Important Airspace Advisory

Please read this important announcement from the Foreign Ministry and the Headquarters of the Imperial Starfleet of the Empire of Relannae!

As most of you may know, the first elements of our evacuation fleet arrived several months ago and made preparations for the arrival of the remainder of our people from our old homeworld. These elements terraformed the continent on which we have established our nation, and prepared the cities for the arrival of the remainder of the fleet.

Less than 24 hours ago, our deep space tracking system detected the main element of our refugee fleet. It is currently less than 260 light years out, and the first few squadrons should be arriving in less than three days.

We have just completed preparing our orbital station, "Far Reach Station" which sits just beyond the limits of the solar system. Due to the lack of a properly built starport facility on the planet's surface, we will be using this station to handle the larger ships in the fleet. In addition, many small craft and some medium sized transports which do not have atmospheric capability, will be moving into geo-synchronous orbit over our territory.

Due to the expected heavy traffic, both inbound and outbound over the next few weeks, we ask all spacefaring nations to please refrain from travelling within the following radial area from planetary orbit, out to the system perimeter. Base coordinates are 13.44Dx22.82D through 312.112/33.54 LS on the standard chart system. We realize that some nations already have satellites and other vital facilities within that corridor and we ask that these facilities be temporarily shifted to avoid risk of collission. Many of the incoming ships have suffered damage during the hundred year flight from our previous homeworld, and others have suffered through attrition. We cannot safely change the vectors of these vessels without risking issues due to possible navigational malfunction. If you are unable to re-orbit your facilities into a non interdicted area, we will, at our expense, move the satellites and facilities for you. We will also open our satellite relay system to relay communications otherwise handles by foreign communications satellites.

We regret the necessity of this drastic measure, however we have many millions of people who have been in space for over a hundred years arriving in the next few weeks. We also apologize that we cannot currently give specific data on exact arrival times. Most of the incoming ships are having propulsion issues and some are being towed. As such, it is impossible for us to be very precise as per arrival times. Once all of the remaining evacuation craft and their escorts are accounted for, we will loosen the cordon and permit unfettered civil space travel. However, we will continue to maintain aerospace control of the area directly over our nation, and refuse access to any foreighn military craft or satellites unless prior diplomatic arrangements have been made.

As a way to repay the inhabitants of our new home for their understanding and cooperation during this critical time, we hereby volunteer the services of our fleet for rescue or other critical non military assistance to any nation in need of it. Furthermore, if any foreign satellites or facilities are damaged during the move, we will repair or replace these facilities with a comparable satellite or facility, free of charge.

Once our ships are here, and we have a chance to do a thorough inspection and overhaul of them, we will begin negotiations for their use as a commercial venture. Our military vessels will remain in system, based out of "Far Reach Station" as a peacekeeping force and as an aid in any situations that may benefit from their involvement. Please direct all questions regarding this memorandum to the Central Ministries Information Office in Relanne City Rellanae.

Greetings.

As stated in the above announcement, our remaining refugee ships have begun to arrive. They are coming in as expected, in 3 hour intervals. All in all, the plan for timing arrivals is working out well, however...

Just prior to the arrival of the first of the refugee ships, one of our Sparrowhawk class Battlecruisers (seen below) detected an object in orbit with a danger level radiation signature.

After sending an armored engineering shuttle to examine the object, it was discovered to be an orbital weapons platform. This satellite was armed with 20 long range ballistic missiles, each containing a thermonuclear device with an estimated yield of 40 megatons each.

We did not detect this object when our initial vessels arrived several months ago. Also, the device shows very little of the wear such satellites show after a prolonged period in space.

We can only surmise that the device was placed in orbit just before we had our planetary based launch detection system in place.

Needless to say that having someone place such a device directly over our capitol city, has us a bit upset.

It would be nice to find out who put it there, so that we may return it to it's rightful owner. However; if no one claims it, we will tow it outsystem and detonate it just beyond the system perimeter.

A few more notes.

A few nations have apparently decided to ignore our request to keep our arrival corridor clear of local shipping. The Sparrowhawk class battlecruiser "Vengeance" has had to dissuade sever small shuttles and one large tanker who apparently decided to cut through the area.

Also, 2 cargo shuttles nearly rammed one of our inbound transports less than 3 light seconds from our station. 1 of the shuttles actually did collide broadside with the station, causing very little damage to the station beyond scratched paint, but nearly ripping off it's starboard wing and drive cluster. Both shuttles along with their crews are currently our guests on Far Reach station and will remain there until arrangements for their safe return to their home nations can be arranged.

We once again ask for your cooperation for the next few weeks. The corrider we have interdicted is very small and should not pose any serious challenge to ships who need to go around it. It was very fortunate that we have two of our Battlecruisers watching out for collissions. Had they not been there, there may have been a body count by now. Please remember that the incoming vessels were designed for a flight lasting just over 100 years. They have incredibly tough hulls and carry a lot of inertial torque with them. Any small craft or even larger craft which collides with them will surely get the worse part of the bargain. The interdict is there for your safety as well as ours.

We also want to issue a special thanks to Crown Prince Marcus 1st. Commander of the Sparrowhawk class Battlecruiser, Vengeance. It is only his fast action which stopped a near tragedy.

The Empire of Relannae wishes to thank our brother nations for their cooperation during our operation arrival. All of our ships and personnel are now safely in orbit and being processed as quickly as possible before being shuttled to the surface and their new lives. Our Far Reach station will move to a slightly wider orbit where it will serve as a hub for commerce and travel.

Our military craft are now engaged in system patrol, ensuring the peace throughout the solar system.

Once again, thank you for your cooperation, orbital travel over our airspace is no longer fully restricted.
