New Reman

I've held onto my country for awhile now until it was at a level I felt comparable with some of the other nations on here and would like to start bringing it here and elsewhere and actually starting to role play with my country. I am, however, new and I don't want to just jump into things and start annoying and aggrivating people by my lack of experience...So I ask all you wonderful people here to help me out. What're some things to keep in mind? To do? Not do? How can I best translate my country's profile into defining it's military, ect ect. I know that it's said before that I had a powerful and intimidating airforce...something I would love to maintain and play on.
So...where do I start? Any help would be appreciated.

Definitely read the stickies. I'm sure some of the guys around here (myself included, I need some excitement) would be glad to do some kind of an RP with you to get your nation going and in the flux of things.

1st: Stickies, read em, memorize it. And remember, chances are you'll look like a newbie, just don't act like a noob when in the OOC. I can list a number of otherwise good RPs statrted or killed purely for OOC reasons. That is very bad form.
2nd: Factbook, work out a description of your nation so that when you anger a nation ICly, they have some OOC knowledge of what they are up against. Include a description of terrain, and basic government structure. Military info may also be presented here.*
3rd: Storefront, go out looking for the best equipment you can get for your tech level, if it looks too wanky, don't buy it, or ask about it. Keep a list of what you have, RL weapons and such don't need purchase, though storefronts list prices of these as a guide.
4th: Join an RP, I suggest first getting involved in an RP that doesn't involve your nation, to learn the finer points of RPing, and these are divided into nation RPs, small unit RPs, and character RPs.
5th: Do something with your nation, by now, you'd have racked up a respectable number of posts (200 to 500). This provides you with just enough clout on the forums to RP as a contending nation. Mess up here though, and you'll be scorned like Hataria.
*Add factbook to Signiture in 'User CP'
A Character/small unit RPer can make a passing Nation RPer, but a large unit/Nation RPer gets difficulty with small units.
