IMPERIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The cog flickers into existence on countless holo platforms around the Galaxy, gently giving way to Inquisitor Malorum, standing upon the bridge of an Imperial Star Destroyer. His crimson robes, and perfect complexion stares into the camera smiling with jubilence.
"My fellow citizens of the Empire, today is a glorious day for order and unity within our Galaxy. Upon the orders of our beloved emperor Palpatine, the Imperial Navy and Sovereign Protectors have begun the final extermination of the Rebellion. From Santos VI to Aubrie III the empire has exacted retribution for the countless attacks upon you, the people."
The images turn to Imperial Star Destroyers firing down upon planets, X-wings being engulfed in flames and Mon Calamari Cruisers detonating under sustained fire.
"We are happy and proud to report to you, that the leadership of the rebellion has been killed, cowering in the spice mines of Kessel. Our noble storm troopers suffered a terrible loss in the prosecution of this endeavour, but I am told, the core is ecstatic at finally ridding the Galaxy of the menace which has plagued us all for over one hundred years.
We are now able to tell you, that the empire has infiltrated the rebellions web of spies and criminals, using their own cowardly efforts against them to remove the final threat from our sides.
We are also able to report to you, that we have begun the extermination of Coredian spies and assorted Federation consorts within our ranks. The emperor asks me to assure you, his loyal subjects, that there will be nowhere to hide, nowhere to run, when you commit treason against the state!
Today, truly is a glorious day for the Empire!"

The so-called proclamation was digested with some interest amoung the highest servants of His will, and even given passing consideration by the Ineffable himself.
In the end, the more common reaction was amusement, and some pity. Meat-creatures seemed to be most content with killing each other on a large scale, and, of course the wording of the message, the 'beloved Emperor Palpatine', the 'noble storm troopers'. As if any meat being knew true loyalty, or the real nobility which came only from Compleation. As if the sacrifice of flesh had made a difference, or would even be remebered in a few short years.
Consideration was given to making a response, but in the end it was decided that angering the meat that controlled the so-called "Empire" would only result in difficulty.
Phyrexia remained silent.

"Message coming through!" shouted a crewman.
"Put it on viewer," ordered Malconi
The viewscreen changed from showing the stars to the Imperial broadcast.
After Inquisitor Malorum disappeared from the screen, Malconi stood from his chair. "Contact the Bari," he ordered. "This could mean the end of our weapons smuggling in Imperial Space."
"What do you think the Godfather will do?" asked the crewman.
"I don't know," Malconi replied. "That's his choice to make. Now, let's get back to work. These laser cannons won't deliever themselves."

Thrashia

Moff Kardas stood in the darkened office and watched as the hologram message came to the end. As head of the Thrashian Intelligence organization, Kardas had met Marlorum on several occasions. He had never really liked the fellow. Fanatics were too dangerous to be in high places like Malorum's.
"A nice bit of propaganda," said the man seated behind an oak desk next to Kardas as the light of the hologram faded. "Though I find it hard to believe that all the Cordians and their other kind will all be found."
Kardas smiled. "Ah, but Your Excellency, you must be optimistic. Our part of the Imperial Intelligence has captured as many as half a dozen spies already in the Julian system trying to reach here. It is a good thing the Emperor Palpatine is taking them as a serious threat."
Emperor Treize Kushrenada sat back in his chair and sighed. He was aging. He had taken power more than thirty years prior, after having sabotaged the former Emperor Shadaum IV's personal fighter and taken power in the vacuum of space that his absence created. Ever since then he had molded and shaped Thrashia to something even better than what the Shadaum line of emperors had ever dreamed of.
"Serious or not, I will of course be authorizing you to follow this directive from Coruscant," said Treize, at length. "As I am increasing the Fleet and Army I will see to it that your organization is given some more funding as well."
Kardas bowed. "I thank you, Excellency."
"Just be sure to provide results. See to it that your agents cover our tracks in...other places. From all prying eyes," said Treize, giving Kardas a piercing look, one that was used to cow generals and put fear into the hearts of soldiers. The intelligence chief swallowed but kept his face serene.
"All shall be as you command."
"See that it is."
Taledonia

