M1914 Trials, Salerno, New Roman Empire
The Army Leiutenant walked along the line of soldiers, looking at them with a stern face. Finally, he spoke.
"Listen up, men!" he shouted at them. "In front of you are Remington M1897 Trench guns. You are to load them full, unlock safety, and empty the gun accurately as fast as possible. Is this clear?"
"Clear, sir!" shouted his soldiers in response.
"Good. Begin...now!" the leiutenant shouted. The Italian soldiers ran up to the guns and began sliding in the shells, then pumping the slide. They clicked off safety and began firing. The loading took about ten seconds while the emptying of the seven rounds took close to 15 seconds. "Good." said the Leiutenant. "Now you are to do the same with the M1914 in front of you. Begin...now!" The soldiers ran up to the M1914s and loaded them up. They snapped the drum into place and began firing. The double-action on the gun allowed them to fire faster while still keeping a steady aim on their targets. The loading took 10 seconds while firing took 4 seconds. At the expense of slightly more weight and the trigger being a bit more stiff, the M1914 Frag-15 was a faster, more accurate gun.

Because he said it was property of his nation now.

Assuming you have just made a semi-automatic low-velocity grenade launcher with a seven round drum, I'd advise to get rid of the magazine. It's not very realistic for the time, and if anything the pull on the trigger would be made nasty by the weight of dragging the drum around with each shot.
The M79 GL of the Vietnam War was a single-shot weapon, and so is the M203 of today. Better, given that you're using a closer to rifle-sized calibre, that this be a single-shot bolt-action weapon.
Also, I'd expect something along the lines of a 500-750m range.
You, erm, do understand the meaning of "trench gun" correct? =/

It's a shotgun, not a GL.

My mistake. I don't often see shotgun cartridges measured in ZxZZmm format.

Yeah, the shell is between guages so I decided to make my own (Frag-15) in that format. For those of you wondering what guage it is, it is between 12 and 10.
