Takeover Of Swaziland [SYAE]
Official Report from the Honakoen Government
Over the last few days Honako troops based in Zambia and Mozambique have begun taking control over the very small African nation of Swaziland. With a population of little over a million and a landmass of only 17,364 km², Swaziland is one of the smallest countries in the African continent. The decision of the takeover was decided by the Commission after a meeting in the Mozambique capital of Maputo. It was decided that the country should do the following things in the meeting:
1) Expand on its land – there was a thought of invading Malawi but the nation was far too developed and had too high a population and military presence for this.
2) Help the Swaziland people – Honako view this takeover as a showing of aid. Honako is well developed nation with a trained military and high end technology and medical equipment, all of which are now being implemented in Finland, Zambia and Mozambique. On the other hand, Swaziland is famed for being the country with the lowest life expectancy in the whole world – just 32.62 years. Honako decided to take action in order to improve the health service and general life of the people of this nation.
3) It would be a relatively non-hostile takeover – there was little resistance but from a few government officials and military, and most of the takeover process was sorted out by diplomatic procedures.
The nation of Swaziland will shortly be in Honako’s control. As said before the takeover saw little loss of life in military personal and very few civilian deaths as of yet, although we expect some hostile resistance to our takeover. Soon we will begin to set up government there and form military bases. We hope to stabilize the nation and bring it peace and prosperity, and a better life than it lives now.
In other news, Finland, Honako’s largest and most powerful controlled nation is looking for European allies. It is progressive building up a thriving economy and is not looking to expand military wise like Honako’s African nations as it feels ties with powerful countries would be more beneficial at the moment. Also, Finland has had even more improvements in it’s environmental sector, with new litter laws passed seeing a $50 on the spot fine if someone is seen dropping litter and education sector further enhancement which will establish it’s place as one of the cleanest and best schooling countries in the world. There are also plans to open the borders to any foreign immigrants as new settlements are being built by the government in order to boost its sparse population.
OOC: You're going to need more to this then anything. Just saying you entered a country and annexed it won't work. Hell, I did a whole three page topic, with sparse posts from anybody else, for a peice of land the size of Switzerland. My recommendation to you is that you start over and begin this all over again, because the South African Government sure as hell won't let you just take over Swaziland. You'd need a good reason to do so, and helping their people probably won't fly.

Formal Declaration from the King of Swaziland:
In light of His Majesty's ambitions to preserve state security, His Majesty - King Mswati III of Swaziland - hereby declares war upon Honako for its blatant transgressions into the African continent and summoning its persons for the use of slavery in Honako. Their uncalled invasion of Mozambique and Zambia shows to all nations around the world that Honako is a stifling imperialist hog, seeking to re-establish the former days of imperialism, when the world looked upon Africa as a breeding ground of free and cheap labor for their luxurious estates in Europe. They come with the banners of freedom and liberation, but their true intent to enslave Africa once again. His Majesty - King Mswati III of Swazliand - hereby calls to all Africann countries with any thought of their self-preservation to follow our example and declare war against the imperialist hogs of Honako. His Majesty's honor shall prevail and free the continent from the imperialists in Honako and any future incursion on African free soil!

OOC:
The armed forces of Swaziland include 47,500 soldiers.
Rough calculation:
1,000,000 people
4.75% per capita military spending roughly
I am not claiming Swaziland - I'm just putting a little twist to the story, getting legitimacy for Honako's invasion (now defense). That said, while I don't expect Honako to lose the war, I also do not expect this little thing to become a little walk in the park. If anything, I will make you earn rights to conquer Swaziland by spilling your blood. Whether other countries want to participate is another story, but try to keep this limited. That said, the Han Empire has no reason to intervene, because this is Africa, and I very few methods to send anything over here for the very few reasons why I would send them here, so unless anyone else objects, I'll RP the NPC (not so NPC anymore) forces of Swaziland.

