OOC: For my Moblization of my forces check the General IC Thread.

SIC: The French Government had fallen. Their ineptitude had finally gotten the better of them and their corrupt leadership had fallen. Now it's lands were in turmoil and anarchy reigned. For this day, many Germans had trained. This was the day that Benelux finally knew what it was like to have a real Government.

Already 1,200 Fallschirmjäger Special Forces troops are in the Benelux region. Most of them are in the Eastern Portions of the countries, and are setting up safe areas and helping local law enforcement. They are trained to be able to defeat enemies twice their size and now is the perfect time to put their training to use.

A week after them comes the real force. 68,000 German Infrantry, 150 Leopard 2A7 Tanks, numerous other vehicles, and 18 Fighter Jets. They will be operating under the guise of Peace-keepers, but in fact they are there to occupy the Benelux. There mission is too occupy the Benelux until a general Referendum has been passed in the region. The refendum will include such options as Joining the Confederation, becoming a new country, becoming a protected state, ect, ect. Once a decision has been made the troops will either leave the country or help set up bases in the country.

IC:

Diplomatic Communique to the World

Due to the Ineptitude of the French Government, the Benelux region has become a warzone. Anarchy and looters rool the streets. Law Enforcement officials are nowhere to be found. And where is the French Government in all of this? Slowly dying in Paris. They have left the Benelux to fend for itself. That is a sin we, the German Confederation, can not allow. So, we are moving Peace-Keepers into the Region to restore order.

SIC: The Aviation Brigade of the First Division is also being mobilised, in addition to those of the Konoe Divisions, to participate in the Georgian rescue effort. This is in case of turmoil resulting from this unexpected change of strategic circumstances in Europe.

The United Kingdom supports the actions by the German Confederation. It has closed off all ferries to the Benelux and France to prvent the escape of high ranking French officials. We've also closed the Channel TUnnel. If you ened any further cooperation, feel free to ask.

The United Kingdom will also send peacekeepers to France itself. Are you interested in a combined "peacekeeping" operation in Metropolitan France?

Further SIC.

The already mobilized Carrier Battle Group was moved to the Southern Part of the North Sea, almost near the entrance of the Channel. The fleet halted all shipping in out of the Benelux. Effectively they cut off one of the largest ports in the world, the port of Rotterdam.

The Amphibious Battle Group in Portsmouth was also ready to leave port. The entire Marine Corps (4500 men) embarked the waiting ships. The 2nd. Mechanized and the 1st. Airborne stood ready for action in the South of England. All these units would be ready for action in 48 hours.

The Air Force meanwhile continued their patrols over the Atlantic and Northern North Sea. High Altitude Patrols were also flown over France. If any Air Defense System would engage the aircraft, the RAF had orders to take those systems out.

We thank the Kiwiland Government for their support in our actions. We beleive that due to mostly the French Government's Ineptitude and Brazeness that many of the problems we now face in the Benelux originated from France itself. That is why we must help the Benelux, mostly to help them shake off the now long-gone French Governemnt. I hope those Parisians who abandoned the Benelux rot in the deepest pits of hell.

But I speak too harshly... Yes, we thank you for your offer of Oil, but we believe that the North Sea and Scandinavia are enough for us.

IC:

The Fallschirmjäger battalions had been scattered to the winds in the Eastern Benelux. Already groups of 20 or 30 had reached as far west as the Belgian city of Liège or the Dutch cities of Eindhoven and Assen. Due to it's smaller size, most of Luxembourg had been brought out of Anarchy rather quickly with 100 Fallschirmjäger troops located in the Capital of Luxembourg. Only the cities near the french border remain in Anarchy, due to their closeness with France.

It was then that the Fallschirmjäger were given their orders. Hold these regions against all Anarchists and/or Local Militias at all costs. At all costs... these words stood out to most soldiers. What was there meaning? Most took it as a way of saying that the Chancellor didn't want the Region to fall farther into anarchy. Many prepared themselves for a long week. For it was after a week, that the Main German Force would enter the Benelux and bring the rest of the Benelux out of Anarchy.

