Captain Harvey, along with others, watched a demonstration of a prototype biplane flying overhead.

"Who's flying that sucker Mister..?" Harvey asked the man in spectacles on his left.

The man cleared his throat and responded "Coulton sir and thats Terry Mayes flying it." The small biplane did a few turning manuvers and then finally landed onto the small patch of grass.

The pilot, Terry Mayes, shook hands with Captain Harvey and the rest of the observers. The plane he was flying with was a plane called the "Alto 504". It only had one single seat and no gun armament. The only reason Captain Harvey was interested in the project was for the purposes of a scout plane for the Army. He wrote his report down for his surperiors at High Command in Dublin.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

As a result, Alto 504 production is aprroved and a small unit of 8 planes will be formed at the moment due to costs. The small unit shall be named"The Wooden Marrys" until a official title is approved.

OOC: The Alto 504 is based on the Avro 504 and the statistics are the same.

Orielle, Exavia

The roar of the engine drowned out all noise, and the biting cold made Lieutenant Timothy Hamilton shiver through his thick fur-lined overcoat. He gazed down on the open, rolling fields of Exavia, feeling like the king of the world in his Newport 10*. Beside him, a two-seater pusher biplane observed his aircraft. Hamilton saw the observer waving a small red flag at him, so he gave a thumbs-up and pushed the stick forward, aiming for the large hay bale on the ground, a sheet of canvas draped over the side with a large bull's-eye on it.

He was flying a modification of the trusty Newport, with the observer seat taken out and a pair of Vickers machine guns bolted onto his upper wing. Hamilton checked to make sure both belts of ammo were loaded securely, and then peered through the iron sights. The crosshairs lined up perfectly with the center of the target, and he squeezed the firing handle.

The Newport shook as the machine guns sprayed bullets at the haybale, nearly blasting it apart. Hamilton pulled out of the run just in time, his landing gear almost brushing the grass. He put the Newport down in the small airstrip a few miles away, and then hopped into a truck with a few other pilots and the base's CO. It bounced over the plains, stopping in front of Hamilton's target. "Nice run," Major Richards said, stroking his large mustache.

"Thank you, sir," Hamiltion replied, picking up the sheet of canvas. It was certainly more accurate than a moving gun on the two-seater, and the lighter weight made the plane more maneuverable. There were rumors that some kind of gear was being developed to shoot machine guns through the propellers, but the tops of the wings had to do for now. Hamilton grinned. This was the next generation of warfare.

*Same as the Nieuport 10, just different spelling.
