This is how this will run out:

* Each group will host two matchdates between all teams - one away and one at home. Since all of the groups are equal, that means every team plays 8 matches. The top two contenders in each group are automatically selected to go to the World Cup [12]; the third seeds will be run through another round to determine the next 4 seeds [16].

* I will be playing over the next five days [SPRING BREAK!] results from the matchdates. The last two days will be reserved for the final playoffs before the World Cup begins in earnst this coming Monday.

* On Monday, I will begin playing the three group matches. The top two seeds in each group [8] will run through the elimination stage, over the next three days. on Sunday [25MAR2007], I will post the results to the World Cup Final Match - after which, Season Three will begin. I will post a detailed list of the dates at a later time, but this is how things will look like:

Hopes are high after the announcement of the groups for qualification of the coming World Cup. It is expected that the team could win at least 2nd place in the group. The first Home Match is against Namibia in two months. The match will be played at Dublin's Croke Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croke_Park).

After a exciting match in Addis Ababa the Ireland side won after two goals by Damian Duff. The next match, back home at Croke ParK, was a big dissapointment. The only Irish goal was made in the 89th minute by Robbie Keane. Although there is much to learn, the general perfomance by the Irish team the two first matches in the WC Qualification round was OK.

their was great tesnsion in Pretoria, following the Boersttats humiliating defeats.

Sports Journalist Heinrich Muller described the Boers performance as atrocious and compleltely unacceptable and if they were to contiunue to embarress the republic like this, they should be withdrawn from any competition...

The Boerstaat team were welcomed back off the pitch at loftus to a cacophony of boos and the security even had to hold angry Afrikaner sports fans back from attacking the team.....

to late unfortunatly for K.P hoisen the goalkeeper who was smashed in the head with a empty Castle lager beer bottle..

an irate fan even said.... "thats what happens when you put kaffirs in a Boer Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" one of the black defenders got incensed by this and dropped kicked the fan in the face, reducing him to a bloody pulp. a agngry mob saw this and pulled out butterfly knives fortunatly due to a combination of Mace and sheer brutality the outnumbered security precence stymied the Violence in its infancy.

A crying boy told his father as they left the field. "I thought Candastan were our friends" The father Then replied to his son "its all right son its only a game you hear?" It was an example a lot of the crowd should of taken.......

meanwhile dissappointment was high in the other states too, The Southern Cape english and Namibia took their respective losses more appropriately though and demanded a full apology from The Boerstaat to the International football association for embarrasing the Entire union like that....

So far the Boerstaat has be unresponsive....

opc i only won 1 Game!!!!!????? crazy bananas man..... (sobs in corner) :)

All across the UCR fans everywhere were cheering. Both of their teams had done well so far in the Qualifier with the UCR going 1-0-1 and the UIR going 2-0-0. UIR Forward Payam Khurshid scored 3 goals in one game against Southern Sardinia. He is currently all-time leading scorer in World Cup Qualifiers for any UCR-Team with 6 Goals..

After six matches Ireland was third in the qualification group. It was now or never with only two matches remaining. Coach Jake O' Hara has promised the fans that he would succeed in guiding the team to the World Cup. The tabloids are already busy with the question where O' Hara will flee after another Ireland Loss.

The entirety of South Africa had to appreciate the irony that their "colonial" states were having far better luck than the Fatherland states in the world cup qualifyers...

It now seems likely that both the Die Groot Boerstaat and the "Rooinek" (redneck) Southern cape English will be elinimated from the qualifying rounds.

However many aspirations in the union have turned to the underestimated Mozambique team who have reached the top of their respective table with three consecutive wins...

and president de Vries gives a harsh message to Boer football hooligans. "these mindless and cultureless individuals who excrement on both the Vieukleur and the national flag with their barbaric actions will be automatically banned for a 8 year (2 world cups) period from travelling to any overseas sporting venues, i offer my heartfelt apologies to the nations of Sharina and candistan who had to endure such vile actions and to the hardworking and decent south African and boer volk who formthe overwhelming majority of our sporting audience."

for good Measure president de vries also translated this in french and Arabic.