News quickly spread in the region about the expansion of their southern neighbours in response the Animarnia armed forces were put on high alert; especially those based in the region of Tanzania. OOC: I'll allow you to be Swazilands forces if so needed, but I don't want a minor invasion turning into a war involving multiple nations - so I'd prefer if there was no more people fighting for you.
To: Government of Swaziland
Your people seem to have been happy with our plans to restore a good life into your nation. We have enough resources to make your nation a thriving place, insead of one of the most dangerous places to live in the world. IF you wish to put up resistance - in military form - do so, but we are thinking of the people of Swaziland here.
And lastly, your nation will not be turned into a slave race. We hope we can sort this out diplomatically.
To: Government of Tanzania
WE have no plans to invade your country, so your increased border defences are unneeded.

The time for talk was over. The King of Swaziland had committed his attack to a direct attack on the center of Honako forces based in Maputo. Just 25km past the border from Swaziland, the Royal Army set its artillery out to barrage the city with shells, while the infantry controlled the hillside heading to the city. It was a small force of about 15,000 - with limited air support, concentrating its force in anti-air defense and light artillery to pass the desired effects to the aggressors.
In Mbabane, the King received the second note - conveniently too late to stop his forces from commencing their attack. He promptly sent them a reply:
"You are hypocrites! You think to entice me with your ploys of 'good life' and 'my people'! But you don't know my people, so do not dare to spit those insolent words at me. As far as the diplomatic solution, you can resolve this situation by leaving Mozambique as it was - and all of this will be solved peacefully, aside from the already apparent shells that have fallen in preemption of your imperialist attack upon Swaziland and then all of Africa! If you seek to resolve this otherwise, meet my steel then."
Having sent the reply, he met with his councilors - "My Majesty, it is time for your prearranged trip to Pretoria. You would not wish to leave your hosts waiting for too long."
"Has the Royal House been cleared of its jewels? The traps set?"
"Yes, my liege."
"Wonderful. Let them come, and taste the blood of their prejudices. Africa will retaliate with whatever force it conjure against those imbeciles." And with those words, the King left the palace for his trip to South Africa, hopefully to bring more attention to the situation and bring the already hopeful Tanzanians to his side. In due time, things will be set the way that they ought to be set.
The High Commissioner to Mozambique was a stuffy, large and sweaty man who didn't like the people, the weather and most of all the flies and insects, and wished he was back in his native Finland. He sat peacefully in a warm office looking over Maputo. In front of him was a letter sent by King of Swaziland, and he was still puzzled by it. He could understand how he would not want foreign troops taking land from under him, but failed to see how he could not admit that Honako could bring his people a brighter future like the people of Mozambique had now, a better health service, better jobs and improved homes.
This man was obviously not open to negotiation; there was little other option but to fight him. He had already begun to attack Maputo, he had caused little damage but his stance was clear - it was a battle to the death.
To: The King Of Swaziland
We have given up all hope with you; the only thing on your mind seems to be war.
47,500 troops, this is absurd? We could stretch to a a few million and we have the backing of our people, probably more than I could say than for you, a crazy King with too much ambition.
I call for you to remove your resistance and give over Swaziland. We do not want to take it by force, but will defend our country at any costs and will try and help your people from your crazy leadership. We have the resources to try and lower the AIDS epidemic there, and to make Swaziland a rich and fruitful place to live. You on the other hand probably squander what little money your country has on grand palaces whilst your people starve.
You currently have 15,000 troops outside our city – we demand they are removed from the country or it is war, we have already dispatched 50,000 of our troops to head to Swaziland – and if they meet with your disorganized men and you do not surrender, there will have to be battle.
We appeal to other Africans nations not to listen to this King, and we assure you that all other African nations are safe. We even invite you to help us make Swaziland a better place without the high mortality it has now. But, it's up to you.

