Detusva Student Protests Ignite Civil-War against Strongman
Detusva is a small five milion strong nation that is ruled by an extremely powerful dictator by the name of Mushareff Asala. Being a landlocked nation, Detusva is full of gold, minerals, oil, and natural gas however being with such rich resource has not resulted in the populace being wealthy on any stretch of the imagination and on U.N estimates, the populace of Detusva receive less than 40 dollars a month to survive at times unless they are living in the capital of Ismarimway where it spikes to 70 dollars a month for an average citizen and 400 dollars a month for the average soldier and bureacrat. Along with six ethnic and tribal groups in the national borders of Detusva, with the second largest the Amilada with 1.2 million people being the most priviledged because Mushareff Asala resides from one of the remotests Amilada villages in southern Detusva that tensions have begun to rise on a traditional, cultural, ethnic, urban-rural, and educational wise background but all mostly related to Asala strongman kind of hold on power where he uses his 60,000 strong army and 15,000 strong police force to combat even the slightest urge to demonstrate or rebell against Mushareff Asala's rule.
Ismarimway, Detusva:
Imai Hutchkens and Deai Huseein and Remar Huseein walked calmly through he only university campus in Ismarimway and one of ownly two in the nation of Detusva. The three young men aged 19 to 23 were heading to the student area where they and 20 other male and female students were going to protest the ten percent yearly increase in student fees for the yearly semester. As they headed into the student area, there was already 40 students and 6 teachers from several different backgrounds protesting peacefully and holding up signs saying they want a freeze on student fees. The protest was no where near anyone else, not blocking anyone's way and was not an attempt to destabilize Asala's rule.
However, already six police cars carrying fifteen police officers and another four military transports carrying an additional 50 soldiers had arrived and had blocked off the student area just as Deai and Remar Huseein walked into the student area. Imai Hutchkens had been talking to his university sweetheart and tying his shoes and therefore could not get into the student area. As he and his girlfriend were trying to find a way in behind police and troop lines they heard pop .... pop ... pop ... pop ...
They as well as most of the students near them, along with students and teachers in the student area ducked for cover as the troops opened fire on the occupants of the student area with live ammunition. For five minutes the fifty soldiers fired nearly 1,200 rounds of ammunition at student protestors and teachers. Remar Huseein was shot twice in the left arm and three times in the back resulting in him being badly injuried and being (paralyzed). He was lucky as four students and one teacher were killed by the soldiers barrage of bullets and in addition to Remar another 14 students and 2 teachers were wounded.
Detusva National News:
Today in the Ismarimway National University protestors demanding the resignation of our beloved leader, Mushareff Asala staged a protest in the student area. Police and military units were called to the scene when the students and teachers began chasing and beating Asala student and civilian supporters, badly injuring three. They then turned their sights on our beloved national troops and from early reports indicate that the troopers had to open fire on these protestors leaving 5 dead and 16 wounded. Another 10 students and teachers including three ringleaders of the protest were arrested following the violent outbreak and the university campus is closed for the next two weeks to ensure no more protests or student activism of this nature occurs and causes trouble in this democratically peaceful nation of Detusva
Official Statement from the Honako Commission
Information gathering and news reports have brought Mushareff Asala horrific dictatorship to our attention. We are by no means a democracy and would not enforce our views in other nations - but the attacks and oppressiveness of your nation has not gone unnoticed. We applaud all the protests against Asala’s rule and policies and strongly condemn any mass murders committed by this corrupt 'government'.
For now we will assist your nation by diplomatically supporting, and aiding if needed, any peaceful opposition to this tyrant.

Imari Ab-Dul and his two younger brothers stood by their house with semi-automatic weapons as they waited for the signal. They were in a village about 48 miles north of the capital and their father and four other village elders had been arrested and charged with sedition against the government of Detusva and therefore, if convicted by a military general, the five would be put to death by hanging. However, Imari and about two dozen young Bayil youth along with Amilada youth in the village were preparing to attack the police and military headquarters in the village and free the five elders of their village.
Imari saw the signal from an older youth up the street and nodding to his two younger brothers he rushed out of his doorway and down the street to another house just across from the police station. Imari and his youngest brother Yuf breathed heavily as several shots were fired from other youth and police officers in the center of the village and a grenade was tossed at the police station exploding nearly five feet from its entrance. Imari then got out from behind the house's wall and fired about a good six shots at the police station striking a soldier in the shoulder and stomach before hiding behind the wall again.
The violent shootout continued and a young woman in her hut was shot and killed in the exchange of fire. Four young men broke into the back of the police station and killed the young Amilada guard stationed watching the five elders and using their Ak-47s they were able to shoot the lock and free the five elders. About an hour later the remaining soldiers and police officers surrendered their weaponry to the youths, having the village fall into full control in the youth's hands.
In the battle, 4 police officers, and 2 civilians were killed in the gunbattle while 5 police officers, 11 youth and 6 civilians were wounded and besides the five wounded police officers four soldiers and 7 police in total were captured.
To Mushareff Asala,

To the Nation of Detusva;
You foreshame our Muslim brothers with this violence that is occuring between the ethnic and religious communities in your nation. We believe that the deaths of the 11 people in your nation is enough and we feel that the President of this nation has to reform his nation or step aside for a new democratic force to step into Detusva. Until this nation's government is changed for the better of the people we will have no economic or political linkage with this vicious and corrupt regime and we will ask for other members of the international community to place an embargo on Detusva.

Any attempt by Dragonicale to use military force against Detusva will be met with decisive force on the part of the Tolvanic Military. We don't normally involve ourselves in such squabbles but we will not watch fledgling nations such as Destusva be bulled by thugs.

