The skies were a light shade of red as th sun set beyond the horizon. This calm scene was the only one present as Londim embraced a new ideology. After many of the poor decisions made by previous governments much of the population had voted in a shocking way...

General Election 2007

Results:

The Communist Party = 56%
The Socialist Freedom Party = 20%
The Conservative Party = 18%
Other = 6%

Today The Former Democratic Republic Of Londim was now The Communist State of Londim. Political commentators were unsure how this radical change had come about so quickly but now life in Londim was going to be very different. Premier Huyt took to the podium as he made his first addresse to the world as leader of Londim:

" Hello nations of the world. I am Premier Huyt and new leader of The Communist State of Londim. Some of you may be confused by this name as you are familiar to The Democratic Republic of Londim. Well as you can see this has changed. Wehope our nations old allies do not leave us due to this change and for those who oppose Communism so be it. We are not intimidated by your threats to wipe us and this ideology out. Many of you think of the former USSR which was a failed attempt at Communism. We are different to that.

I invite all leaders of the world to send me any questions they would like answered which I will answer as best as I can. For Londim, For the People!"

With that Premier Huyt left the podium to a standing ovation...

Dear Comrade Premier Huyt,

We in Wagdog, and I myself most of all, officially apologize for any mischaracterizations we may have made against Londim and its people under the old order. Diplomatic crises have a logic of their own, often a cruel one, and can force denunciations and posturing out of sheer reflex.
We applaud our revolutionary comrades in Londim for their decision to take the next step in their history and their material advancement to prosperity and freedom. If they need any help regarding questions such as the proper balance between liberty and security in a socialist state ever under the abstract threat of counterrevolutionary attack, or the proper role of opposition parties in loyally building Socialism, or even what basis the means of production are to function upon under Proletarian control, we ask that they feel free to ask for our help at any time. It shall be offered in the true spirit of all good socialists everywhere, one to another.

His Majesty's government shows concern for this election which in the United Kingdom's view was not democratic. In the fight against the global tirade of socialism and communism this election is deeply worrying.

We hope that the people of Londim are happy with their new loss in personal and economic freedoms. The presumption that Londim will now become a one party state like other communist nations is a great concern to His Majesty's government.
