Jason had just gotten home after the memorial. Slumping down, he grabbed a beer out of the fridge and watched a news channel replay the memorial. Switching to a channel that was all about gossip and celebrity news, Jason saw his face splash up. Shocked, he choked on his beer and spat it out. The person on the channel was commenting on the fact that he had attended as a personal guest of Lady Riordan. Smirking, he decided to let them rack their brains on that one, even he didn't know why she invited him.

Jason turned off his holonet player and took off his uniform. Throwing it into the wash, he went and took a long shower. Getting out of the shower, he saw that he had received a message. Picking it up, it was a message from Master Elendil telling him to report to the Jedi Academy on Konoha. Jason immediately started packing his things. Calling one of the transport companies, Jason arranged for a seat on the flight to Konoha for the next day. He had just gone to see the season opener in the hockey league the day before so he wasn't missing anything.

The next day, Jason boarded the freighter and headed for Konoha. When he got there, he got an hovercab to take him to the Jedi Academy. As he walked up the steps, he marvelled at the building. It was beautiful. Both simple and elegant at the same time.

Entering the building, a Jedi attendant came up to him. Bowing to him, she said,

"Greetings Captain, what brings you to the Jedi Academy?"

Bowing back to her, Jason responded,

"Actually, I am here for training. Master Elendil told me to report here for training. I am not sure who will train me yet but if you could just set up some quarters for me I can get started on some research in the Jedi ways."

"Gladly, if you will follow me."

Jason followed the Jedi attendant to a well sized room with a bathroom and a study. Showing him how to use the computer and access the databank, Jason unpacked his clothes and settled in to study the basics of the Jedi. He would go more in depth when he started his actual training but he wanted at least some knowledge of the Jedi going into his training.

After getting used to the Academy for a few days, Jason got down to some serious studying. Looking at the different classes of Jedi there were as well as the specialized classes and forms. After talking to various Jedi and being given some basic instruction in almost all of the forms, he finally made up his mind. He would be a Jedi Guardian and hopefully, in time, a Weapon Master. He also chose the forms of Ataru and Soresu. He had been told to inform the Jedi Assistant who had helped him earlier when he had made his choice.

Walking to the front desk, he approached the older Jedi and told her of his choices. Smiling at him, she punched them into a datapad and gave it to a youngling. Running, he left the area, heading for the Jedi Master's quarters. Handing hima datapad, she informed him that it was a brief bio on his master and orders from him.

When he returned to his room, he read up on Master Hoven Kibaa, a Shistavanen. He was somewhat startled by the choice of the master but that made him more determined to do well. On the datapad it said to report to the training grounds in the morning at 7 am. Going to bed, Jason rose early the next morning and put on the formal Jedi training robes. He headed for the training grounds where he waited for his new master.
