Homeworld tech?

First off, if this is the wrong area then I greatly apologize.

Anyway, onto what I want to ask. Is Homeworld tech generally accepted as usable and not too wanked? If you don't know what homeworld is, then this site (http://shipyards.relicnews.com/) will explain pretty much everything. It's also where I get the numbers and stats for my ships. So basically I was curious as to whether anyone else uses it and if its within real life physics. Thanks.

Thanks for moving it. I'll make sure that future questions like this go in here.

You wanna know something? Most technology is accepted. There's a fella on these boards that uses the C'tan, a race that is billions of years old and is so ridiculously hightech it makes some of the folks cringe. So, Homeworld would really be looked down on. I think Homeworld's technology is kinda run of the mill in the scheme of things...what with some folks using the Deathstar and all.

Kythons, Wavefront Bombs, Galaxy Guns, Bolo, Mecha, Droids...yeah...Nationstates has a pretty diverse bunch of technologies, Homeworld should fit in fine.

[ooc: Homeworld Tech Itself is not the issue you could have, more point is there sheer production speeds. They can design then build three major ships in 90 days (The Somtaaw or whatever). This is a major issue, cause it means you could theoretically spam everyone.

However, curb the production line to a point where your not able to build a new warship every few minutes, and their fine, if you use the Production levels though, things can get rather nasty rather quickly.

Thats my thoughts anyway.

I think Homeworld technology would be generally acceptable. I love the original Homeworld. It's among my favorite games, even now. Naggeroth made one immensely good point about production speeds, though. While making ships at that speed is neat in the game, here, you would run into incredible problems, both ICly and OCly.

What NS needs is a bunch of transforming Bolo/Mecha.

Or even better, Bolos made of living metal and carrying Galaxy Guns and droid complements protected by Kythons and a Wavefront Bomb array.

Alrighty, thanks guys (and/or ladies). Good point about the production speeds. I had never actually considered that point nor considered including it, but I see where that could be a problem. And Allanea's right... there need to be more of those things running around the galaxy :D .

Not at all. We're here to help each other...when we're not killing each other, that is.

He is indeed right. But then, the immense awesomeness of such would be too much for most people to take.

I expect both have perks...but HW still rocks.
