The Great Blue, appx. 78nm South/Southeast of Therfolymei Island
Captain Rorsch stood on the bridge of the Handfurt-Class Battlecruiser steaming its way South. It was the flagship of the naval squadron that was made up of the battlecruiser, one biplane frigate, three destroyers and a zepellin tendor with a large zepellin in tow. He peered out across the fog over the sea and suddenly, out of nowhere, an island was seen. He reached for the squadron-wide broadcast system and sent a message.
Attention Fleet. An island has been sighted at 11 O'clock. I want Marines on that zepellin and biplanes in the air. This Island needs to be reconed as soon as possible, so get a move on.
The marines climbed up the mast of the zepellin tendor and boarded the cab. Meanwhile, the four pilots and their copilots rushed their planes out of the hangars on the ship deck and started their engines. A few minutes later, the zepellin was on its way and the planes were lifting off the deck.

The Bohiti opened his eyes.
"What did you see, Bohiti Gamayo?" demanded the Cacique Coyotl.
"Cacique. There are several large piragua' coming towards the island," the old bohiti answered warily. "I envisioned large piragua' driven by the fires of Xocotl. There were flying beasts of obsidian coming from them. I know not of what they desire, however we should be prepared for the worst."
The Cacique turned to the Datijao and spoke, "My lord, you have heard the news of these arijua coming to our island. I ask that you allow me to send a group of Ao'n Warriors to scout the jungles and spy on the arijua. I do not trust these men of fire."
Datijao Baumenay thought for a moment and said, "Do so with trepidation, Coyotl. We must watch them without incurring their wraith. Send your ten best warriors and a Spirit Whisperer to accompany them. We must see what these people want.
"Yes Datijao."
The warriors flowed through the jungle like water. They were lithe and nimble, but do not confused agility with weakness. The Ao'n warriors were known for their fierce ambush tactics, excellent camouflage, and unwavering loyalty to their pack. They had special magic from their cadre's bohiti that enabled them to hide incredibly well in the jungle, as well as heightening their already keen senses. With them was their Spirit Whisperer, Anacaona. She was a powerful summoner, capable of calling upon the powers of their patron spirit, Ao'n the loyal dog. She was only there incase things got bad and they were attacked.
They made it to the northern part of the island within the hour and sat in separate bushes, watching and waiting for the arijua to arrive.

Unknown Island, The Great Blue
The biplanes flew in formation over the first beach of the island and the patch of sparse trees and grass that grew off of it. They decided it was safe for the zepellin to drop off its Marines on the beach. The zepellin dropped the ropes and the Marines slid down. The leader of the Marine, a leiutenant, removed his lever-action shotgun from his back holster and cocked a slug in the chamber. The other Marines unsheathed their scimitars and began moving into the open grassland.

Anacaona and her pack stared through the thicket of the rainforest, scattered to better cover the area. They studied the creatures and their strange technology while moving slowly through the canopy and the flora. To communicate, they did bird calls to each other, alerting them of the postions of the arijua.
They had weapons, Anacaona thought. These weapons however had never been seen by any X'atl eye, although she could tell that they were deadly and effective weapons. One had a strange weapon that had no blade. The arijua put a small metal cylinder into it can walked on. She was concerned about these men.
Her cry rang out through the forests. The others began to scatter more, forming a half circle in the forest to surround and ambush the enemy. Anacaona would need their support in case something were to happen to her.
She walked out in the open, laying her spear on the ground slowly and raising her hands in the air. She spoke softly to the arijuas.
"Do not be alarmed. I am not an enemy. Who are you?"

The Leiutenant was shocked to see a large birdlike creature appear from the forest. He shouldered his shotgun and shouted back to the creature.
"I am Leiutenant Arndt Schluass of the Weffei Confederation. We are reconnoiting this island for our ship Captain of our flotilla offshore." he said pointing back towards the gray blurs on the horizon.
Up in the air the biplanes swooped low over the clearing in a loud buzz.

She walked towards the men cautiously as her people stayed hidden, spears and bows ready to strike if deemed necessary. She approached him and took out a peace charm from her bag, giving it to the man clearly in charge.
Anacaona was taller than the men, about 7 feet tall. The men were much thicker than her kind as she was quite thin, somewhat bony in some ways. The human's skin was also very different, a pale peach colour and their hair was very thin and numerous but short. Her skin was a dark jungle green with dark feathers for hair down to her lower back. There were also two or three feathers on her shoulders and ankles, but other than those she was bare. While they had an abundance of clothing, she only had a torn cotton skirt and a covering for her breasts along with some jewelry and bohiti charms around her wrists and neck. The face was what intrigued her. They had huge protrusions from the middle of their face. Anacaona could not take her eyes off of this as her kind only had small pits on their face where the nose would normally be. The humans also had thicker lips than Ana's. Her kind had thin lips, the result of losing their beaks for a normal mouth.
Her lithe hand presented the charm and said, "Take. It is a peace charm from my tribe. I would like to welcome your people into our tribe."
Still puzzled, Anacaona asked, "Are the trees where you are from pale too?"

Leiutenant Schlauss took the charm and placed it around his neck. He was puzzled by this question and replied. "Well, there are a some trees with tan bark, but they all have green leaves. SOme do turn red and yellow during fall, though." he said. "How many of your kind are there on this island?"