There was no reply - the King of Swaziland was already in South Africa, while he troops remained oblivious of the fact that 50,000 troops were marching to meet them. They continued to shell the city, increasing the rate of fire into the nighttime, so as convince the Honako government that this fly would keep biting until the horse trotted away.
In Pretoria, the King prepared a speech, to convey to the world the graveness of the situation. No one would expect the Swazi resistance to be stiff, but the world ought to be surprised every once in while. Unlike what was perceived to be a morass of soldiers, Swaziland had a minimally professional, ready and willing to fight any enemy that approached. Snipers and squads patrolled the country, as army commanders decided how best to attack the city, once resistance was softened enough to risk an attack.
Official Government Report
In light of the recent resistance that has caused the deaths of over 100 army personal and 150 citizens of Mozambique Honako has decided to deploy troops to the following locations.
200,000 troops will be prepared to go into Swaziland. These will not be easily deployed though.
50,000 troops have been sent to defend the capital of Mozambique, and make the 15,000 attackers surrender. They have entered our soil now and will be pay the price for attacking Mozambique. These troops will be arriving shortly, so will be ready by the time the King creates an attack.
5,000 to be inside the capital of Maputo to make the people feel safe and provide reserve.

The Queen was stood once more at the podium; with the gathered press; sitting or standing in the ales or at the back of the room; "Ladies and gentlemen of the press; some of you have noted the increased alert level of our armed forces. This is in direct response to the perceived threat of the Honako regime expansion into Swaziland. The Region of Tanzania is one of our most prosperous and a vital naval sea route from countries outside of the Africa continent for both tourism and trade with our nation. As Royal Monarch I reaffirm that Tanzania is off limits to the Honako Military of all branches including the navy and airforce without express permission from the Animarnian National Government and armed Services." She paused a moment to let this sink in.
"To The Government of Honako; I say this. When the people of Honako talk of Tanzania and Animarnia; its people, its culture, it's potential. Know this - it is defended." She said with conviction and a particular emphasis on the last three words.
With that the Queen departed.

SIC:
The Queens palace had private meeting chamber; sometimes called the 'war room' it was where monarchs of old would decide the fate of the nation. To emphasis this to future monarchs the room was decorated with paintings of former kings and queens and many different types of swords and other assorted weapons were mounted on the walls.
at the moment three members of the Warrior cast; General Yukikowa , General Garanski and General McClurry were sat on one side of the table dressed in there traditional Warrior Caste black robes; there shoulders decorated with Skull Epaulette and looked exceptionally intimidating and noble. On the other side of the table sat Lady Rodosvitch and Lord Takagawa the nations chief diplomatic advisors and queens personal aides along with Lady O'Hara the current High Elder all three were dressed in white and blue robes.
"You know why you are here" she began; "Tell me; what is our current situation"
"Your highness; our current defence readiness is Defcon three, this is the highest level we can prepare at without a declaration of war; 2000 Para's and 36,000 Helicopter deployed Storm Troopers can deploy to Tanzania at 48 notice. Other branches of the armed services have been put on 48 activation and could be in Tanzania within a week. Our bases already in the area have also been put on Defence Condition three and the border defence force has arrived and set up along out southern border" General Yukikowa was the first to speak.
"The Airforce is on alert; we have Mig aircraft running air patrols along the border 24 hours a day; as one patrol lands another takes off to begin another patrol. Su-37 have been sent to the region and we've started to move a few of the Tu22M's to southern Tanzania airbases. If it comes to war. We can fight", General Garanski
"Good; how are things coming on the diplomacy front?" She asked turning to her two advisors and the high elder.
"The Honako Government claim they are no threat to us; but they've given no indication or guarantees that they won't try to invade…." General McClurry cut off Lady Rodosvitch mid sentence.
"We should attack now; while we still can; while we still have the element of surprise; make them capitulate if they are fighting a war on two fronts. Tanzania is critical to our national defence, our economy, and our national future. We cannot afford to lose it to invaders"
"The Honakoans have a lot to offer us, Titanium and nickel for a start, which we could finally user to start designing our own aircraft and clay we can use for ceramic plates; and other small commodities" Lady O'Hara offered into the fray.
"So we turn a blind eye to their imperialism for our own needs?" General McClurry spoke.
"Perhaps, General you agree that the current defence forces are adequate to defend Tanzania in the event of an attack by Honako?"
"Yes" McClurry, said grudgingly.
"Then we maintain the Border Defences and attempt diplomacy" the Queen ordered.
"Yes your highness"

