I'm not really doing this anymore, it got tedius and boring. If you really like my work though, and want me to make something for me, tg your description and a map link if you've got something already, and I might try something out for you.

The Cartography Division of our fair nation is out of work! After a three-month mapmaking binge, the division has drawn up every inch of land in the Imperium. Now, with nothing left to map, they face closure at the hands of a parliamentary tax cut. To avoid this, the division has allowed any nation, of any alliance, region, political beliefs or demographics, for absolutely no charge! Thats right, now charge at all!

These are just a few examples of the divisions excellent handiwork. Already have a map? That's OK, requests for maps of territories, provinces, states, or even counties are readily accepted. Before you request however, here are some basic rules to follow:

1. The division will not redraw maps exactly the same, so don't ask them to. This is especially true with maps with borders, the intricate details are difficult to recreate.
2. A maximum of two requests a nation, please. The Cartographers do have other lives, you know!
3. The division will not place cities on your maps. We figure you are the one that knows where they are best, and we wouldn't want to screw that up for you.
4. All maps will come with two versions, a blank version, and one with the features asked for.
5. You will give the Division full credit for the map, save concepts you specifically ask for. The Division apreciates links from factbooks/wikis with maps made by them to here, but do not require it. Think of it as being polite.
6. You will not be impatient and/or whiny. Good work takes time.
7. Give the Division all the information they need before they start work. It's just easier that way. Of course, generic requests are appreciated/liked a lot, but we need to know if it truely is a generic request, or if you just haven't given us all the information.

Certainly. In your case, the boundaries can be kept the same, since the Cartographers have the power of GIMP 2.0, and your map is very bare. But is there any specific geological features you would like?

There are a few things we would appreciate inclusions. The north of the mainland is dominated by a lengthy chain of mountains (the Sakic Mountains, if you could provide annotations as well), and there is a waterway cutting through the Urlach province, the Freeman Canal. Greetings, will you draft the United States of AHSCA. We are a nation composed of 5 islands all near but far. (At least 5 or so miles between each)

We perfer if you start with the first letter of our country name and go through:

1st Island: Aurora Island

2nd Island: Hoshino Island

3rd Island: Stilleståndö (Truce Island)

4th Island: Corono Island

5th Island: Animalpolis

Geographically in size you should know Animalpolis is the largest of the 5, followed by Aurora, Hoshino, Stillestando and Corona. I hope we have given you enough data, otherwise we can provide more.

Wait, throught the Urlach province? That doesn't make much since, as a canal through there wouldn't make a trip from one side to the other much shorter at all. I could understand through the Dube province, but Urlach?

It is an island in the antarctic and is a flat plateau (i.e. the sides are all cliffs of the same height and there is icy flatland on top).

Note, those rivers, ridge, and green areas shouldn't actually be there.

And AHSCA, any specific features you would like? Shapes you have in mind, island placement? I'm feeling creative today, so if you don't have anything in mind, it'll be something awesome like a spiral of atolls in various sizes and stages of development.

Really, I'm much better at making brand new maps then editing them. That goes even more so for real world maps.

I want a stylized version of the northeastern corner of Asia imposed on a brand new map. I'm just not good at doing a large country with islands and fjords.

Ah, I see what you mean but the nation isn't an island, it's part of a MUCH bigger continent. There's a map of the region at the wiki (Alliance of Honourable Peoples), and if you look at it, you'll see what I mean.

It did confuse me a little, I admit. The map is nice, but I was hoping the right side of the nation (the mainland as I call it) could be fatter, it's a bit skinny at the moment.

Bah Stupid Time Warp! Well feature whise Kurona has many forests, the area around the capital is clear of any forest area. There are a few rivers.

the rar cabinet gives you sorta a rough idea of what my nationstate is like (but with some stray non representative pics.. that I didn't weed out of the archive.. and it doesn't go fully into detail, and is not wholey representative because some of the building materials arn't the same.

I'm intersted in one of the new territories which I'll try to find a map for, or perhaps you'd be interested in making anew map based on the concept

Not at all. Just, PLEASE use bitmap. I cant tell you how much I hate jpeg and its 'artifacts'.
If it's too big, you can put it in jpeg, but for something like 800x800 pixels, use bitmap.

Strator:


Slightly Skull-shaped, without lower jaw, fangs instead of teeth
Large volcanic plateus where eyes would be
mountain range along the top of the "skull"
very barren and dry
countries on all sides, only connection to the sea is a large gap between the land starting at the fangs
deep lakes where nostrils would be

I tried to make it relatively natural, while still maintaining the skull formations you asked for. If it is too natural, or too alien for that matter, I can easily change it for you.

if you could make a map of the Anj Reich and it's colonies, it'd be greatly appreciated. the natural geography is the same as that of RL earth, however the cities, fortifications, roads, etc. are very different.

it was a while ago i read your first post, so i can't remember exactly what the limits on what you would and wouldn't do are, but if you can only do part of it, the European part is the most important.

the map needs to show cities, mines and the like[preferably] railways, roads, as well as the natural geography.

I'm so sick of trying to wage war in abstract geography, you know?

hopefully that's everything you need to know...

It should have some higher terrain or mountains in the north arm of the Z but that is not 100% necessary.

UNITHU, do you think you could do a map of Vetalia? It looks like this:

-North central is mainly savannah, with a mountainous plateau at the north-center of the north central region.
-West is hilly and temperate (think South Africa)
-East is mainly sea level and tropical, with a few offshore islands
-South is tropical with swamps and lots of rivers, and a string of small islands right off of the coast.

Oceans border East, West, and South Vetalia, while the north is bordering more or less indeterminate landmass.

Please could you make a map for my nation. I`d like it roughly like The USA but near texas, I`d like another piece of land jutting out like Florida. Also all along the top of the nation I`d like a mountain range. If you could do this it would be very much appreciated.

Could you make a map of Calizorinstan?

The west coast looks like from California, to Washington, and the interior of Calizorinstan is mostly grass lands, with a good number of mountains in the northern area, and the western area, with the south having plainland type, and the eastern, mountainous area, with some grassland scattered in between rivers.

Could you make a map of The Holy Empire of Lord Sumguy?
it is a somewhat mountainous area, with a northern coast. the lower altitude land is mostly forest and grassland. The capital city is Sumgaia, which is in the center of the country with all other cities stemming out from the capital.
