Piracy Idea (MT Open Interest)

I have a group that I am going to start RPing know as the Children of Posieden. They are MT Pirates that lurk off the shores of several nations. I am looking for a chance to introduce them. It would of course have to be an Effective RP, by that I mean if my men attack a lone patrol boat and capture it, we keep it for future RPs. Same goes for anything else we capture. Since I've said that this is a INTRO for the Children I would like to see them in future RPs... (aka, don't call your entire goddamn navy on me for attacking a small ship)

Anyone want in?

I'd be interested. Seeing as how I am a pacifist IC, my shipping might make a bit of a tempting target.

Seeing as this is a good sized group (round 800 men with over 100 SMALL vessels) I wouldn't mind taking on both of you at once. Although I need to think of a way to steal a Frigate...

Well, there's always the good ole' fake distress signal ship. Take what appears to be a civilian boat out to somewhere near the path of the targeted ship, and once you're sure that they're the nearest ship to you say 'Help! Help! We're a bunch of civilians (definitely not pirates) and we're sinking or something! Help!"

The problem would be boarding the Frigate to capture it since there is almost no way I'd be able to use that tactic to get weapons aboard the target...
Moantha
13-03-2007, 22:29
Well, concealed weapons could be used, I suppose. Or hostages. Or you could be really daring (and soon afterwards probably infamous) and steal a frigate that had just been constructed. But yeah. That is a problem.

Oh well... Maybe I'll just 'jump' em right?

Hmm... that might work...

Egad! A backpack helicopter! (If not actual flight, at least provides a good increase in jump, as well as probably completely befuddling the poor saps on the ship). Jump from your craft to theirs, and then you just have the work of actually killing the crew that resists.

Heh, I was thinking a night attack using my ARIBs and some ropes...

Although I do have a few choppers...

Use poisons, Cyanogen Chloride might help, but then you'd need some form of air tight area to hide whilst it takes effect, the best would probably be Kolokol-1 with some form of automated release for the antidote, those would probably be the easiest form of takeover.

Also just wondering whether this team would ever be interested in Merc missions?

Poisens are a future possibility but since funds are a little limited I don't think we'll use them on a large scale for now. However, I would be willing to Merc them...

Excellent, then may I shotgun you for further use, in return my nation could supply you with weapons, ammunition and general supplies.

Distract the vessel ie. have one of a fleet of fishing boats need assistance etc. [Perhaps on fire...] with others nearby 'aiding them'...then have RIBs sneak up rapidly [speed would be of the essence] and board. Boarding is your best bet, but it'd be a tough fight.

That's not bad... Anyway, I'll make a thread and if you want in just go to it...

You could try preying on some of our cargo vessels that are transporting arms and drugs for a quick cash boost but my warning is if the Syndicate finds out they will put contracts down on your members..

Boarding an active combat vessel would be a hellishly expensive exercise in terms of man power for less than garunteed results, to be honest you would be better either stealing one that is under refit in a port (potenetially both safer and more dangerous depending on circumstances), demanding one as a ransom for the release or a crisue liner or something or possibly stealign enough stuff to be able to buy one on the black market or a storefront that is less than picky in terms of its customers

As you know, Cassius would be willing to sell weapons to The Children, and maybe point them in the direction of high value cargo...

The Children of Posieden would be glad have Cassius as an associate. In addition to the financial aspect of any information and weapons he may give us we are willing to pledge our aid in escorting him should he ever take to the seas.

Cassius has a shipping company as a front that is protected up the arse by the Siapian government (long story, but the short of it was that they supplied weapons to people the Siapian government officially condemned). Most likely, Cassius would need help retrieving "his" posessions from other's cargo holds.

EDIT: My original thread idea doesn't look like its going to take off, but I'd be willing to set up a meeting with one of the children and one of Cassius's agents.

Dude, has your civil war been retconned or is it just on hiatus?

On topic, mind if I send in a Spy from Toopoxia? Just wanna get involved and that seems the best way...

Good luck getting a spy in, CoP is not the most open organization... many of it's members are from families who have been part of the 'family' for generations. Although it is prolly possible to infiltrate, and just for the sake of it I'll make sure you get in... But if you plan on contactin NS Interpol good luck with that...

And I'm gonna make a post later tonight for the civil war... major offencive coming up...

The USSNB Military is willing to supply you with anything you need. We currently have 15,000 Ak-74s with GP-30 Underbarrel Grenade Launchers, 5,000 RPG-7s, 600 Sa-18s, 900 Saiga 12, 700 Kord Machine Guns ready for immediate transportation, and we can build and donate some of our aging, soon to be retired merchent fleet.

The CoP thanks The Northen Baltic for their offer. However we already have most of the supplies we need. Although if there is anyway you would be able to give us medical supplies that would be greatly appreciated.

I could sell you some boarding equipment through the black market. Thin bamboo poles these are light and strong, a man can climb the pole in a ships blindspot. These are used by Indonesian pirates. Also collapsible metal climbing poles. $20 each bamboo poles, $100 each for metal poles. These hook onto the sides of ships.

Other equipment would be magnetized gloves and magnetized boots for going up the sides of metal ships. Climbing sets $100 each. This is really done.

Fiberglass and wood speedboats. These are designed to be low to the water fast and radar invisible. The engines can be switched to silent running at night. $10,000 each.

Modified fishing boat. This looks like a typical fishing boat, but the hold contains a 125 mm canon which can be raised to the ships decks. There are also drop away crates which can be opened revealing 20 mm autocannons. The inner hull is steel reinforced, but looks like wood from the outside.
$100.000 each.

Hyenias. One against one, they'd never take down a lion. As a group, however, the smaller animal can take down the larger. I'd imagine similar tactics of surrounding and "aggrivating" would work well for pirates.

I'm interested in your idea. TG me sometime (remind me who you are, I have swiss cheese memory) and perhaps we can help one another out if you're interested. You need help getting your pirate organization in order, and I could use some help getting my RPing feet under me.

I'm still interested. My nation has a tendency to ship large amounts of fairly valuable stuff (medicine, jewelry, art, various precious metals, most stuff not firearms, actually) with fairly easygoing security. Tempting target, no?

It's fairly simple. He's telling Drexel Hillsville that if he attacks Corporate Alliance shipping, and he doesn't sell the goods to the Red Mafia, the Red Mafia will take some sort of punitive action against the Children of Poseidon.

The Children would never attack the CA intentionally. They have an understood agreement with Drexel Hillsville that protects their major base from foriegn troops.