To: Whom it may concern, Honako
Your promises of not invading could simply be empty words; I am sure you said the same thing to Swaziland and Mozambique. Your blatant imperialism unsettles native governments; indeed, who's next on your list? It could very well be us. Our border defences will stand down when and where her Royal Highness decides whether you see them as necessary or not and I would be amiss if I did not mention some in our armed services view your imperialist crusade as a declaration of war upon in of itself,
For now I am able to prevent these individuals from commencing direct action however if your crusade in Africa continues it may very well lead us down the path to war. Perhaps you could allay these fears and allow for cooler heads prevail by offering us something in return for our patience

We are helping out a country in complete dissary. We would love for you to send a small force over to make sure our takeover goes smoothly.
Secondly, to South Africa - we feel as if the resources that Swaziland has are not being used to there full potential by the current government. We can make this country a great place and help it clear it's debts and have an economy as previously stated.
Then, to Tanzania - we can promise that there will be no such attack on Tanzania. Keep your defenses if you want, but your country will not be invaded.
And lastly, to SCE Foreign Affairs Office - we will consider your proposal but only if the force is small and just for peace keeping.

The King of Swaziland was en route to a convention, when a shot rang out from a crowd. No one knew who committed the attack, but a group of Swazi officials looked at the incident and publicly came out with a declaration:
"Six hours ago, while His Majesty was preparing his attendance to a convention in Pretoria, His Majesty - King Mswati III of Swaziland - was shot and killed in a public crowd by an unknown assassin. Doctors have yet to confirm results from their autopsy, but it is but apparent to the government in Swaziland that the government of Honako is responsible for the death of His Majesty. While we have every incentive to retaliate against such a murder of our great leader, there is one thing that both the Honako government and our government can agree - this war is a spoiler. The King of Swaziland has since left no apparent heirs, and in the meantime, the local forces in Mbabane have staged a soft coup, to steal power from the Royal House, an attempt to control the national politics and offer ourselves an opportunity to negotiate for a end of hostilities between our two government. As the government of Swaziland, we wish to demonstrate our benign nature by unilaterally offering to withdraw troops from their siege around Maputo. Here is the situation - we withdraw, and leave things as they were. While we do not agree with your actions in Africa, the new government of Swaziland feels no need to continue the King's facetious war of aggression upon other Africans, and hence views the old war as over. If you can agree to a compensation by the new government to repay for the damages incurred by the old regime, we will gladly do so. But do realize that an attack upon Swaziland at this time will not be of our accord, but a true attack upon our sovereignty. Swaziland maintains its sovereignty to its own self-determination, and it shall remain that way forever.
"We apologize to the Royal Family, for bringing perhaps unnecessary pain to them, but we have done we feel is right for Swaziland; however criminal the actions of the Honako government in assassinating the King, it is perhaps better now that the new government has at least the opportunity to rectify the problems of the old regime. To the citizens in Maputo, our armed forces will no longer plague your skies, and in fact the bombardment should already be over and our forces making preparations to quit your country and return to the status quo. To the citizens of Africa, we can only hope that this is end of a conflict that does not need to become enlarged by the imperialist desires of all states - native or foreign.
"To the government Honako, again we deplore your plot to assassinate our former King, but we must be realists here - the new government of Swaziland has no desire for war, and wishes to restore the status quo. Your government will remain the imperialist power, but it is welcome alternative that we are willing to accept in place of these hostilities which will hardly hurt your home country and only seek to broaden the rift between genuine Africans. We hope that you will accept the status quo, in favor of overturning these previous actions. We have perhaps killed hundreds of Africans, but you killed our King; we shall call it even."
The planners in Mbabane issued martial order, and as the 15,000 standing invading army awaited further orders vacate Mozambique, the country in tacit revolution was prepared for what would come next.

