OOC: This is the thread showing the fall of the RSFSR. All Commie-Haters are welcome to post here about what their countries are doing about it.

IC: The Union of the Russias' Forces have recently begun to duke it out in Grozny. Red forces have been taking the punches from their dug in positions well and have so far fended off two assaults by the UR forces. Across the country, the city of Nizhny Novgogrod was bombed by UR Tu-22's and 122's, destroying a large Red Tank force.

Response tt the Americans

From the Blue Army

We will accept weaponry if you can figure out a way to ship it to the Caucasus, the only region that we have somewhat of a grip on. If we need military assisstance, we will send you a signal.

Meanwhile...

Pinsk, Belarus

Red Army forces assaulted Pinsk earlier today forcing the Blue Army out of the city. The air base was also taken but the aircraft had already been moved to the Caucasus. Blue Army forces have pushed the Red Army out of Riga and into the Baltic where the Reds were forced to capitulate.

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT STATEMENT

The United Arab Socialist Republic refuses to recognize the rebels who have ousted their rightful governors. If, after there is some sort of peace agreement, a legitimate referendum confirming this "Union of the Russias" as the proper government of Russia, then, and only then, shall they be recognized. In the mean time, Ambassador Haroun Abi Maymun ar-Rashidi shall be departing Moskva for Minsk, where the proper government resides.
Anyone intervening in Russia's affairs in any manner at all shall suffer a UASR embargo until they choose to start minding their own business again.

A blue Naval Squadron has engaged a Red Navy squadron on the Baltic. The Blue Naval forces, flagshipped by the Admiral Ushkenov, detsroyed the Red flotilla aside from a Kirov-Class battlecruiser which was boarded and captured by marines. The fight for Grozny and Nizhny Novgorod continues with Urban warfare intensifying.

OOC: This is the first "International" incident I'll have ever been involved in, so bare with me...it is a Capitalist Nation, yet has no problem with trading with Socialistic, or Communistic Nations (So long as they are willing). So this is just an opprotunity I couldn't refuse. When I say "Sizeable force" I mean a Division or two. I'm not going to dispatch 123492308523742908 aircraft and soldiers that'll be there in a week.

IC:

Life President Odorus Urungus folded his hands across his lap, his lips pursed in thought, his eyes shooting daggers at the cohort standing at his advisor standing before him, across the mahogany table, shined to a high gloss. The thin-framed fellow locked up, handing Urungus a crisp paper, warm still, fresh from the printer. He unfolded the document, giving it no more than a casual glance.

"This is it?" the paper crumpled some as his hand tightened, "This is why you bother me?"

"Mr. Urungus," the advisor swallowed, he was young, the newest Advisor, the least among them. "I sense an opprotunity in this uprising...we could further our boundries, at least diplomatically, maybe even militarily..."

The President sighed doubtfully, but gave it a second run through, an eyebrow arched high, crinkling his forehead in lines of thought. "Go fetch Flattus Maximus and General Ballsac. Now."

Although Urungus could care less about some Communist regime. At times he admired the principals, and was more than wary of rebellion, considering he put down his own thralls in one a few years back...there was indeed, an opprotunity.

SIC: News of the RSFSR's sent shock waves throughout the Kiwiland leadership. Generations of Kiwians have grown up doctrinated about fighting the Communist state to the West, and seing that giant fall is drastic restructuring of their world. Not a few thought it'll be a good chance to seize all of Russia for Kiwiland.

But the Cold War mentality no longer prevailed like it used to even a decade ago. In an emergency meeting at Hakodate, the Sovereigns and Great Officers of State argued not for war but for peace.

"This new government asked us to help," Suida Toshima argued, citing the note that Kiwiland General Uesugi recieved while overseas in Gerogia. "This is a clear indication that we will now be able to coexist in peace."

Rola Kernesev, the Minister of Trade and Commerce, disagreed vehemently. "Peace? How could there be peace when half of our rightful homeland is occupied by them? We should immediately invade and..."

"Stop it," Tsar Alexander IV cut her off. Everyone looked around it surprise. "Making war on a people seeking to shake off their shackles goes against everything we stand for." Besides, he didn't say, the population will never stomach a large scale land war anymore.

Outbursts flared up here and there, but ultimately it was a forgone deicsion. When requests for support came earlier, afterall, the government had approved a war plan designed to help remove the communist state. A vote was taken, and Kiwiland resoved to achieve permanent peace with Russia.

