Map of my nation available here:

I'd be more than willing to clarify any questions at all, and I'd like to keep this going to the bitter end.

If you are attempting to invade the country by aiding the rebels, please OOCily tell me, depending on where you choose to invade, you will be engaged by heavy anti-naval fortifications, as well as extremely long-range air defenses; just don’t want any “we landed on jour beech and we pwnzored joo!” type posts.

Mer, although I can't directly intervene in your favor, the Empire will supply you with anything necessary for victory. I can role-play convoys and what not so that anybody opposing can have a chance of sinking them - for the sake of role-play, and because it's just the way it will be, the Empire cannot respond to attacks on our convoys with military force due to the war at home, so attack away! ;)

Uh oh. I hope they were 1A1s. Does this rebellion happen before, after or during production of the 1A2? For the purpose of security of the technology, this may hamper your ability to build them.

Ah, I just got here from being overwhelmed with work Monday. My time will continue to be a little limited for a couple days, but will hopefully clear up soon.

Anyhoo, going to post now . . . just please note my disclaimer above. :D

homework is evil basically.

I can't really argue with that.
The Great F*cking Gatsby . . . actually, it is a pretty good book. This is especially true when one considers the other books we have read (among them Arthur Miller's(a communist) The Crucible)

Back on topic: I've posted. I plan to develop this character (Colonel Jones) a bit, and a couple people might recognize him before I give his full backstory.
Mer des Ennuis
21-03-2007, 06:16
Homework does suck; Great Gatsby isn't that bad though, wait until college.

As for the RP: I'm waiting for wanderjar to post his first moves before I assault Ville de Deplorent.

What to expect from me to be retconned in: Seizure of Ville de Deplorent; loss of Naval defenses in Ville des Lumieres

What to expect for me in a week or so from the beginning of the revolution: Blockade of Ville de Depolorent by the Maritime Guard; mobilization of Army and Navy.

Most likely I will be landing troops near the capital with a advance force being air dropped in. Once my forces have landed we will begin to set up a defensive line.
Mer des Ennuis
22-03-2007, 01:07
Spit break: What ever you do, can you wait until I post the fall of Deplorent? I'll have it done either tonight or tomorrow.
Czechalrus
22-03-2007, 01:36
I'm probably going to use my naval forces to destroy or severely cripple the naval defenses at Ville des Lumieres so I can establish and area of which to bring in arms for the rebels.

22-03-2007, 22:07
If there is no need for me to get involved with a large force of men, (as said earlier I am waiting to be called upon if needed, which may not happen) is there a way I could use special forces in this RP? I admit I need to work on writing for something of that nature, and am willing to do any role.

If there is something we can work out, please get back to me.

Hailandkill: Go right ahead, always room for random spec ops guys running around a massive nation like mine.

Blackhelm: You might be interested in knowing that there is a large corporate juggernaught in my nation: Global Tetrahedron Inc., headed by CEO Bernard Thibodeau. Also, the correct term is "Arch Arsonist," lovingly philfered from the title bestoweod upon Ork Emperors in WH:40k. President seems to imply there are elections and whatnot.

I know about the Arch Arsonist and all, but the President would be in charge of the Corporate state. He would be only a President in title, sort of like Fidel Castro.

Still here, waiting in the wings...

Ooooh, and two thoughts, while I remember them...

Firstly, I left open the involvement by Ennuisan communists in the spread of communist doctrine within Lyras, to give a reason to "investigate" in stereotypical Lyran fashion.

Secondly, Lyran forces have a history of intervening in the conflicts of nearby states without direct invitation, in order to "preserve the peace". Many international observers have called these "peacekeeping operations" by the less pleasant term "partial annexations".

The two together may make for interesting RP-ing, if you are collectively interested.
Mer des Ennuis
23-03-2007, 00:58
Lyras, I'd intervene, but I'm set to have a shit load of nations landing on my shores. Feel free to send a peace keeping force, if that strikes your fancy.

Right-O. Any suggestions as to what I should do, and who I should meet up with?
Mer des Ennuis
23-03-2007, 06:36
Leocardia: Figure you need at least a few days to mobilize. I'm in the south pacific; that will determine how long it takes you to sail in. You may land in Mer de Ville d'Ennuis; my nation has no IC reason to really trust you, since we've engaged in a war at some point in the far past. Your troops will have to prove their intentions.