Poeple across the Federation rejoiced after hearing the news that the FSWA team was 3-1. On a more frightening note, the citizens of Bamako promise blood and destruction if their team doesn't win another game. ISD and Gendarmerie forces have been deployed to the city and all major government and civil centers have been placed under ISD guard. Prenier Bengazi has declared a city-wide lockdown and declared that any riots would be met with the appropriate force. To end it on a good note, though, The Boer Republik has officailly apologised to us for their fans' rude behaviour. The Premier accepts the apology wholeheardetly.

PROSPECTS

Group 1 looks to be fierce contest between Kopparbergs-Middle East and Sharina, as Sharina has stolen the lead over Kopparbergs with two wins against them. Nonetheless, the third place position has become up-for-grabs, with Midway Islands taking the lead over UARCA-East. The last match for both of these teams looks to be a must-win for them.

Group 2 looks to be sending both East Timor and the UCR team to the World Cup Finals, with the third place position in contest between Abyssinia and Ireland. Ireland will need to win both of their games next match, while Abyssinia only needs to one of their matches to secure their entrance. Between UCR and East Timor, the teams are poised for a bitter rivalry that may end up becoming a contest for goal difference points. At the moment, East Timor hold the advantage, having beaten the UCR 3-0, and leading up on goal differential by over 7 points.

Group 3 is much closer than people could have anticipated. The last seeds of the group - Mozambique - are confidently riding at the top of their group, while the top seed - Poland is striding near at the bottom of the group. Unfortunately, Mozambique is at the end of the qualifiers tour, and will have to hope that they are ousted by Vineyard and UARCA-West, to settle for the more contentious 3rd place run-off trip.

Group 4 is perhaps the most definitive group - with ALM leading at 16 points. Great Romeo is following closely at 10 points, making it almost certain that the two teams will be leading Group 4 into the next round. Angola and Cabinda currently holds the position, but given its exhaustion of matches, it will have to hope that neither Kopparbergs-Africa and Scandinavia pull out with any miracles - even if all three teams were tied for points, Angola's goal differential would put them at the bottom of the group.

Having won critical victories against the powerful UCR-Iran team, the FSWA is holding the top position in Group 5. UCR-Iran is also holding a very position as well, but its two losses to the FSWA team puts its position into a delicate spot. In third position, Chad holds a meager lead over Southern Sardinia, which is unlikely to score any extra points against the group leader.

Group 6 has taken some twists in the group rankings since the first matchdate. Bamako leading at first, it has fallen to the bottom of the group. And TG6R - the reigning champions - having lost its first two matches, has risen back to second position, with enough power to try over turn Asian China's hegemony in the group. Sorrowfully, the Rhodesian team has lacked enough steam that its two losses to China puts it out of the race, but leaves plenty of room for Maldives to secure the third position.

All matches played have been of excellent caliber, and we hope that the World Cup itself will boast the same quality, if not better.

With a pause in the series of matches Ireland fans nervously watched their opponents play. A jubilant mood after Namibia's win over Abyssinia was soon replaced by horror when Namibia was crushed by Abyssinia in the return game. The prospect of qualifying now seems grim indeed. Coach O' Hara stands by his promise of qualification.

New salisbury (rhodesia) was rocked by the news that they wouldnt be going any further in the world cup qualifyiers. But to contradict the usbiqitous hooliganism that is rampant in south africa the attitude shown in the capital was of quite and subtle malcontent.

The Elaborate and clean streets of the Rhodesian capital with her rich and flourishing gardens and ordely traffic was an example to the rest of the nation and the citizens of new salisbury knew it... Thier has been talk with the federal government in Capetown to lauch a bid to host the next world cup in Salisbury herself...

Meanwhile in Angola and cabinda and Namibia the sports timings for the away games often played havoc with peoples work schedules, many companies have now issued formal warnings to her employees reminding of their more important "obligations" as many fans in Angola (especially the working and lower classes) went to the local pubs before work to watch certain Away games (due to time zone differances) and were too trollied to go back to work.

In south Africa the local Blacks have been celebrating the Boerstaats crushing defeats in the mines of johannesburg with much delight...

