, DGNT does, in fact, abound in outdated military hardware, a product of the old Russian/Soviet motto of 'never, ever, ever, throw anything away.'
We could arrange high altitude drops of T-55's on your enemies, if you like :D

Yeah, I'd love to nuke your nation to dust (MUHAHAHAHAHA) but I'd need to know where to nuke, so, a map, maybe? Telegram me:)

That would be good, see who else is intrested before i "tack" myself to anything =D

As I already said in a telegram, absolutely interested. If you have any particular policies that are odd, or feel like fighting over an uninhabitated country in the middle of the ocean, just say the word.

I already have a map of my nation.... But its a text map lol.
The Void is an archipelago made of 5 islands.

The Void: Desert island. Biggest island. Contains the capital city of Brailis and the system Command center.
Pearl: Named after Pearl harbor, its is Void's largest port and also stations the Flagship, the Ferdelance, so expect resistance.
Jasriah: Most populated island.
Armageddon: Contains Void's thermonuclear warheads.
Hali: Currently occupied by Rebels.

And heres most of my units! My special SPECIAL unit isn't on there ;)

Pistol with mounted bayonet? So...a pistol and a knife?
Generic empire

I was thinking a possible cause for war could involve a group of someone's citizens attempting to settle on the Generian portion of a landmass removed from my mainland. The generian government would forcibly remove them, precipitating an international incident, and thus providing a cause for war. From there, the other nations would fall into place alongside the main aggressor nation or my own.

The continent I'm referring to is introduced here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=518153

Skim the first couple posts if you feel like it.

Yeah, not the best but you can stab someone then blast em away so its useful.

I am interested...Also, bayonet were not that handy in WWI and WWII...In WWI, many soldiers would use spades instead of their bayonets because...

Spades can clever a head off the neck...

Bayonets would get stuck in the body of the opponent...

Can I join? My nation is in civil war, or is on a collision course with it rather. Any way...my army is quite large and may be able to put up a good fight.

...spades? I must be shopping at the wrong DIY store, because try as I might I haven't found a single spade that is capable of doing what a lot of swords can't and DECAPITATING SOMEONE. The bayonet point is true to an extent, but I have to question your acuity in believing spades are capable of chopping through a man's neck.

Yes but bayonets are pointy i like pointy :D no its cause you cut cut throats with bayonets, its much smaller than a shovel too. they are for specops:rolleyes:

"Can a shovel decapitate a man?" is a question, implying that the issue is up in the air. Unless said man had tissue-thin skin and bones like Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable, it could not.

To answer all of your questions...

And where exactly did you source this infomation from?
World War I. The a common one is when the German Army would use it to flush out the French...

Uhhh...No

Spades are also more dangerous...Not just 1 sharp point, but the whole spade can be a melee...

You should know this...Spade can be swung from different angles, yet for a bayonet to work you have to stab the point into the man...If the bayonet reaches it mark and gets someone in the chest, then the one using the bayonet must use extra force in order to pull the bayonet out of the man...

Spades can hit a man from the flat part of the spade...they can be used to stab a man...they can be used by the edge to create a gash...

Spades are much more versatile then bayonets and much more effective...I rest my case...

Yes, but the men with the bayonet-guns are meant to be SpecOp soldiers. I think carrying a shovel about would limit their effectiveness.

Let me make this really simple - unless you physically sharpen the edge of a spade to the point where it could be a fucking axe, it cannot decapitate a person. Knock them unconscious maybe, cut them a little, but decapitation - lol no.

Ok, yes I agree with you there...But I believe the rest of my "points" *haha, no pun intended...* stand firm...

Alright, so as it stands the war (in whatever form it will take) will involve in addition to myself: The Great Britian, Theoropia, McPsychoville, the Scandinvans, Dontgonearthere, and Undbagarten. If these nations are still interested, confirm with a TG.

I don't know alot of the younger nations in this list, so I expect you all know how to RP and won't techwank or godmod or do anything terribly n00bish. I also expect you're all MT.

I mean really: this is what you wanted

-"One or more nations with COMPARATIVE size and STRENGTH of my own, or at least with the balls to stand up to a larger nation."

The Great Britian, Theoropia, McPsychoville, the Scandinvans, Dontgonearthere, and Undbagarten.

In this list I find 2 March 2007 nations...

And I asked to join before one of the members...

And on top of the 6 PEOPLE, there is you. That would make it 7 people. This is now an uneven and unfair number. One side is going to be 1 man less....

I'm not going to ask to come in. ;)

Just kidding. Not really interested in a war, just interested to see what ever happens, judging that I do have a stake in Generian affairs, after all. Planning military maneuvers near Buchiana soon, though.