Hailandkill: Depends on your intentions; where ever should be good though. If you are going through civilian transit channels, no notification is needed. Since the country IS on high alert, military insertion will attract notice.

Well, I wanted to have my small contingent of men work directly under your guys, or something of that like. I don't want this to be a rogue-type, I run around and do whatever I want mission.

Hailandkill: if thats the case, I'll have a helicopter from the homeguard fleet spot your men; i'm presuming they are in a rigid-hull inflatable, no? Your sub would have tripped the sonobouy line around my nation (roughly 200 nautical miles out or so).

Roger that. If I may suggest operations, I would pick something like attacks on logistics since that could cripple divisions, etc...

I'm going to go through the RP tonight, and put -MIA next to people who haven't posted. If there isn't a post by monday night, I'm eliminating them from the RP.

24-03-2007, 20:12
As nobody else who signed up to be a citizen has posted, could I get an idea on how to start?
Mer des Ennuis
24-03-2007, 20:18
Sure; Pretend you are a civilian living in Ville de Deplorent, and describe what your citizen is seeing.

The main person I'm worried about is wanderjar; I need him to write a post before I can get on with the RP.
Mer des Ennuis
25-03-2007, 05:44
Wanderjar has informed me that he'll be away until next saturday. I'm now looking for an experienced RPer to take his place, at least for the week.

Anyone up for it?

If nobody steps forward to RP the rebels for the Week. Im up for the challenge.
Beddgelert
25-03-2007, 16:38
I'd do it for a few days, but I'd need to know what these rebels are about. I could play them as enthused communards, welcoming Beth Gellert's aid and advice, or as lead by an autocratic Marxist-Leninist/Maoist (depending on the nature of your nation's economy), or clueless and accepting the ideology of whatever nation/group gets to them first... I'd just need to know =)
Mer des Ennuis
25-03-2007, 20:47
As with most rebellions, the reason for the initial rebellion has little to do with how it ends; my country's economy is very economically libertarian, with only one real ub3r corporation existing.

Beddgelert, since you are a communist through-and-through, would you be willing to do it? If you can get on IRC at anypoint, let me know and we can discuss some details.
Errikland
26-03-2007, 01:47
Hey, my internet was dead this week, so my responses/allthatcrap will be delayed.

EDIT: They sent a message to the MdE government a while back; should I just post as if they asked the Empire to get involved, or, am I just being an idiot and not seeing that you already posted that?
Cortellen
26-03-2007, 02:53
I have one simple question. How do I get a hold of these rebels to aid them? I don't want to post something and have it be wrong and look like a buffoon.
Mer des Ennuis
26-03-2007, 06:22
Cortellen: Understood; I'd send an open announcement pledging support. We just need someone to actually RP the rebels. Hopefully the delay won't destroy this RP.
Beddgelert
26-03-2007, 10:09
My access is a bit erratic, but I'll try to do something either tonight or more likely tomorrow, if nobody else has done owt by then.

IRC is beyond me, but if there's anything important shoot me a TG.
Mer des Ennuis
27-03-2007, 01:48
Beddgelert, the only thing I need you to do is RP an attack on Ville de Bruit. Of the 8 guard units there, five will defect once the attack goes down, as will most of the populance; feel free to RP light insurgent actions before you begin attacking. Figure that there have been some combat engineering efforts going on, meaning trenches, light minefields, etc. You have 8 guard divisions and a population of roughly 3 million to conscript from; most capitalists would have already fled from Lumieres, not that there was an insane amount to begin with.

Sorry, I don't seem to have been paying much attention for a few days. Too much cricket/beer, too little sleep. Ah, yeah, do we have anyone else to play the rebels, yet? I think that my attempt to take-over temporarily has fallen rather on its face. I still intend to catch-up with BG's part, of course. On my way out, now, though.
Mer des Ennuis
10-04-2007, 16:09
Beg, understandable. I did get Wagdog to agree to RP as the rebels, but he hasn't started yet, and you did a good job with that post. Feel free to RP as either the rebels or yourself for the time being.
Leocardia
11-04-2007, 03:14
So anything to do with my current presence? Or do I have to have a little bit longer for international support for both sides...
Mer des Ennuis
11-04-2007, 06:01
Well Leocardia, not much is honestly going on for a peace keeper, as of now. If we go through with a DMZ idea, then you'll have plenty of shit to deal with, though this depends heavily on both sides failing to break past the natural bottleneck. Wish I could say more, but you already have a good force in my nation, so sit tight.