The Republic had heard the message, and as always there were mixed feelings and opinions on the subject. Most looked upon the news with disdain, not really caring what happened in a far off Empire that influenced little their own lives, while others seemed to have a purely critical view on the subject, seeing the Emperor as a tyrant and thanking the Gods that they lived within the free society that was offered by the great Republic. The Senate, particularily, seemed to pay attention. Some were saddened that the Empire would soon be whole again, giving them some added strength, while others were pleased with the progress of their monarch counterparts. One such man was a young Senator, who took the time to personally send a message to the Emperor himself.
To: His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Palpatine of Coruscant
From: Senator Decimus Marius Octavianus of Taledonia
Good King, a congradulations is in order! The Republican Senate knows just as well as you the importance of law and order, and the need to crush rebellion quickly before it spreads to reveal more chaos than you can shake a stick at. I wish the Empire good hunting in its continued war on the rebellion.
Sincerely,
Octavian
Senator of the Republic

The transmission, just like any other, failed to penetrate the Great Barrier that surrounded Bretonian core space. Listening posts on the exterior side of the jump gate did pick up the message however, both military and civilian. It was at this moment that the transmission became a victim of bureaucracy. The civilian listening posts, mostly owned by media companies intent on finding ratings-worthy news beyond the Barrier, disregarded the transmission as uninteresting and did not even bother to save a copy in their records. The listening posts operated by Military Intelligence Department 3, on the other hand, put it in the queue of things to be addressed.
It was over a week before the underfunded listening post assigned a technician to work on converting the transmission into a file format readable by Bretonian computers, a task that was not without its difficulties given the differences in computer architecture between civilisations. This process took several days, and upon completion the readable file was then placed into a larger file of materials to be transmitted through the gate on the next scheduled data dump.
Several more days passed before the transmission found itself in the hands of MI3's main headquarters on New London. There, it entered another queue of intelligence waiting to be analysed, where it was assigned a 'minor' priority rating. Thus, another week passed before any personnel got around to dealing with it. Unable to find anything of critical importance to the national security of Bretonia, the glorified secretary saved a copy in their archives and forwarded the transmission on yet again to the foreign affairs office of the Bretonian government.
There, another secretary forwarded the transmission on to the Foreign Affairs Minister as it came in, who had a full e-mail inbox at the best of times. Several more days passed before Foreign Affairs Minister Gordon James raised the transmission with Prime Minister John Jacobi at one of their morning meetings, half-way down a list of other points.
"To my recollection Bretonia has never had any contact, formal or otherwise, with this nation," Jacobi said after the transmission was played on the screen mounted in his walnut desk. Rain streamed down the arched window behind his desk, highlighting the typically dismal weather the planet suffered from, but the expansive view across the dark, Gothic city was awe inspiring.
"Formal contact has never been established with these Sith people, no," James shook his head. "And you are correct that we have never encountered them outside of formal channels either. Which is fortunate, really, as it seems that informal contact with anybody in this galaxy or elsewhere invariably spirals downwards into armed conflict for no apparent reason."
"Quite so," Jacobi nodded.
"So, what do you suggest we do about this?" James asked.
"You're the Foreign Affairs Minister, I'll leave it to you to decide," Jacobi shrugged and leaned forward. "You know our foreign policies as well as anybody."
"I was going to ignore it," James said. "Their internal affairs are of no concern to us, nor do I see what interest they will be to any but their closest allies, if they have any. Though it is an opportunity to establish some kind of formal contact between our governments, even if it is just a brief 'well done old chap' message."
"Go ahead and do that, then," Jacobi nodded. "What's next?"

The Constitutional Monarchy of Bretonia
To the government of the nation of Unified Sith.
The Government of the Constitutional Monarchy of Bretonia offer our congratulations on the success of your campaign against terrorists within your national sphere of influence. As a nation suffering from the consistent attacks of numerous terrorist and piracy organisations we recognise only too well the importance of national security, law and order, and hope one day to enjoy the same internal peace that you have achieved. Certainly the innocent civilians living in your nation who have suffered the effects of constant internal violence will be sleeping soundly tonight.
Prime Minister Jacobi and Her Royal Majesty Queen Carina I also offer their congratulations and respects. Perhaps some day some form of formal contact can be established between our two nations.
Until that day, good tidings to you.
Sincerely,
G. James
Foreign Affairs Minister Gordon James
