Robert Hale was an American diplomat who had been sent by President John Harper in order to establish relations with the Hans. In the letter adressed to the Hans, the President had been only discussing trade agreements but to set up diplomatic relations with the Han would be beneficial to both countries.

The meeting was to be held at the Chrysler Building. At one point in it's existence it had been the tallest building in the world, but the Eifle tower and the Empire State building soon surpassed it. Robert Hale had arranged for a meal to be placed, should the Hans be famished from their long journey. He felt good about the meeting, and he was certain that they could come up with some sort of agreement with their Han counterparts which would further captitist ideals for both nations.

Mr. Hale watched as the Han delegation pulled into New York. An old man went to the door of the car she was driving in, and pulled it open. Robert could instantly feel that the woman who stepped out of the car was of noble birth. He bowed slightly as he went to meet her. "Welcome to America. I am Robert Hale the diplomat that was sent by the president. Please, come with me." The doorman openend the doorway as he ushered his guests inside this historic American building. "This building was once the tallest structure in the world. It is the Chrysler building."

Princess Yi was not entirely impressed - the moment she arrives here, she is greeted like royalty, despite the fact that she was elected by the Imperial Cabinet to serve in her position, and that in accordance with the Imperial Decree of the the 37th year of the Emperor Gojong {1900} all elected representatives of the Empire should be ceremoniously titled as Prince/Princess {君}. And then as the American diplomat began to give a tour of the place - she felt that she was taking a field trip to explore America.

But she found that the atmosphere quickly turned to something that interested her more. They entered into a room, and settled their items before a table loaded with hor d'oeuvres. She was modest nonetheless, as she was expecting the best of her host's hospitality. There were many good things of the American people and their ideals - ideals that have affected other countries deeply, by wealth or by pain. But they were not going to discuss that - at least as far as she knew; they were here to discuss the future of diplomatic and trade relations with the Han Empire. And she kept quiet, waiting for her host to open the dialogue.
