So, yeah, we were talking (Tocrowkia and I), and we agreed that it'd be nice to have an NS Vietnam war.
So, Toc will put up a puppet which will be RP as if it were in the millions, then we'll have the south goverment be attacked by northern communists (both RP'd by NSers), and nations will jump to support both sides (thus creating a proxy war, napalm'ing whole villages is a-ok).
However, Im looking at this conflict as a whole, so it should have political repercusions in your nation (Hippies and Police beating down said hippies included).

Neither. Kolvokia does not label itself with economic ideologies. Furthermore, this group isn't part of the Kolvokian government, and if anything, would probably rent out their services at extremely low prices to serve as protection for a village or group of villages that doesn't want to get caught in the middle.

Basically, its an open position for people who will not join the conflict (as in combat), but would like to RP in the thread, thus, they can join as media and report from the battlefields without actually fighting themselves.
That doesnt mean you cannont "accidentally" kill them if they write bad stuff about you :p

As I believe I already explained, in all probability they'll hire themselves out as protection to a village who decides they just want to be left alone. If that village happens to be the one of the ones BA's Roguis Agentis pick to wipe out, it's also possible they'll declare a Blood War (a war of vengeance) against whoever the Rogues frame.

Uh, 3rd world countries tend to have relatively huge populations for their size. The current numbers for this country are less than half the size of Vietnam in 1970.

And, the most palpable difference between the two wars is the media coverage. In Vietnam, you could turn on the tele and be subjected to a barrage of images: battles, firefights, bombings, oppressive jungles, atrocities, mounds of body bags. Now, when you see the television, all you see are press conferences, diagrams, maps, numbers, and the occasional tank moving placidly on a desert road.

For example, there isn't quite the same feeling of hopelessness.

What station do you watch and how the hell do they get away with it? They developed all kinds of rules about wartime reporting after Vietnam to prevent that kind of thing, the most well-known of which being the "no body bags/caskets may be recorded".
Maybe your referring to the watered-down footage we have to day: a soldier firing his weapon, with no target in sight, views of bombings through the black-and-white missile cam, etc...

Not the 52, they completely jacked the B-29 piece by piece. The Soviet workers even replicated bullet holes on the US planes they had.