OFFICIAL IMPERIAL PROCLIMATION
FROM: Mr Larry Williams, Minister of Foreign Affairs
As someone who cares about the saftey of the civilians of the planet we must condemn the acts of the Government of Detusva. Not allowing your people the personal freedoms they need is what gets you into this situation that you are currently in.
You must grant more freedoms to your civilians or your nation will wind up in a full fledged civil war. And from the looks of it, your military isn't trained enough to take on even a few armed teenagers let alone hundreds, if not thousands of armed civilians.

The nation of Detusva would more than happily enter into trade and infrastructure developmental talks as we look for the best for our people. If you have a place to negotiate such development the great Mushareff Asala would attend personally.

On the outskirts of the capital of Imarinway there was a small ghetto of nearly 2,000 people that worked on several projects in the center of Detusva. However, frustration was rising with the men of this small ghetto as they hadn't been paid in nearly two weeks for their labour and likewise hadn't been able to pay for food, resulting in the death of a young infant girl. So now the food distribution center was guarded by police officers from the capital as the distribution workers were not to hand out food until they were paid the 10 dollars that were suppose to go back to the government to pay for providing food.
As a young policeofficer made his rounds a crack was heard and he collapsed holding his eye and screaming as several large men and youths ran past him to the entrance of the distribution center. As they ran they shot to death two distribution center civilians and one police officer before they entered the center and began to grab for food. As they were grabbing food, men designated for guard duty began to exchange gunfire with police and soldier backup.
After about ten minutes most of the 'guards' protecting the men who had entered the center to find food were either dead or wounded. As government troops entered the center men inside opened fire with machine guns and hunting rifles and fled to the back of the center where those that weren't dead escaped out a back entrance. As government troops got control of the center and detained 15 wounded gunmen, they were ordered to set fire to the ghetto.
The soldiers lit some stickes that had be placed near the distribution center and began tossing the lit stickes onto the rooves of nearvy shacks. As they did so, women, children and the elderly began to run out of their burning shacks, some with their hair on fire, some with their clothes on fire and several fully engulfed in flames, as well as others that couldn't escape the flames. In total nearly 100 houses in the ghetto were burned down displacing nearly 700 people.
In the attack itself on the distribution center; 11 rebels were killed and 15 wounded. As well as, 3 police officers killed along with 2 soldiers and 4 civilians while an additional 32 people were wounded. In the resulting fire, nearlt 80 people suffered smoke inhalation and needed hospitalization while another 63 had burns somewhere to their body while 23 civilians, mostly old or youth were killed in the fire that was unleashed by the troops.

Governmental Address to the People:
Today the government of Mushareff Asala would like to announce that there will be an increase in the national defence budget raising it from 1 billion dollars to 3.2 billion dollars and raising the military force from 60,000 to 115,000 over the next six months. However, some governmental economicists believe that this will get the nation deeper into debt as their national economy is struggling at best.
-------
In the village that had been occupied by the youths who had freed their elders there was a tense standoff. Government troops had arrived from a nearby base with 200 troops in all and were preparing to attack the village. About a good three dozen youths were in position along with about an additional 20 middle age adults with weaponry from the police and military HQ. Just outside the village, four of the captured soldiers had been released as a good aid, but if the military got to the village they would see the two captive police officers hung from lampposts as a sign of disrespect.
A government official emerged from the troops positioned to attack with tanks and APCs;
"You have four minutes to .... (crack)" the official collapsed holding his left arm as it bled heavily.
A lead tank fired a tank shell striking a house in the center of the village. Several other tanks opened up with 50 cal machine guns and more tank shells, hitting rebel and civilian positions as infantry troops went around behind to cut off any escape. Machine gun fire and light arm fire was exchanged between both sides and one of the APCs were hit by an explosive device and exploded into flames killing four of its six man crew and wounded the two that could escape.
Violence continued for the next hour until the government forces were able to reach the center of the village. In the battle, 28 rebels, 15 civilians and 9 soldiers were killed while 28 rebels were wounded and captured while an additional 63 other soldiers and civilians were wounded.
In about a week of violence just over 100 + people had been killed and nearly 750 wounded from the violence that had started as the University campus protest.

Having captured the only rebel stronghold in the nation of Detusva, the government was able to listen to the voice transmission from the nation of Silvado. Listening to the plan of attack on the nation of Detusva the government responded;
To Silvado;
From Detusva Foreign Ministry;
We have been able to record your message that you sent to the rebels, youth and old uneducated people, and with the capture of their stronghold and these rag-tag groups of people not wanting to topple the Asala government but ensure they get what little rights they have, most of these rag-tag groups have now been crushed. So you can send your expeditionary force if you want, however, since there is no or little rebellion left, you would be invading a sovereign nation and our government and our international allies will have to combat your thuggary and agression.

THIS IS A PEACEKEEPING FORCE
Detusva Foreign Ministry;
To the Kansiov National Government;
The national government of Detusva does not see a problem with sending a peacekeeping force to our nation. However we do believe that 30,000 is a bit steep in numbers and would like to negotiate between 5,000 and 10,000 from the nation of Kansiov. As well, we are concerned with the idea that Kansiov bombers are on the way to our national borders. We do not believe a peacekeeping mission needs bombers and therefore we do not want any entering our national sovereignty. However, if they are transport planes then we would be happy to allow them entrance.

We, as stated in our previous ignored statement, do not approve of your government but do not support the rebel’s way of killing to get their way, even if your countries leader is appalling in our books. There is no need to send a peacekeeping force and we feel it will not help things whatsoever - we ask for the international community to provide diplomatic 'pressure', such as various embargos on Detusva goods and trade we will be employing. We will continue to organise and help aid any peaceful opposition to your government, starting with hopeful plans for numerous nationwide protests against your insane rule.
