The NS Draftroom (http://draftroom.modernwarstudies.net/) is an online community which was founded by Sarzonia, designed to set up a place where anybody could have their weapons peer reviewed by other game players. Some of the most well known names show up there, and really, if a design has not been peer reviewed there then it's probably not worth buying. ;)

So, if you are an NS designer, or are interested in being one, or just like to talk about technology, the NS Draftroom (http://draftroom.modernwarstudies.net/) is the place for you!

Well, but keep in mind to be careful about what you say. Meaning being politically correct, undoubtedly inoffensive, cheery and the like. If you're planning to go against the current, it might be not the best place. Just the lesson I learned about NSD.

The Draftroom doesn't shun people going 'against the current'. It shuns people who justify ridiculous and physically impossible designs (say, like, The Phoenix Milita's), an who can't explain why and how they're doing it.

Note: the rant below was about the obsolete phased out one. The new... Well, let's see, but I expect it to turn out at least somewhat better.

Well, this too, but I've learned it goes both ways, for instance going further about realism (of others' designs) than the average.
While it isn't a bad place, some concepts like "sarcasm has no place here" or "unless you suggest improvements, don't post" look somewhat overrestrictive to me.
I think the formal rules would better be linked first:
Not to criticize, I myself post there, but just that I'd be happier with NSD if speech was regarded as a revocable right (like here) rather than a granted privilege.
At least I could move overly technical arguments from NS-II to NSD, rather than vice versa.

The Draftroom is a good place, and if you can accept critisim and accept that your designs might not be perfect, it can be a great place. Good community too.

At least kept in mind... What's better about NSD is that the threads don't sink in an hour, and it's dedicated to get comments. So a good place to have the design checked. Be prepared to get criticism at first, but that saves you from it in roleplay.

"Technically", that's it. Taking an idea already in the air and putting it on a free hosting isn't much of achievement.

But the new one... Ehr. I start to sound like a marketer. Well, at least I can say it will probably fix the flaws of the old one.

As an admin I would give you my vote to be allowed to post, but its up to mac as its his forum or if he does a vote amongs admins.

On IRC Mekugi was having troubles logging on. It kept booting him, saying that he had been banned by the sysops. So, on the NS Draftroom I posted past lock on the IRC thread to tell Mekugi that he wasn't banned, only CGI clients were, and I linked him to the espernet site. I was warned for posting past lock:

I just posted in Draftroom, asking Sarz about it. I'm sure he'll see sense and reinstate you, and hopefully undo a lot of the damage he's done before now.