The Alsace-Lorraine Regions have quite a German Inlfuence over them. It is nothing more than logic that you should also restore peace there. As for the opinion of the world, I think they would rather see a British Intervention than a nation with Nuclear Weapons collapsing in total anarchy.

-German Peace-Keeping Operations in the Benelux G+8-

And so the week passed reletively peacefully for the Fallschirmjäger troops in the Eastern Benelux. After order had been reestablished, most of the citizens in the region were very much happy to go back to their jobs, but they remained ever Wary of the German Special Forces. The remembered WWII and in the case of the Belgians and Luxembourgish, WWI. A few incidents happened just west of the Belgian city of Liège, resulting in one soldier being wounded and the capture of two Belgian Militia Soldiers. But other then that, all was peaceful in the Eastern Benelux.

The 34th and 35th Panzer Divisions lead the move into the Benelux. One division heading into Belgium and Luxembourg, while the other went into the Netherlands. The Netherlands and Belgium/Luxembourg forces were basically equal in size and man power. Their jobs were to help retake what few Eastern Benelux Cities were in Anarchist/Militia Control and extend the peace and order of the East into the West. They expect minor to moderate resistance once they reach the western Benelux.

SIC:

Due to French Anarchists trying to make border crossings from Alsace and Lorraine. The Chancellor has decided to mobilize another Infrantry Division and a new Tank Battalion. The Battalion will be made up of 25 Recommision Leopard 1A5s. The Infrantry division as of this time has not been decided, but it is known that it will be on the move in three weeks time. Their target is most likely the German-Influenced Regions of France, Alsace and Lorraine.

In just 16 days German forces had made great strides in their Operations in the Benelux. Already elements of the 98th Light Infrantry Regiment had reached the outskirts of the Dutch town of Utrecht. Much the Netherlands had been captured and order had been brought to these regions. Alot of reports indicate the Anarchists and Militia Forces are currently located heavily in the region between Rotterdam, The Hauge, and Amsterdam. This area is just beyond the City of Utrecht.

The fighting in Belgium though, was much slower. The German forces had only just begun to encircle Brussels. The City was a G+16 objective. But there is good news. The cities of Mons, Mechelen, and Leuven are all under German Control and are greatly assisting in the encirclement of Brussels. Estimates suggest that Brussels will be taken in less then 8 days, others say 12.

SIC:

The Infrantry Division has been aquired for the peace-keeping Mission to the Alsace and Lorraine area. It will be the 186th Infrantry Division out of Munich. They will be supported by the newly recommisioned 1st Light Panzer Division. Also being mobilized are elements of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion from the 190th Infrantry Division. Theres units wil move immediately to the Saarland Province and commence operations there, once the Light Panzer Battalion is ready.

Brussels was in German hands. Fighting in the city had been sporadic and limited to certain regions of the City. Most of the combat was done in buildings with German Troops doing room-to-room sweeps of the buildings. Thats why the take-over of Brussels had taken nearly 8 days. Now the German force was moving towards the town of Aalast where they will spend half a week resting. Then they will move onto the City of Antwerp, which is possibly their only way to cross the Scheide River.

The fighting in the Netherlands still is quite fierce. Only now have the German Forces entered the city of Rotterdam, a city which had been under blockade by the British. But there still is good news. Other units of the Netherlands force had entered and captured the city of Dordrecht. The port town or Eurooport is now with the German Peace-Keepers Grasp. All looks very well for the Benelux Operation.

SIC:

Operation Alsace and Lorraine was a go. Already the forces that had been Mobilized were moving across the border. Led by 25 Leopard 1A5 Tanks, the German Troops new their mission. Take Alsace and Lorraine. They were prepared.

The British Armed Forces will launch operations in western France, starting in Brittany. RAF missions may be executed over all of France. We request that Air Crew who are shot down over your territory will be treated with respect and returned to Britain as soon as possible.

SIC.

