Alas, another year comes and goes. Tomorrow marks my 4th anniversary of joining NationStates, and I can safely say that though I've been playing this game for 4 years, it seems as if it was just yesterday that I started out.

Sadly I lied last year when I said that I was going to take things to a whole new level. Work and assorted personal problems kept me off the site for awhile, and year 3 was spent largely in seclusion, emerging every once in awhile to do battle with the likes of The Kraven Corporation (great guy, really easy to work with) and so on.

BUT, this year it WILL be different, and I've already started by threatening to declare war on a 100+ nation region for trying to recuit Gholgoth into becoming a protectorate of theirs (the recruiter sadly tucked tail). Expect good old fashioned wholesale slaughter on levels that were seen last in '04, and a LOT more surprises involving my characters and national direction.

Hopefully this year will be one of my most memorable, and I want to thank all of those I've interacted with, and those who still read my work.

Dreadfire still views Kraven as irrelevant, though some in the Freekish military and diplomatic offices are growing weary of Corporate authorities spouting off. Doubtful if anything will happen in the near future.

On a personal note, I remember the first RP I tried to join involved you; I remember joining the side you opposed, looking up your nation stats and shitting myself seeing your five billion to my seven million. I think after seeing that and everyone else's fear of you, I flip flopped and changed views. Heh.

Having been around for almost all of that time to read your works and watch your character developments from the beginnings of the APTO, I can say it's been a great pleasure and a helluva ride. I doubt I'll be able to go all out with the RPs and be in all of them due to school and sports and social life taking up most of my time for a nice long while, but rest assured, I'll be in where I can, and I'll read what I can. 'grat's on the big #4, and hopefully there'll be a few more.

Congratulations, my friend. It's funny, I never before realized how close our two original join dates were - April 15th will be my four years.

Having been around on NS, though not always on II, for nearly four years as well now, albeit with a year-or-two break in the middle, I can firmly say you're a great RPer and a good guy to work with OOC. I'm glad we've managed to do stuff together, and I'm glad I'm on your good side IC and OOC.

Now with this announcement, given in typical AMF style, I look forward to seeing just what's going to happen over the next year. Should be a good time.

Alright glad to hear it! Unfortunately I only recently came into activeness here on II and never had the chance to read through all the stuff you did before although I've had to listen to it incesently from friends here on NS. Who know perhaps the paths of Groznyj and AMF may cross someday soon. Happy 4th birthday! :p

My sentiments exactly.;) You're quite the force to be reckoned with AMF, in either sense IC or OOC, and that only makes this forum better. I'm still new thanks to missing out on 2K4 and 2K5 while CTEd, but a quick read of the histories and simple listening has schooled me there. After all, without characters like Damien Dreadfire to take up a good cause so brutally that people wonder about those siding with him, I'd have to go much farther ICly to keep my country's underlying conspiratorial and mercenary streak in play after all the sweetness and light we normally fight for...:p Perhaps even so far as to cross over into real 'villainy', after all.
Ah, enough about me. Kudos to a great nation of great characters, AMF.:) I can only hope to learn from your example, and maybe be your equal by my four-year mark if ever. So far I like your thread versus Melkor, so hopefully we'll see that done somehow. My nation's elves live in the usual IC fear and loathing of him anyway, so we're rooting for you. As for the rest well, hey; the play's the thing...