Kiwiland Public Statement

Kiwiland wishes to extend diplomatic recognition to the Union of Russias. We will furthermore intervene on behalf of the Free Russian forces against the oppresive Communists regime, which Kiwiland has never recognised.

The entire Kiwiland Land Force has been mobilised. The Siberian units, led by the Second Vladivostok Division and Eighth Kemerovo Division will shortly cross into former RSFSR territories, as per the request of the Russian people. They will fight under Russian revolutionary forces in the hopes of stabilising the nation as quickly as possible. Several other divisions will follow them, including borth Imperial Gurard Divisions, the Third Kyoto Division, Seventh Nagoya Division and Tenth Kobe Division. General Yoshiteru Shimadu is commander of the Russian Task Force.

Once the revolution is completed, we hope that delegates from both our nations can meet at a third party's place in hopes of resolving potential conflicts between us, and establish permanent, lasting peace.

Kiwiland SIC Message to The Union of The Russias

We are confident that RSFSR will fall, and let us all drink a toast to that. A short while ago you asked for assisstance during this period, and we shall now answer that call. Therefore please do not be alarmed by our troop movements; they are but mere guests on your land.

With the establishment of the new government, we hope to see a new page of peace and prosperity in our relationships. Therefore let us be blunt and present to you our proposals:

1. Kiwiland recognises the Union of the Russias as the legitimate ruling entity of European Russia
-> In return we wish to see the Romanov Monarchy recognised as sole legitimate rulers of the Far East
2. Kiwiland will abandon all claims to the Urals Federal District
3. Kiwiland will demilitarise the Siberian Federal District with exception of token recruiting and training grounds in Kemerevo, Chita and Irkutsk
-> In return we hope that Russia will be amenable to exporting advanced weaponry to us
4. Kiwiland will cede Administrative Authority over Krasnoyarsk Krai to the Union of the Russias
-> In return we wish to receive Russian commitment guaraunteeing our continuing control of all mines, oil and natural gas reserves
5. Kiwiland will make Khakassia and Buryatia international regions under joint Russian-Kiwiland administration but with Kiwiland retaining taxation rights
-> In return we request the establishment of a free corridor in Siberia facilitating our access to the Middle East
6. Kiwiland renounces the use of force to settle remaining territorial disptues within Siberia

The Han Empire urges caution upon the forces of Kiwiland - whereas we have not received any testament to the Russian desires for intervention by any foreign power - least of all of Kiwiland, with their existing tensions. Let the Russians declare their desires and make it clearly known their desires for your forces. Otherwise, we will perceive it as unwarranted intrusion into Russian affairs.

Kiwiland Reply to The Han Empire

We assure the Great Han Empire that invitations have been issued. In fact Kiwiland is, to the best of our knowledge, the only country with which the current revolutionaries shared their plans with, although this of course was done through a secret exchange. The truth is that cooperation between us and the rest of our Russian kins have often occurred in the past despite extreme tensions on the surface, and we wish nothing more than to assist them in their valiant struggles. Of course, there are always appearances to maintain, which is why this message is encoded.

Minsk and the surrounding area has been turned into a superfortress by the Red Army. It is the nerve center for the entire Red Armed Forces and is protected by an interlinked SAM and AAA network along with heavy fortifications and artillery support. More and more tanks and soldiers of the Red Army have been sent into Minsk to bolster the defense. The Blue Navy has launched two cruise missile attacks on Minsk so far, both of which were unsuccessful due to the air defense network. Blue Army Generals fear that there is no other choice to take Minsk than a full scale land attack.

The Kiwiland Siberian Task Force raced towards Surgut behind an armoured spearhead composed of the Third Kyoto Division. Behind the Third Division follows 4 more Mechanised Divisions, and together they literally formed a rolling storm of steel. The massive West Siberian Plains provided the most ideal grounds for the United Empire's tracked units, allowing them to move at lightening speeds. At this rate they will close in on the outskirts of Surgut in no time, which General Shimadu plans to storm before the enemy realises they are right on their doorsteps.

After that, they'll swing north towards Nadym and Novyy Urengoy...