At 23.30 Hours Operation Revival began. The Royal Air Force commenced bombing runs over Britanny, Normandy and Pas de Calais, striking at strategic targets. A special Force of 12 Eurofighter Typhoon and 24 Tornado's would attack the French naval Base at Brest, with the orders to sink every French Vessels in port, with priority given to the French Nuclear Detterent Forces (Submarines). For further destruction SAS teams were dropped near Brest with the orders to infiltrate the city and cause havoc and chaos. Harriers operating from the Carrier Battlegroup launched attacks near Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque.

because the nation was in fact at war with another nation capable of Nuclear Warfare, the Nuclear Detterent Forces left HMNB Clyde for the Atlantic, cruising around ireland for the Bay of Biscay.

At 00.00 Hours, 1st. Airborne boarded their transports and headed for the area around Rennes. They had adequate Fighter Cover, given by several squadrons of Eurofighter Typhoon. At the same time the SEAD Squadrons flew missions over the eastern edge of the Brittany peninsula, trying to draw attention from any Air Defense System which was undetected. A few thousands feet higher Tornado's were ready to bomb those sites when they were discovered.

The Amphibious Battle Group was waiting for dawn at sea, carrying 4500 Royal Marines and several SBS Squads. The SBS Squads would land on the Island of St-Cast le Guido and near St. Malo, securing the invasion beaches. In Portmouth the 2nd. Mechanized waited in Conventional Transport (Cruise Ship etc.) for transfer across the Channel. They would land as soon as the Marines had established a beachhead.

0025 hours, over Brittany

Corporal Wilkinson was pretty excited. This was his first Combat Operation, and it could be pretty hairy. He and his Regiment were to land at LZ Gin, just South-West of Rennes. Their comrades of the 1st. and 3rd. Regiments would land on LZ Brandy and LZ Mead respectively. Their mission was to hold the area to the North, West and South of Rennes and wait for the land forces who would land near St. Malo. He was suddenly interrupted by a loud voise from Sgt. Pramish.

"One minute lads, get ready!"

They stood up and waited for the light to turn green. Every man thought of their homes, wives, girlfriends. Some prayed for possibly the last time in their lives.

"Grean, go, go go!"

A few seconds later Wilkinson felt the wind rushing through his gear and felt the sensation of freefalling for a short time. He then pulled a cord and his parachute opened. His first Combat Operation had begun...

Antwerp was now in German hands. After a week of hard fighting, the city had fallen. The fighting there was worse in comparison then the fighting Brussels. Now German Forces are preparing to cross the Scheide river and enter the Flemish Portion of Belgium. German commanders expect even heavier fighting there.

In the Netherlands there is good news. Rotterdam has been finally taken. It has been home to some of the most intense fighting in the Benelux theatre. But in taking the city the German forces also damaged it quite badly. Estimates suggest around 75 to 150 Million Dollars worth of damage, possibly more. The German Government has announced that it will help rebuild Rotterdam, even going as far to pledge 200 Million to the Reconstruction Efforts. Another 500 Million has been pledged for the rest of the Benelux region.

SIC:

The French Town of Strasbourg has begun to be seiged. Estimates suggest two weeks before the city falls. All of the German Troops are prepared for the fighting to come. Further reports of more mobilization orders are sent out. The Chancellor hasn't made a statement yet.

Update Operation Revival

Operations continue to advance on schedule. The last bombing raids against French Targets in Pas-de-Calais, Normandy and Bretagne have been succesfull. Reconnaissance shows that all of the French Armed Forces which can prove to be a threat for the British operation in Bretagne have been terminated. To prevent any damage to Civilian Area's, bombing raids in Normandy, Pas-de-Calais and the rest of France have been halted. The Airborne Assaults have been succesfull, the Brittany peninsual has been cut of from the rest of France. Advanced Paratrooper Units have penetrated the outskirts of Rennes and have secured the entry and exit roads. The Raid on Brest was pretty effective, damaging or destroying all ships in port, but with some losses. Three Tornado Fighters have been shot down, their crew either killed or rescued by the SAS Team near Brest.

The Amphibious Assault has also been succesful, with only light casualties due to accidents. The 2nd. Mechanized is currently being deployed near St. Malo, ready to advance towards Rennes. The Royal Marines have already secured the Eastern Flank and are no moving westwards along the Northern coast.