OOC: My apologies; I'll quietly delete the post and disappear
To: Swazi officials
We would like to see your proof we committed this act of murder? Honako denies any part in this assassination, and suggests that making claims like that will not further our relations.
You seem far more cool headed and diplomatic than your previous barbaric King, but your country needs help. After all, our main aim in all of this was to aid Swaziland by making it a more stable country, by using it's resources in a way that benefits the people, and we still believe you do not have the funds/technology to do that.
We will not commence with a takeover - for now. But we await evidence that you can turn this country you've inherited into something great, but it's very unlikely you have the resources to do so. We would be interested in offering a chance for both our nations to rule Swaziland, in a Commission (or Committee) like we rule our nation - which means that you would be involved in the running of the country (though we would ultimately be rulers) and can have the use our money and military and help make Swaziland a country that isn't famed from it's high deaths from AIDS.
But, before we have any talks about this deal we are offering you, we demand that you withdraw your troops. They will be allowed to leave safely. We also demand that you pay for any construction that has too done to repair damage to our capital. Obviously this will take some needed money from your bank balance - but sadly you can't get away with this attack.

To High Commissioner of Mozambique:
We have yet to determine the nature of the assassination, but we have every reason to believe that elements of the government of Honako - having every incentive to his death - perpetrated the attack seeking cause instability in Swaziland. However, we will not make more assumptions until we have clear and irrefutable evidence to make our claims - following the autopsy examinations.
As far as your own remarks, we would appreciate that you keep your own slander to yourselves, as our King may not been wise and great, but compared to your imperialist policies in Africa - of which the world already acknowledged - cannot compare with the late King Mswati III. We do not need any of your help, and we would appreciate it that you at least your imperialist ambitions to the territories that you already own. We will dispose of our country in a manner that reflects our desires for greatness, not yours. We furthermore do not need your approval for the management of our state, since we govern ourselves. It is because we govern ourselves in fact that we are willing to engage in discourses, and we are willing to show the benign intentions of our state by removing our forces from Mozambique - an unintended and unwarranted attack by the former King of Swaziland against Africans. It is not out of our respect for Honako, but for our respect for Africa.
And because we govern ourselves, we are willing to accept responsibility of our former king in his aggression against Africans, that we will repay the damages caused upon African people in Maputo and neighboring environs. However, you can keep your own desires to control us, because we will not be dominated by you.
Interim Government of Swaziland
SIC to government of Animarnia:
It is our hope that we can secure our independence from the overtly imperialistic ambitions of Honako. Whereas our former king was ambitious and short of sight, we hope that allay the troubles that we had caused, and seeing your state as the most reputable African power capable of deterring the ambitions of Honako directly, we hope to conclude mutual protection with your government. We are currently undertaking measures to consolidate our defense, but until we have certain capabilities to deter the imperialistic ambitions of the Honako government, the momentum of our former King's invasion may pull a balance into conflict. Nonetheless, we hope that we can count on your government to help us in our need, to prevent the imperialistic expansions of the Honako government.
Interim Government of Swaziland
To: Interim Government of Swaziland
Honako will look at what you do with your country in helping get rid of your problems, though we view your dismissing of our help as foolish and in the long run it would of benefited your people. We wish your government well but if we feel that you are just following the ways of your old King we may have to step in. We, to an extent, respect your sovereignty and that you have a right to govern there, but we feel the deal we laid out for you was good enough to mean you had the money and power of us plus a far chance for your government to run the place. You obviously felt otherwise.
I hope conflict does not arise. We also call to all neutral African countries to see our point of view and not dismiss us as imperialists.

The King basically forced what little troops we have in Swaziland to leave as we where not expecting an hostile reaction - so what troops do we withdraw but a few thousand who have barely passed the border due to the halt in our takeover?
Also, a brutal invasion! Oh please. It has been pointed out in nearly every letter and statement we have made to the nations of Africa that this attack was not brutal in intent and when it happened, infact Swaziland has probably killed more of our people than we have killed theirs.

