History



Life was usually in Germany in the early parts of the 21st Century, though many looked for space as a way for a new start. Many noticed that the Earth was becoming too small for the population, that pollution and global warming were also major problems, and the increase of wars in the last couple of decades.

During the middle half of the Century many German officials came up with the Ruhr Plan. The plan would involve the relocation of the German people to a new planet, named Eberly. Some Germans were somewhat afraid of the idea, but some where ready to leave. On May 5, 2061 the first colonist left Earth to pave the way for future colonist efforts.

As time went on, more and more Germans left Earth and ventured to Ruhr, as the Germans felt it fit to change the name to something more German. With things worsen in the 2090s on Earth; most Germans knew that Ruhr had a better life waiting for them. Karl Steinmetz, the last President of Germany, called a total evacuation of Germany to happen in between 2090-2092, and the last transport left Germany on December 15, 2092. Even though some Germans wanted to stay behind, a majority of the people left.

Once arriving on the planet, President Steinmetz called an election, and won. The German constitution was adopted for the newly created Reich Republic of the Ruhr, which was created on February 28, 2093. President Steinmetz vowed to lead the German people to a new age of prosperity and peace.

For the next nine years, the Reich Republic had no interaction with any other human beings. During 2100’s they finally met with the Federation of Alto-Sara. The two groups made close ties, and on November 21, 2102 they both signed the Treaty of Gaia-Steinmetz, which made them allies. For the 198 years the Reich Republic spent it’s time building up a great civilization and trading with Alto-Sara.
