"I cant belive you convinced me to do this." Derrick said.
"C'mon, Im not that bad. Besides, its either this or some rouge takes control of the government." The Empress said smiling. Derrick mumbeled to himself.
"How long do we have?" He asked.
"A few days. I suggest you enjoy it." His Empress said to him. "I know I plan to."
Derrick looked up in slight horror. She couldnt really mean that. I hope she was just joking. We already had a close call last weekend...damn teenagers.
"I hope your joking." Derrick replied.
"Not really..." She said just to scare him. It worked he looked as if he had a feint heart attack.""Calm down. Your no fun. If this is going to work you better make my life more interesting."
"Hey. Im the Head of you Guards, Im sure I can come up with some distractions for you." He said still slightly annoyed with the idea of marrying her. It was the only way to keep the government together. Without her being married she could be legally overthrown by he people, not that he would let that happen, but bloodshed wasnt a thing he wanted.
"Good. Ill make some calls, maybe we can meet some politicans while were at it." Empress Kristina Schraepl II walked away leaving her fiancee sitting to live out his last 3 days as single person to the fullest. She doubted he would.
Derrick sat quietly contemplating what he got himself into. Why didnt you listen to your parents and become an engineer? You couldnt have lived a nice normal life, no, you joined the army and got yourself a wife at only 18 AND its the Empress AND your old friend. He got up and headed for his command room. He opened the door and sat down.
"Stacy." He adressed his secretary through the intercom.
"Yes sir?"
"Send the message out to the people. Our Empress is getting married. And make sure the international community knows about it. I want something of benifit to come out of all this." With that he took his finger off the intercom and eaned back in his chair comtemplating the future of the Empire.

"This just in. We have recieved reports that the Empress has found a husband. No official word yet as to who it is, but it will be held at the Imperial Palace in three days. Everyone is welcome. This is Trisha Takinawa live from SNN."