If everything continues to go so well, operations may end within 3 weeks.

SIC.

Alarmed by the Agressive Response by the Han Empire, Great Britain has mobilized it's Air Defense Systems. The entire Armed Forces are on alert, and the Territorial Army is ready for action in 48 hours. The press in Britain has been mildly interested in Operation Revival, merely criticising the Government for such a drastic action. The Labour Party has condemned the actions by the Government.

Having been in control of Antwerp for 12 days the German troops now had viable acess to Flanders and it's cities. The First target for them is the city of Gent, which also stradles the Scheide river. Antwerp was seen as a much more viable targer compared to Gent. Also a target is the Dutch city of Terneuzen as it is ver close to Antwerp. Analysts suggest that Flanders will be easier to gain control of then Wallonia. Only time will tell.

The German forces in the Netherlands have taken the Hauge after 4 days of intense fighting. The fighting in The Hauge was almost as bad as the fighting in Rotterdam and damage to the Hauge was extensive. The German government stands fast in it's statement to rebuild the Benelux and pledges another 150 Million USD to the Rebuilding of the Hauge. Now all thats left in the Netherlands is the Capital city of Amsterdam. Fighting is expected to be heavy but not as heavy as Rotterdam nor The Hauge.

SIC:

The fighting Strasbourg had died down. There still were sporadic gun-fire heard, but the city was now in German hands. With Strasbourg under it's control, the German Army could now begin assimilating the rest of the Alsace Region and then move on to the Lorraine province.

In only two weeks of operating in Flanders the German forces have occupied much of the region. Only small pockets of disobedience remain. The only city left for the Belgian German Forces is the Dutch city of Terneuzen. It's only a matter of time before the Militia forces are wiped away from there and the rest of the Netherlands follows suit.

Amsterdam has been under German control for 11 days. In that amount of time some minor repairs to the city have been done, like repairing Water Mains, Power/Telephone Lines, and roads. It is a slow process, one that will likely be taken over by a Civilian Contractor in the coming weeks, but for now it's being done by German Engineers. An astounding 1.25 Billion USD has been promised to the people of the Benelux for repairing the damage incurred during this turbulent time. Most of that, a staggering .9 Billion, is being paid by the German Government itself. The rest is being offered by German Companies like BMW, Volkswagen, and Rheinmetall.

SIC:

It has been decided that our efforts in the Alsace and Lorraine regions is for naught. An immediate pull out of all German Troops has been ordered. 75 German Troops died, their deaths will be blamed on fighting in the Benelux and they will be buried with the Iron Cross.

I call Godmod on the destruction of the french armed forces......
Just because French Central Government has collapsed does not mean that its military command structure has done so. There is NO way they are going to let RAF Fighters enter French Military Restricted Airspace with no attempt to stop them, and the fleet WOULD defend itself, even if its at half strength, it takes a dozen people to fight a missile armed vessel when its stationary in port. And only three crewmen to operate a 100mm SuperRapide Naval Gun. You cannot be claiming that the ENTIRE crew of the French Navy has deserted, at most it would be fifty to sixty percent. The French Military is highly professional, and would likely go to great lengths to protect the interests of what remains of the nation itself.
And what of the French Nuclear Detterant that is at sea at this point? They would likely still be doing there jobs, since if the Government is collapsing the Military Command wont sent orders to return home, and if one man with a Secure Sattelite Phone contacts them to say they are under attack, they will mostly start praying on shipping of the Beligerant Powers.

After two and a half months of restoring order. German Military leaders say that the fighting is over. The German military has shown it's metal these past few months. It has not allowed Anarchy and disorder to plant it's seeds in Western Europe. From the damage in the Benelux something great and wonderful will form.

Also due to the end of most of the major fighting in the Benelux, the German Military has announced it's plans to help form a Benelux Self-Defense Force. Currently there is planned for Three Divisions and two Air-Wings, equipment to be provided by the Fabrique Nationale de Herstal, H&K, and other suppliers. Questions are still abound about what happened during the Riots at Fabrique Nationale de Herstal. Their facilities were not touched by the riots or so say the German Troops that arrived there.