To all concerned parties:
The Interim Government of Swaziland wishes to clarify the situation in Swaziland, so as to permit all concerned parties to know what has occurred and further what the Interim Government has discovered.
Recently, King Mswati III was assassinated in Pretoria, South Africa while preparing to attend a local conference. At the entrance, he was shot once by an unknown assailant, who managed to escape in the crowd. We have received word from the local authorities in Pretoria that they were still continuing the investigation. However, they have received the autopsy reports, showing irrefutable evidence that the assailant used small arms currently employed by the armed forces of Honako. We maintain our claims of involvement on the part of the government in Honako. in lieu of this revelation, and if countries need see the details of this report, they have but to ask the local authorities in Pretoria.
Despite this revelation, the Interim Government of Swaziland has made efforts to mediate the crisis. We have since then removed all of our troops from Mozambique to end our late king's ambitious war there, as a foolish attempt to liberate the country, whereas his policies were only causing more harm for Africans. We appreciate the neutrality thusfar of the Honako government - despite their presence in Africa - in allowing the situation to return to a status quo. We maintain our promises to repay the damages inflicted by the attack on Maputo, as a show of our benign interests.
Upon sending our offer, the government of Honako has made repeated calls for their unwarranted intervention into our country. Led by their imperialist protocols and desires, they have perceived that our people are incapable of governing ourselves, and that they have the solutions. They are wrong - we cannot state any clearer than that. The government of Swaziland aims to resolve its problems in a manner that is useful and beneficial to us - not to the government of Honako. In fact, in their recent letter to our government, they clearly stated "Honako will look at what you do with your country in helping get rid of your problems" - as if we need their approval to govern our own country. Additionally, they proposed to us that we surrender a portion of our sovereignty to make them rulers over us - specificall they said the following:
We would be interested in offering a chance for both our nations to rule Swaziland, in a Commission (or Committee) like we rule our nation - which means that you would be involved in the running of the country (though we would ultimately be rulers).
The Government of Swaziland will not cower to this request, because this is the very form of imperialist neocolonialism that Swaziland opposes, and Honako would do well if they simply left us to our own affairs rather than seek to impose their will upon us.
With these revelations on mind, the government of Swaziland is becoming increasingly wary of the intentions of our imperialist neighbor. In fact, if it is not Swaziland today, they will begin a campaign to resume the conquest of Africa and return the continent to the days of European hegemony - the very ideal that King Mswati III attempted to destroy. We ask the world to pay close attention to the state of Honako - as they do to us apparently. If it is right for them to watch us, it is right for the world to watch them and decide what is best for Honako to do. Otherwise, Swaziland will do what it needs to do, not what Honako wants it to do.
Our intentions have since King Mswati's death are completely benign, and if Honako decides to expand its imperialism into Swaziland, they shall expect to see the ire of the world falling upon them. As of the present moment, they have no troops in our country, and they have made no militaristic adventures to challenge our sovereignty. But if this changes, we will guarantee much pain on their behalf.

The Queen sits in her private study; her thoughts are troubled; she is barely 30 years old thrust into the position of power by circumstance after her parent's accidental death. She has had training of course in all matters of state but still she is young and some might say neive in some respects. The generals would call her a fool for taking the Honakans at there word but at the same time could she afford not to? If she didn't there could be war; she sighed to herself wishing there was someone she could share these troubled thoughts with as she started to draft a letter….
Dear Mr. Jukka Huuskonen
I have taken it upon myself to write this message to you personally; given your short responses to statements of 'we do not have plans to invade' several of my countrymen would question if there were a 'yet' to be silently added onto that statement. Given its short if admittedly to the point answer; These voices call for Honakon blood as a pre-emptive measure kill them before they can kill us.
Offer me something that I can take to the generals more than you're mere words; words are cheap Mr Huuskoen. Actions talk. Our generals need something real to allay their fears,
Her Royal Highness, Queen Katriana

To the Federation of Animarnia,
The Scandinavian State of Futuris wishes to address any hostilities displayed between your nation and that of Honako. Although you have a right to have suspicions to that of Honako's intentions, we do not understand why you are asking Honako to do something for you so you do not 'listen' to your Generals and attack Honako. In this case, it is Animarnia that would be the precipitator of this war, becuase Honako has shown absolutely no signs of hostile actions in the nearby future towards your nation - they are in fact trying to establish a peaceful and effective government in Swaziland, so as to bring stability to the region, and begin civilizing the country so that it can too, be great.
Again, we do not care for military movements in Animarnia, but we will not take threats to our allies lightly. We hope that this matter can be resolved peacefully, and that further bloodshed is spared, and a new era of peace and progress can begin for Swaziland.