With Bamako in last place again, the Capital of the FSWA went into turmoil. Riots broke out despite harsh warnings from the government and many damaging acts including cars set ablaze, looting, and vandalism have taken place. ISD and SWD forces are moving into the City to assist the struggling Bamako Defense Force that is being strained to its limits. On a more cheerful note, the Premier has granted almost everyone across the Federation shortened work days to wawtch the World Cup. If you are an energy worker, military employee, policeman, civil cervice, or any other important necessity job, we are sorry to report you have to work still. The government apologizes for the inconvenience.

The Irish fans were dissapointed that their team didn't make it to the World Cup. The team was defeated in the last two games by UCR, including a 5-2 away loss which sealed the fate of Ireland. Coach O' Hara has been fired and the new coach will be announced soon.

Review:

Group A is currently led by the hosts, Kopparbergs-Middle East, with two wins to see them through to the end. The second position is strong with Maldives, although a loss to Great Romeo would end their World Cup dreams, and likely it will be enough to send either Great Romeo or East Timor to the Elimination Round.

Group B is currently by neighbors ALM, also with two wins. The Midway Islands - although in second position - still have a tough game against the UCR team, and it seems for every to be a must-win game for any of the other contenders to have a chance. Nonetheless, it would not be surprising to see some new face in the elimination rounds, with an upset over the leading team by Mozambique, given their already present startling inaugural performance.

Group C is at the moment anyone's game, with Asian China as the early departing team with two losses. For Sharina, it is a must win situation - anything else will not see them through. For either UCR-Iran or Poland, they only need a draw to keep them in the game.

Group D is the most startling group, with last season's champions - TG6R falling to the mercy of both Abyssinia and UARCA-West. The CWAA team isn't faring well either against both teams - which are both rising stars in World Cup football playing their first ever World Cup. At the moment, both the UARCA-West and Abyssiniann teams are leading the group, with their last match deciding who goes into the first position and potentially who gets left behind, with a significant win to either TG6R or CWAA.

At the moment, the ALIF Boards makes this following prediction of matches to come, with the third match yet to be played.

Quarter Finals:

Kopparbergs-Middle East v UCR [with a win against Midway Islands]
UCR-Iran [with a win against Poland] v TG6R [with a win against CWAA and significant loss by either Abyssinia] or UARCA-West
ALM v Great Romeo [with a win against Maldives]
Abyssinia [with a win against UARCA-West] v POL [with a draw in the match between Sharina and Asian China]

UPDATE:

HUGE UPSET!

JERUSALEM - The Host team taken on a huge upset over last season's runner-ups - UCR-Iran. The match was a difficult but well-cherished victory for the Kopparbergs team, as disappointment still comes to the world football league. Earlier in the tournament, last season's incumbent champions struggled to way a way into the World Cup Finals, where they made an inglorious early exit to the UARCA-West and Abyssinia teams. New Zealand failed to make an entry, owing to political troubles at home, and it has become apparent that the only returning finalist will be switching sides with the Kopparbergs team - who placed 3rd in the first season.

In the other bracket, the ALM team made a comfortable win against fellow nationals - the Abyssinians - which has sparked some controversy over the matter of indigent national teams. The fear was that in a theoretical situation, it was possible that competing finalists would hail from the same national country, offering an invariable block to the progress of world football. Nonetheless, the Association Board has yet to decide on what to do, despite the present circumstances - allowing both the ALM and Abyssinians to compete in the world stage.

To say the least, the Kopparbergs-Middle East team has rapturous support for the final match against ALM. The UCR-Iran team will take on the low ranking Abyssinia team, hopely to steal away third place - at best. We invite you to watch all of the excitement

REVIEW:

After a rather tense and tough match, Kopparbergs-Middle East stole away the match with one sole goal to separate the ALM team from the Kopparbergs team, leading to the host's victory and their title as reigning World Football Champions. The World Cup has been exciting for everyone, and while we are certain that not every decision or match was agreeable, the competitive quality of all the teams participating has made this project a worthwhile endeavor. The Board announced, at the close of the Match, the commencement of Season 3 - hoping that it will be better than Season 2 and Season 1 combined, a tall and formidable task. Nonetheless, this can only work if the teams make it work, and they have done a marvelous job. One can only hope for the best success this season!