To Blue Russia,

We applaud your efforts in Russia, and the war between the communist regime and free peoples. We are against communism because we believe in free trade and free people. As you have rejected military aid time and time again by other nations, we believe that it shall be no different with us. However, once the war is over, and you are successful, there will still be sparse remains of the Red Army, small militias, if nothing else, across all of Russia who still believe in communism. However misguided they may be, they must be eradicated, since if several militias are left alone, they could potentially set up a secret rebellious communist state inside Russia and create yet another civil war. Thus, if you request us to, once the war is over, we can wipe out the small militias which may include tanks, artillery, and infantry, with squadrons of our JAS-39 Gripens. They are well trained, and provide excellent air-to-ground capabilities. As we observe, the fight for Minsk might be a bloody one, and for us to take care of these small militias can ease the post-war tensions in Russia and take care of those commies.

To summarize, we are all for a free, "Blue" Russia, and wait for your response.

As his forces approached Surgut, General Shimadu ordered the Aviation brigades ahead to scout out the city's defences. Although he doesn't think that much more than some stranded infantry units would be occupying the city anyway, it would be pure stupidity to not prepare with even a half-hearted effort.

In 20 groups of 50, the Kiwiland Apaches flew off in a wide arc. They would of course try to steer clear of anything potentially dangerous, and are under orders to pull back at the first sighting of enemy forces. A fleet of transports flying support missions over the Ural River Valley were attacked by Blue Russian MiG-31's. Three planes, two An-124's and one massive An-225 were shot down and crashed in the valley, creating three large half mile long trenches in the soft earth. The Red Army, obviously knowing of something important on the planes, sweeped in from central Russia and other Siberian positions. Likewise, the Blue Russians have dispatched thier forces to retrieve the cargo on board. An air battle has already begun to gain air superiority over the crash site.

Taking the cue, all Kiwiland Apaches backed off, but the missiles and AA fire smashed their way into the closest group. 5 were blown away in an instant, seeing which the other 15 Apaches in the group turned in anger. Rather than fleeing as was intended, they unleashed their rocket pods on the Russian positions.

Following their example, more than 100 Apaches from the retreating groups closed in and began the engagement. The hellstorm of missiles they unleashed would undoubtedly destroy any Red installations, but not before another 4 Apaches crash landed inside the city.

The Reds cheered at the loss of the Apache helicopters, but were thrown back into the moment when the other Apaches and Su-25s went on the attack. A Blue Army tank company with support from an infantry battalion and a wing of Mi-28's and Mi-24's began to move into the city on the main highway. The Blue Russian Commander called for the Kiwiland ground forces to follow suit and hit the city from the East side.

Answering the Blue Russian call, 1st Brigade, 3rd Kyoto Division led an assault into the Eastern side of the city, followed by 4th Brigade, 8th Kemerevo Division. Hundreds of vehicles swarmed the streets, piling towards the city centre.

Far behind them, 2 divisions of mechanised and armoured brigades began securing the perimeter. Meanwhile, all 5 artillery brigades stands ready, prepared to strike back the instant any artillery fire rained down on Kiwiland or Blue Russian forces.

Red Artillery positions opened up, firing at both Blue and Kiwi forces. The Su-25s made a run at th artillery, destroying about an eigth of them with the loss of one of their planes. Red soldiers garrisoned in the first buildings of the Blue assault began firing at the oncoming forces. with Kornet missile launchers and RPGs. Three Mi-28s fired off High Explosive ATGMs at the buildings, blowing the outward face clean off.

(OOC: i am assuming volume of fire is low because you said battalions)

Kiwiland forces were just about to stop and fortify their positions when the artillery rained down on them. Luckily for them enemy forces were clearly less than sizeable, but nonetheless, a chunk in the middle of the Kiwiland line was torn apart like a passing tornado. Only 11 tanks and 19 IFVs suffered direct hits, but artillery shells didn't need to hit to be deadly. Those hit had no chance of survival, but everywhere around them lies casualities from shrapnels. Needing to tend to their wounded, all units fell back a little to regroup.

Receiving the news almost instantaneously in the base camp outside the city, General Shimadu ordered a counter artillery fire. Even before his orders came through, every artillery unit attached to the 5 divisions began to prepare to fire, tracing the ballistic path of the incoming shells. In mere seconds the onboard computers have narrowed down the possible locations of the Reds, and in still a couple more coordinated their targets with each other. When the firing began, every Red artillery unit would be covered in a firestorm from hell.