We have no hostile intent towards our border defences are purely that, defences; if we are attacked we will respond in kind. but we fail to see how a new age of prosperity and "civilisation" can come under a jackboot. we are concerned for our own saftey; as we are sure that Swaziland was given the same promises; Honako has proved itself to be imperialist and a threat to the region thus we are understandable on edge. we hope for no further bloodshed also; but any action will not be from our starting but we do want binding treatys, binding peace acords and guarantee's. we do not want empty words; we want the Honako Government to put its money where its mouth is.
as for the conquest of Swaziland....the road to hell is paved with good intentions is it not?

As we have said numerous times, we have no plans to try and invade your country. We will agree to any treaty you give us (as long as it's concerning what we do to your country, not others, and is not full of silly clauses) if it creates peace between our nations. We would also like to open an Embassy in your country...

Jukka didn't trust the Swazi government. They seemed to have an agenda to turn things on Honako, something that angered Jukka greatly. He had sent out the order for the 200,000 prepared troops to sit on the border. It would cost them money, so it wouldn't last too long. The move could be viewed as a threat to Swaziland, or as a deterrent against them attacking Zambia or Mozambique as they had done before. But the plan was not to invade, though he feared a cold war type situation could start up...

OOC: Swaziland obviously, we have no plans to invade you, and we have no plans to takeover anywhere for now. This is just a precaution.

We've heard of your plight and we sympathize with you. But there is little we can do, apart from sending peace-keepers. Which is exactly why I am sending you this message. We, the people of the German Confederation, don't like Imperialistic Nations anymore then you do, and so it is our wish that you don't fall under the boot of another. If you wish, we will send 10,000 Peace-keepers to your land to help protect it and train your military. This number will include around 25 Leopard 2A7 Tanks, 14 Panavia Tornado Fighter Planes, and other items.
We await your answer.
Sincerely

The Interim Government of Swaziland has reviewed your proposal, and while it may seem in our best interests to thwart Honako imperialism by permitting your troops access in our country, we cannot allow foreign forces to stand our territory without proper cause. We understand the good intentions behind the move and we furthermore appreciate and respect that. But as one of our own spoke so long ago, "One does not remove a leopard by bringing in a lion."
We hope that we can agree on simpler provisions that still protect our sovereignty, maintain our good relations, and thwart Honako imperialism in Africa; we can allow the presence of some special military advisors to help our forces prepare for the defense of our sovereignty, but we must limit their transparency; our objective is not to force Honako into making bad decisions, because at this point, only Africa will suffer. We are only too glad that we can still nonetheless look at Europe and say - "The Germans redeem the whole of Europe by standing against imperialism." These actions can hopefully sow the seeds for future friendship, and the end of Honako imperialism.

Jukka was pissed off. An imperialist was not what he wanted to be known as. The High Commissioners in Zambia and Finland cared little for the subject and had ordered him to give up on Swaziland, and try and open diplomatic relations with the country. He would certainly do that, but he had no plans to give in on the takeover yet.

We can understand your viewpoint and the invasion has been halted. But nevertheless we wish to help your country, and as neighbours we hope that for now we can put this behind us – we want to offer you the chance to use our resources and technology to improve the lives of your people. If accepted, we will send a small delegation to discuss terms; maybe trade for these supplies?

Prepare to join a delegation that will be sent to Honako. Pick five of your best men to go with you. Find out anything and everything on the Swazi government, including there military movements, economic information and whether they plan to stay in power. Good luck.

To The High Commissioner Of Mozambique:
We are finally glad that your government is willing to put things behind us - and that the defiles of the past will help us pave our way to the future. While it is perhaps a motion of good nature, we - as the Interim Government of Swaziland - cannot accept a trade deal at the moment. We are busily establishing the mechanisms through which a democratic society - a less volatile state - can stand in Swaziland. At the moment, the best aid that the government of Honako can manage to do is to leave us to our affairs. If we wish to establish a trade deal at a later time, we will consult representatives from your government at that time. In the meantime, we must allow time to defuse before committing any sort of concrete agreements.
