Iragia seeking T-55 tanks

The newly reformed Iragian military, the Armed Forces of the Iragian Republic, is seeking large numbers of surplus T-55 tanks to outfit its armoured forces to serve as an interim main battle tank until the economy is back up to proper strength, and also due to Iragian experience with the T-55 from its latest war with the Sovereign League and the overthrow of the communist party.

All vehicles must be in workable condition, and we are seeking older model tanks, as opposed to the latest upgraded versions due to cost reasons and we will be updating the vehicles at the Hamilton Military Vehicle Workshop.

I have some in my storefront (Link in Siggy!).

I already checked your storefront, the model you're selling is a modernized, updated model and costs a million a piece. Tempting, and under consideration, but for the sake of national pride and morale (not to mention economy) we would rather procure older, non-updated models that countries may have sitting in surplus and update them ourselves.

I guess that can be worked out, you know, downgrade them, build old models, or just sell you production rights.

We'll pick up any old models you have in stock, and depending on the number, we'll buy prod rights. How much would they (old/downgraded model and prod rights) go for, and how many are available?

Well, say, 1,600.

The real question is, how many tanks do you need?

We may be able to sell you M-60A1 Tanks which we currently have at our tank graveyards...we could match the T55 prices currently offered im sure. If you are interested then a deal including training on the type may be possible.

How about $600,000 a piece?

Total would be $960,000,000

Hotdogs2 will send a total of 200 M60A1 MBT's to the nation of Iragia at no cost if they will allow us. We are sure after seeing service they will agree the M60 is far superior to the T55 and will gladly purchase more from us in the near future.

If this offer is welcomed then we shall begin preparing capable tanks to be shipped within the shortest time period. Unfortunately ammunition will not be available as our supplies are currently very low for the M60's 105mm rifled main gun.

Order confirmed.

As for the M60s, we have experience with the T-55 both in regards to modifying/upgrading and using them in combat.

We will offer basic training in the M60 should you agree to our offer, we feel this could be a major boost to your nation and with relatively little training we are sure your current tankers and gunners would soon get to grips with the relatively simply M60A1.

Upgrading them to the same type of equipment as a modern T-55 on which you already have training personnel may also be an option, it would mean some equipment types such as weapon sights could be kept the same reducing logistical costs.

I'd sell him some T-64s, T-72s or T-80s, but he wants T-55s, so, lets give him what he wants.

OOC: I have IC reasons for doing it. I have needs to keep a close watch on them, i have several allies involved in Iragia currently, Questers was there, several others and BL is officialy still part of the GDI, although i can kick them as they have broken our rules.

However, currently i'd have those M60's with tracking equipment, if their economy is so bad as to to use old tech then i might get away with it.

T-55s for now, upgrading to more modern soviet vehicles down the road. T-55s were our standard vehicle at the onset of the war, and holds a special place in our people's hearts. We're operating on soviet equipment, and will be for the foreseeable future so M60s are unlikely to be procured.

OOC: As for being allied to BL, probably not something you want to mention when dealing with us, his destruction of our capital city hasn't exactly endeared him to us. Sure, it was our fault for setting up AA batteries, arty, and defensive positions everywhere (hey, schools are great cover for SAMs). But hey, you won't see the Iragian media or government press releases highlighting those facts.
