Recent Violence in Slevovica

Balkan Peoples

Following the recent change of regime in the Democratic Republic of Balkan Peoples, a number of rebel groups loyal to the former government have seen fit to conduct a campaign of terror against our noble citizens.

These groups are heavily armed and militarily active in the country. In recent days they have targetted communications and transport networks, a goverment building in the former capital of Slevovica, as well as military convoys and journalists working for state media. We also believe that they may have been responsible for the recent massacre of 200 people in the village of Smoreva.

As these groups work underground, it is extremely difficult to make arrests and to pinpoint the source of the violence. Our intelligence network and military police force is stretched to it's limit at present.

The violence is mostly centered around the poorer south of the country, particularly in the region of the city of Slevovica where many people are still loyal to the old regime. It is for this reason that in that area these rebel groups find it easy to garner support for their actions.

We wish for peace in our country, but this is difficult when so many of our citizens hold divided viewpoints on how the country should be run. Following the military coup that ended the previous regime, the political ideology of our people can be split into three parts-those loyal to the current government, those loyal to the previous government, and a small core of Orthodox activists who are waging a war against both sides in the name of God.

It is for this reason that we ask your advice. How can we put an end to this spiral of violence and finally bring peace to this troubled nation?

President Billy Entir heard about the violence that was occuring in the nation of Balkan peoples and the deaths of 200 or more people. Therefore, in discussions dealing with the nation of European Islands, it was also agreed upon that a mission of nearly 20,000 troops should be organized and sent to the Balkan peoples nation to liberate the people from such an oppressive government and 'militant ethnic groups' that were killing such innocent civilians. Therefore, it was agreed that the Empire of Rodutistan would issue a demand to the government to end the violence in several days or face Rodutistan 'liberators' for the people of the Balkans peoples.

To Balkan Peoples
From Rodutistan Foreign Ministry

The Empire of Rodutistan is extremely troubled by the violence in your nations south that has led to ethnic violence and the killings of innocent people. We therefore believe the rebels doing such actions should be crushed and brought to justice. However, we believe that the nation of Balkan Peoples holds a large responsibility for such violence that occured within its borders and needs to be replaced to have a more effective, efficent government that is more representative to the nation of Balkan Peoples. We give the government two days to end the violence that has occured in their nation or we will have 20,000 troops desend into Balkan Peoples and liberate the peoples from the rebels and from your government's cruel rule that has resulted in such violence.

Ridu Airforce Base:

At the Ridu airforce base about a good sixteen bombers and fighter jets were being armed with fuel and ordanence. As well as troop planes were preparing to carry the highly elite Airborne regiment of 3,0000 troops of the crack Rodutistan National guard. In two days if violence didn't end, these troops would bomb, and attack the nation of Balkan peoples and colonize it with a puppet government.

While the trouble of the Balkan Peoples may be the fault of its government, conquest is not the answer. The Holy Empire will support the current government of the Balkan Peoples to stop the riots. Any action by Rodutistan in regards to military actions will be opposed. Joe the sandwich will protect the sovereignty of the Balkan People against the imperialist actions of Rodutistan through force of arms. We have already athurized a police force to mantain order in The balkans peoples land if they approve. We urge the government of Rodutistan to back down.

The previous government was oppressive and was overthrown for the good of the people. The current government supports it's citizens fully, and under us they lead a better life. Most of the population supports the present regime.

We do not believe that an invasion is the answer. This would only increase ethnic tensions and thus lead to more problems. We seek, as always, a diplomatic resolution.

We thank all nations for their assistance in this matter where assistance is given.