Anacaona spoke. "There are many of us on this island." She motioned towards the east. "That way lies the River X'atl, master fishermen and piragua' craftsmen. To the center of the island lies the capital Muay Tak'x'tal, where we can take you if you wish." As she spoke, her arm waved into the air. The warriors crept from their hiding spots, standing tall around the men. Their spears lowered as they came to Anacaona
"We can take you though the safe way. I can guide you around the traps and dangers of the forest." Anacaona extended her hand out to the lieutenant.

The Leiutenant motioned for his men to sheath their scimitars and took the birds hand. "Let's go." he said as they walked into the forest.

Anacaona smiled and walked the lieutenant towards the outskirts of the rainforest on the coast. She stopped in fron of her warriors.
"These are teh Ao'n Warriors of my Muay Tak'x'tal," she pointed at the tattoo on her shoulder. It was a symbol of a dog along with some inscriptions. on it. "I am Anacaona of the Ao'n Warriors. I am their Spirit Whisperer." She motioned to the warriors. They nodded and darted off into the foliage, disappearing from sight.
Anacaona said, "They will be scouting for any enemies in the rainforest. There can be many dangers in the Ku'Guada. There are many booby traps and wild animals and demons there. And then there are the Jibaro." She shuddered when she spoke their name.
"Come, let us go to the capital. It is merely 10 miles away," Ana ran into the forest, but stayed in sight of the paleskins.

The Marines unsheathed their scimitars and the captain turned off the safety of his shotgun. The group began to move into the forest towards their capital city. The Zepellin was informed of this and began to lazily follow them above the treetops.

The sun was lowering as they reached the 5 mile checkpoint. The warriors had cleared the path ahead of booby traps and aside from a jaguar roaming around, no real threat was nearby.
Anacaona turn to the men and asked, "Shall we rest here or can you keep going?"

Ana smiled and nodded. She liked the bigger one. He had reminded her of her father way back in the day.
The sun was now covered with dark clouds as the forest was blanketed in rain. Ana had slowed down now that her senses were dulled by the rain. Ahead was a clearing, then there would be Muay Tak'x'tal.
Anacaona ran into the clearing, looking back at the men. Ahead of all of them in the distance was a massive step pyramid, glittered with gold and jade. The massive monument was surrounded by other houses and buildings made of stone and obsidian. Anacaona turned to the men.
"That is Muay Tak'xtal. The Golden Mountain. The large building is our Yacate, where the Datijao lives," she exclaimed.

"Would it be possible for us to meet your leader?" asked the Leiutenant. "Also, is there a field where we can land our airship?" he said, pointing up to the large zepellin floating above them.

Ana stared up into the sky, glaring at the flying beast. She turned to the Lieutenant and spoke, "We should alert the Guacamayo Cadre of this and inform them that we will be needing their airstrip. As for our leader, I shall take you to him momentarily. First, you have to meet our Cadre's leader."
Anacaona and her warriors led the men through the massive city. There were countless houses with many of these tall birdmen. Many of the females were outside of their front porches, grooming each other's head feathers and cleaning their bare skins. Little children ran around the roads, tackling each other and playing with a small rubber ball. As they walked by, the X'atl were all staring at the paleskins, focused on their strange garments and their minut size.
Ahead of them was a massive building of gold and obsidian, smaller and different from the central yacate but still very massive. The building was crawling with different warriors of different Cadres of the X'atl.
"That building is the Cadre Yacate. This is where we learn the twelve styles of our nation's warcraft. Every warrior trains in one sect of the warcraft and is fully dedicated in that art. We are of the Ao'n Cadre, masters of hunting and scouting," Ana led the men up the large golden steps to the inside. "You will be meeting with our Cacique before you can meet with the Datijao. Only the Caciques of the Cadres can meet with the Datijao. This way. Maxatl, send word to the Guacamayo Cadre to open up their airfield." The warrior nodded and darted down the opposite corridor.
They walked through the corridor of the building. From the outside, they could all see the different Cadres practising their dedicated craft. Yaguareté warriors were wrestling with each other, slamming others on the ground while other of the Yaguareté Cadre practiced swordsmanship and spearmanship. Some of the Boba sept practised their stealth technique and use of poisoned blades to slit their victims throats.
Finally, they made it to a large chamber with a large circle on the wall. The circle was divided into twelve sections, each on having an animal on it. A large X'atl walked up to the group of men. He had a wolf's head on his left shoulder and wolf fangs necklaced around his neck. A large wolf tattoo was on his musculare chest. The large warrior spoke.
"I am Cacique Coyotl of the Ao'n Cadre. Since we have found you, it will be our responsibility to interrogate you of your motives before you can meet our lord. Please, have a seat as we will be serving food soon," he motioned to a large golden dinner table, glittered with jewels and jade. The chairs were made from a special mahogany and they too were littered with gold and jade. "Make yourselves at home, arijua."
The Guacamayo Cadre cleared its airfields and sent a brightly coloured bird to the zepplin, with a message stating that they could land.

"I am Leiutenant Arndt Schauss of the Weffei Confederation. I have come here along with this platoon of Marines you see behind me, the Zepellin and its crew, and a flotilla of the Confederate Navy anchored offshore. We do not mean any harm or war to you and wish to survive together in peace."