Even if the Red units ran after they fired, with so much fire power at their disposal, Kiwiland artillery is covering such a large area that it is near impossible for them to flee fast enough. And if there are additional units waiting nearby...

Only half of the guns and artilleries fire though.

The MLRS systems struck first. Within a minute a total of 4,320 rockets flew off towards Surgut, followed by a cloud of 2,890 155mm shells launched from 480 Type 99 Howitzers.

The second half of Kiwiland artillery units waited patiently. Once the dusts died down, there would be time to see whether a second strike is needed.

Surgut was pounded by the artillery and rockets. The Red artillery was destroyed and the communist soldiers ran back into their fortifications. The Blue Ground forces moved into the city and the bloody door-to-door urban war began. While the regulars and their armor support moved in on the roads, a few Mi-17's hovered above key buildings while Spetsnaz infiltration teams rapelled down and assaulted the garrisoned troops from above. The Blue armor moved into the city and began blowing apart heavily garrisoned structures with their 2S7M 203mm SPA's.

With the threat of artillery strikes gone, Kiwiland forces renewed their attacks. Riding in armoured vehicles, the soldiers would break into silent buildings while the tanks demolish anywhere that Red soldiers are firing from. Whenever they reached a fortified position or a concentrated area, artillery strikes are called in to eradicate anything in their path. Rather than the rapid movements seen up to now, the soldiers slowly and cautiously made sure no Red soldier escaped unnoticed.

With most of Surgut taken, what was left of the Red Army there took off towards Nadym. A horde of Su-25s, Mi-24s, Mi-28s, and Mi-17s followed them laying down a hail of bullets until it was no longer safe for the aircraft to do so.

Upon hearing that the cowardly Red forces have fled the battlefield, General Shimadu directed his attack helicopters to give chase. The Apaches led the effort, closing ground rapidly until they were able to fire off massive volleys of rockets into the disorganised Red lines.

With Surgut liberated, the rest of the Kiwi land force began their marh towards Nadym, the next target on the list.

OOC: I have to finish this up so I can reenter the world stage.

IC: After many decisive wins in the West of the RSFSR, Blue Army Command was ready for a strike on the Red Stronghold at Minsk, Belarussian SFSR. Blue 203mm Artillery and MRLS vehicles launched their salvos at the Red front lines to destroy defenses there. Five Blue Armored divisions, seven Infantry divisions, 3 mechanised divisions, a Spetsnaz brigade, numerous fighter wings, transport wings, and attack helicopter squadrons moved in for the final assault on Minsk and the end of the Civil War.

Congragulations on your victory. We would like to bring up our initial propositions again, hopefully as the start of a permanent peace settlement between you and us.

A Line, Fortress Minsk, Belarussian SFSR

The 203mm artillery had punched a hole in the first line of defense, allowing a steady stream of Blue Army Tanks to move in. The Reds put up heavy resistance and ground was taken at a pace of about two meters and hour if it was good going for the Blues. The AA defenses in the area had yet to be taken down so air support was unavailable for the Blue Ground Forces.

"Push forward!" yelled the tank commander of the Blue Army to all of the other soldiers pushing into Minsk. They had already been routed six times, and he didn't want to have to deal with a seventh. The huge line of tanks continued firing at the Red defenders. Little did they know, their final break was flying right overhead.

32,000ft above the Blue tank line.

The Blue Russian aircraft flew high overhead the city, about to frop their cargo behind enemy lines. Inside the ten planes was a group of Spetsnaz volunteers that would jump down and attempt to sabatage the Red air defense.

"All troops, prepare for HALO jump." said the Colonel leading the mission.

The Spetsnaz troops checked their equipment and waited for the green light. After three more minutes, it came up.

"Go! Go!" yelled the Colonel as the Spetsnaz troops paradropped out of the planes. They dove straight down towards the first main air defense line.

C-Line, Fortress Minsk, Belarus SFSR

The Spetsnaz troops landed on the ground safely and unseen. They began to move along to the Triple-A and SAM positions and started planting charges. After close to three hours of secret work, the charges were set. "Blow it!" shouted the Colonel. The charges were blown, ripping a massive net in the Fortress' AA defenses. Almost immediately, Blue Air Force Su-25's and MiG 29's flew in dropping bombs all over the Reds' positions. The tank force moved in and destroyed the Red Defenders on A and B Lines. The Rest of the AA moved back into central Minsk and prepared for the final Blue assault on the city.
